    Thread: do you enter ream sleep right away when taking a nap in the day?

      do you enter ream sleep right away when taking a nap in the day?

      I dont remeber were exactly i read this but i was wanting to know if it was true or not, thanks for the replys.

      heheheheh... It's REM sleep. Ream is something else entirely.

      It's certainly possible that you could enter directly into REM sleep, but most of the time it starts out as non REM.

      There's a common misconception that dreaming only occurs in REM sleep, but REM sleep describes a quality of your dreams. REM sleep tends to be more action packed, more exciting, while non REM dreams are kind of dull and uneventful.

      REM has good graphics too. You need to nap early in the day for it to work well. Try within five hours of waking.

      I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone refer to it as "graphics"...I like it.

      But yes I think it's definitely mostly NREM dreaming during a nap. Still counts.
