      Getting past SP

      Hello everyone,

So im new to dream views and i dont have much experience in lucid dreaming.
I've been using the wild technique for awhile and i think it works best for me

So anyway i had no problems getting past the SP phase before but these days im just having so much trouble with the SP phase. Usually i get annoying vibrations during SP but i endure it and it goes away, then i become lucid. But now no matter how long i wait, it just wont go. Its like waves of vibrations, the first wave is usually the weakest and easily endurable but it gets stronger after each wave till it becomes very annoying and then i just wake myself up.

What are your thoughts about this?

      Thanks in advance

What you experience during your WILD attempts such as tingling, buzzing, noises, etc. are probably not even sleep paralysis at all. They're just normal bodily sensations you notice as your body is falling asleep. When it happens, try not to think of it too much, and instead focus on your dream, maybe visualize or do some mantras in your head.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

aaacckchchchc, so many worries about that which needs not worry.
Sleep paralysis is nothing to Lucidity except a phase of sleep that might let you know how far you are.
but to even use it as a reference will ruin your awareness.

You can have more than one wave of vibrations, or just one, or even none at all. It could be different each time. I wouldn't pay too much attention to them. Wait them out and when over, see if yu can see your room without opening your eyes, or do a morionless RC to check if you already in lucid dream.

Maybe before you were less sensitive to vibrations and felt only the last wave. Good luck.

It's quite unlikely that you will experience SP, because that starts after you fall asleep and start to dream.

For HI - try taking a nap. Best time is in the morning, about 90 min after you wake up. Try not to wake up too much, let your mind know, that you not ready to start your day yet. This really works best, if you are at least a little bit sleepy.

Lay down on a sofa (not your bed - you want to tell your mind, that you are doing something else, not just going to sleep). Put 2 pillows behind you, so you are semi-sitting. Cover your eyes, so you can see the HH better.

Then start paying attention to the behind of your closed eyelids. At first, you will see just grey fog swirling around. Repeat a simple mantra, like "I'm dreaming". As you getting closer to falling asleep, these may change into objects, or pictures. Think about any dream from your past.

At the right time, if you are still awake, you may see a dream starting to form, or feel some weird sensations, like vibrations, falling, flying, or hear some sounds.

      Give it a try.

      Thanks again man.

Also, moving my eyeballs can be a problem while I try to wild?

Never noticed it to be a problem. I frequently change focus from far away to closer to see the stuff on the eyelids.

Whoa that's new for me. the act of moving my eyes do not tell my brain that I am not actually sleeping?

You do move your eyes in REM, so I would say no. But I'm no expert.

And you move your eyes as you are falling asleep normally, as you move your body, change position, swallow, scratch... Just try not to do it too much.

Some say that your body knows that you are not in REM, so it interprets those as you are awake. I think that the main thing to do is not move them intentionally. Focusing on your eyes will make you stay awake even if you are trying to keep them still. You aren't trying to concentrate on not moving, you are trying to find the perfect mixture of paying attention and not paying attention. I have only had 6 WILDs (2 straight up, 4 DEILD) and in them I noticed that I was always at a particular tiredness and paying a very specific amount of attention. This amount leaves me barely conscious enough to remember to RC when I am in the dream and realize that I am dreaming. That is mostly for me though. I think that everyone has a specific mixture that works for them.

      Edit:

my conclusion was supposed to be:
It is not supposed to be all about not moving. When you are barely conscious you just normally want to move. You are just trying to fall asleep... consciously.
