The main thing is confidence. Just will it to happen. Don't doubt it. Don't worry about "how" you're going to do it. Just do it. (Maybe set up a plan, when you're awake, but do not second guess yourself, while you're dreaming). Doubt is the #1 success-killer, when it comes to trying new things in lucid dreams. When you have no doubt that it's just going to happen (whenever you do whatever gesture you're intending), it's much more likely to just occur. But just the slightest bit of doubt creates a snowball effect in your subconscious, and then it becomes a lottery as to whether or not your intended feat will be successful or not.

Or, as Morpheus would say: "Stop trying to hit me and hit me!"

Well I don't really have any doubt but would it help if I basically made it into a fruit form basically if I eat the fruit I get the powers would that work

That is one way to accomplish it for sure. Things are easier to believe if you have a reason to. It's why people can have a difficult time doing things such as flying just by looking. But they are able to believe that a broom from Harry potter will help them fly. It comes down to doubt and expectation. If you believe the fruit will work, it will. If you believe it will work without a fruit, it will.

The same concept of people who use hand gestures for telekinesis instead of just with their mind applies here too. Sometimes it's easier to believe something will happen with some sort of action on your part like eating the fruit, or waving your hands for telekinesis, or carrying a wand that has special powers)

I feel like relaying only on expectations is not always too reliable. I think it's best to combine it with something else, like sensations. For example when you do telekinesis, you shouldn't just expect the object to move, you should also feel it move. Not only does this make it more reliable, it also makes it a lot more fun

I've done something similar to the 2nd one at 0:28 in vid. I was facing an army and I brought forth my own army of shadow beings from the void.

Wouldn't mind doing the fire tornado or blackhole in the vid that would be fun.

For these types of powers I would usually just will it to happen, this is called active abilities where you basically just use your mind and take control. The other alternative is passive abilities where you set the stage for something to happen, "I have some magical fairy dust in my pocket that will give me this power".

For active abilities to work well, you need a good level of lucidity and control so you'll want to stabilise the dream first and assert your power over it. Empower yourself by saying "I'm lucid, this is my dream and none of it's real, I have control" or something to that effect. If you know it's a dream and not real then you should have full belief in your ability to do whatever you want. The more you assert to yourself that it isn't real and that you are in control the more power and influence you will have over your dream.
