You can get up, walk around and go to the bathroom, or drink some water. Maybe read a book or daydream. But don't do anything too active, or else you won't be able to go back to sleep. Also, not too bright lights because that can keep you up too. When you go back to bed, I suggest using an anchor — something you can consistently focus on while your body falls asleep, to maintain a bit of awareness. Some anchors commonly used are counting, focusing on your breathing, mantras, listening to white noise such as a fan or buzzing of the air conditioner. Basically experiment and find out what works best for you:3

      Hope this helps. Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

In your situation I would be super happy. Because always when I try to WILD I fall asleep to easily and I am actually trying to do things to prevent my mind from falling asleep "Unconsciously" while I'm maintaining a meditative state.
You on the other hand just need to get into a meditative state and you can just wait until the body gets relaxed and until you reach the vibrational stage, since you don't have the problem of falling asleep unconsciously.

By meditative state I mean that you can focus on one thing without analyzing, hoping or judging. You can for example focus on your breath without getting concerned with if you do it right, hope for sleep paralysis or judge the result. The meditative state is the mindset you need for WILD otherwise you can lay still for hours.

So make good use of your "gift".

      Sleep tight!

You need to find a balance in how much to wake up. Wake up too much, and your body will think, you are up for a day and completely wakes up. Wake up too little and you fall asleep unconsciously.

Mantras and other mental entertainment should help you stay aware, while your body is falling asleep.

You will go through stages, when you fall asleep and then almost immediatelly wake up a tiny bit so you continue with mantra, or at this point you just watching the images behind your eyelids and waiting to enter a dream. Then you fall asleep again and wake up again untill next time you fall asleep and you are hopefully lucid.

This falling asleep and waking up will happen, when you think about WILDing a lot, when you go to bed with this intention and when you think about this as you falling asleep. Of course, it won't work every time, some days you'll just fall asleep. But the more you think about how it should go, the more you'll be able to do it.

Now, this is a WILD we talking about. So there is no one way to do it. Your attempts will be different from mine and thats ok. Just keep trying and you will familiarize yourself how it feels and you will succeed. Good luck.

I have the same problem every time. I try to focus on something like breathing or clock ticking but my mind always drifts off and I fall asleep. Counting seems to work best for me but I haven't been successful yet. As paigeyemps said, find the right anchor.

Update: I finally hit sleep paralysis. Sh*t was intense.

I was drifting off (not trying to wild) and I like.. woke up as my i was about to fall asleep and then i got an intense feeling go up my body, everything turned white, I was vibrating like crazy and I started to see flashes of pictures and then I stopped it because I didnt know what was going on at the time (I didnt expect it to be that insane, now i know what im expecting next time)

Those sensations are not SP. Those are regular things you experience as you falling asleep. They are not a goal to reach. You may experience them or you may not, or you will get different ones or none of them next time. Your goal is to fall asleep while aware. So it's best not to pay attention to these distractions.

Please read this WILD tutorial, so next time you are ready and don't have to interrupt your attempt because you don't know what's going on and what to do.

That is the typical sensations Monroe had right before an Real Time Zone OBE!

Even if you believe it or not, I definitely suggest that you should at least explore and see the truth for yourself. (Note that it took about a year for Monroe to realize that it wasn't just a "dream")
So next time you feel this, flow with it and if you feel and floating sensations just go higher and higher and see where it leads you.

This is an exploration of the consciousness. I'll get there soon enough myself..

Although gab is right, you shouldn't på too much focus on it, just passively be aware of it.

See I told you that you had a gift
