An annoying question, and something I'd like to know

Hey everyone! I was wondering... If I keep practicing my WILD method a lot, will it be easier to focus in the future and to get to SP much faster?

And also, I encountered this on..I think it was my fifth WILD attempt. I had been laying there for..what seemed like 20 minutes. I started hearing these odd whale noises; some far away, and some right in my ears. I asked my sister after my failed WILD, "Hey, did you hear those weird whale noises?" She didn't know what i was talking about. And her room was completely quiet..I think I was making some progress.

      Feedback would be much appreciated!

getting used to the wild process has helped me to become less excited when the roller coaster starts which makes it easier to slip into sleep paralysis and dreams. When you practice WILD you sort of practice meditation, you also get better at meditation with experaince. Its a matter of knowing what to think about to get your mind in the right zone, there are a few topics about that and what you should focus on.

Whale noises that no one hears are a sign that your dreamscape is just on the metaphorical horizon keep up the good work

To answer your questions in reverse:

Yes, you're making progress, that's some cool auditory hallucinations right there.
Yes, practice does make you better at things, the various aspects of a WILD being no exception.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

Thank you. I thought it seemed a little odd. But I have not experienced any more odd sounds, or movements yet. I guess it just takes time.

Try not to be disheartened when you don't hear strange noises- they don't always happen, and for some people(me ) they hardly happen at all. I almost never get weird or scary noises when I WILD, but I get to dreaming regardless(hey, it's possible that they're happening and dreamers like me don't even notice them! But the WILD still happens! ). And yes, the strange whale noises are hypnagogic auditory hallucinations that happen as your body falls asleep. Apparently they happen for a lot of people, their mind is usually just turned off or unaware by the time the noises happen. So you're getting closer!
