If you are doing this without any prior sleep, you can get HH, but a dream may not be ready for you to enter. That's because at the beginning of sleep, we start with NREM and REM is about 80 min away. We can and do dream in NREM also, but REM dreams are so much better, that's why we aim for them.

See here how you could enter LD from HH http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ntry-wild.html

Just be advised, that you don't always get HH and if you wait for them and they don't come, you may miss your opportunity. This tutorial describes very well how to prepare yoruself a dream, so you have something to enter. WILD Good luck

It all comes down to practise, but the general idea is that you should move your awareness from the physical (waking-world) to the non-physical (dream-world) and you will, be there.

Remember that you don't actually got a body in the dream world, all you got is your awareness. So if you suddenly see something (hypnagogic imagery) this should not be seen as a sign that tells you that you should wait for the transition to happen automatically, which many beginners do. Instead just realize that this is an experience of the non-physical and if you want to experience it as you experiecne the physical world, you need to engage your senses.

Imagine holding something and when you can feel it you should just get up! Because your focus is by then in the non-physical world and there is no need for a transition.

      You are already out!

      Good luck!

I'm excited to try this particular technique of feeling something in my hand. I seem to always fall asleep from a lack of engagement so this will help me.
