Weird sensations are harmless, but can be freaky, just stay calm. You are learning to fall asleep but stay aware, it is going to be weird. I think a big mistake is allowing your mind to wander or over focus. If you let your mind wander, you will keep yourself awake, or fall into true unconcious sleep. If you focus on anything to hard you will not fall asleep. Repeatiing a mantra in a casual manner or counting your breaths caan be very useful. If you use a counting method, do not worry about keeping your place. Just count until you reach double digits and start back at one the second keepiing track is difficult. You can even just count into the low teens and go back to one. The idea is to use it to stay aware, keep the mind from wandering, and not need to focus much. |
