Every time I attempt a wild either it being during a nap or a wbtb, I lay there and begin to feel very relaxed, I kinda lose the sensation in my limbs, I slow my breathing to steady semi deep breaths and I won't focus on anything (or try) and sometimes I'll slip into a memory and I'll be like snapped back to consciousness. But usually after 40 mins of wilding I try to go to back to bed like normal and usually have a hard time falling asleep after trying wild. Oh and I never notice HI either. Any advice please?? |

The wild subforum is probably a better place for this topic. |

Attempting WILD: 0
Have achieved SP with mild HI previously, haven't attempted much in the past.
Hmmm when does the "snapping back to consciousness" happen? Is it after the 40 minutes, before, or some time in between? I have had instances where I am starting to drift off, and when I get some random thoughts, I get jolted back to consciousness. After that, I have a hard time sleeping as well. The only remedy I came up with for myself is try to go back to sleep using mantras. After a few minutes of repeating mantras to myself mentally, I found I could drift off much easier than when I didn't use them. |

I had the 'snapping' sensation just this afternoon (and on previous occasions) and it does tend to wake something up in the brain making it harder to go back to sleep. I wonder if it's some rebound or mechanism to get us up and about, especially if we're not really tired at that point but trying to get into a dream. |

The sensations tend to wary a lot, so there is nothing wrong with not seeing HI though the entire process. As long as your falling asleep while maintaining awareness, you're on the right track |

Of all things imaginable, the least seem to be the hardest...
If you are feeling too awake, sometimes it helps to get up and walk around a bit. When things aren't going well, I become really uncomfortable in bed, and I have to get up and drink a glass of water, or use the bathroom, or something. |
