Strange problem with WILD On multiple occassions

Hi everyone, If anyone could help me out with my problem, I'd really appreciate it!
Heres the short version: Had a bad experience WILDing, cant get past the vibration/weird sensation stage when I try it now.
      Long version:
I tried WILD for the first time a while back, and followed all the steps on the info page. After 2-3 tries of nothing happening, I managed to get it to work.
I got to the stage where you feel strange sensations etc (for me it was a strange sort of vibration) and then I started being able to hear my heartbeat. It got louder and faster really quickly, and before long it was going impossibly fast - I was really scared, I thought I was about to have a heart attack, so I woke myself up.
Since then trying WILD again, I have had the start of the vibrations, but they always die down before anything happens. I just go back to being completely normal and awake.
Does anyone have any advice? I've tried doing it at different times, and different levels of alertness etc.
      Thanks!

after the vibrations go away and you feel awake you should reality check because your probably in a dream and just dont realize it For most people, Once the vibrations/noises of SP go away you are in the dream. Next time do a reality check after, I prefer the nose plug RC. Good luck

I strongly recommend that you read the WILD classes by Sageous, at least start from the 3rd class (which talks about HI/SP/Vibrations et al)

Remember that your goal is ludid dreaming, not reaching a state where you feel sleep paralysis or vibrations. If you reach them by chance then you should have to stay calmed and remember that they are not dangerous therefore you should keep it going even if you are scared. When you reach the part of HI then the most important thing is to make your dream, or if not just focus on keeping lucid (this is the most difficult part of staying lucid).

Weird sensations are harmless, but can be freaky, just stay calm. You are learning to fall asleep but stay aware, it is going to be weird. I think a big mistake is allowing your mind to wander or over focus. If you let your mind wander, you will keep yourself awake, or fall into true unconcious sleep. If you focus on anything to hard you will not fall asleep. Repeatiing a mantra in a casual manner or counting your breaths caan be very useful. If you use a counting method, do not worry about keeping your place. Just count until you reach double digits and start back at one the second keepiing track is difficult. You can even just count into the low teens and go back to one. The idea is to use it to stay aware, keep the mind from wandering, and not need to focus much.

      Thanks everyone for your replies!
I will try mantras instead of counting to 100 (which is what I've been doing) the next time I try, and I never thought to try reality checks just after the vibrations, I will definitely try that.
One last question though, and that's what time I should do it at. I've been trying waking myself at 4AM, but I've heard late afternoon can work as well. Which would you suggest?

The best idea is mid-way or later in a nights sleep. It does not matter what time it is, it matters how much sleep you have had. No less than 4.5 hours, but if you get to sleep in 6 or 7 hours sleep makes it much easier.
