I'm new here, tried a couple times but didn't have any luck, frustrating but I'm still trying

I've been attempting WILD, waking up 5 hours after I fell asleep, walking around a bit, drinking a glass of water then going back to bed. I've laid on my back, hands at my sides completely still, but I still get nothing. The last time, after trying WBTB I laid there for 50 minutes with seemingly no change besides a small amount of tingling. Hopefully you guys have some suggestions for me, because I'm still eager to get this to work! Thanks!

      to Dreamviews!

Glad you decided to join. I believe we can help. The "don't move" part when someone WILDs used to be the norm. But not any more. As long as you don't pay attention to you moving, scratching, swallowing (in other words normal things you do when normally falling asleep), you will not interrupt your WILDing process. True, it's best to be still, but if anything should cause you distress, it's better to take care of it calmly and continue on.

I recommend this tutorial by Sageous. WILD
It's very long, but detailed and will answer all your questions.

Here is a shorter tutorial and also for DILD, which is the method usually recommended to start with. Induction Methods and Techniques

Good luck and ask if you need help with anything.

      As gab said, to Dreamviews!

It seems as though you're constantly focusing on reaching a certain stage with your WBTB technique, simply lying in bed and just 'waiting' I can assure you, will not achieve the SP you're looking for. I think people forget that the essential part of WILD is to 'fall asleep' and simply OBSERVE this happen. When I say observe I don't mean staying conscious with your thoughts racing all over your mind, but observe in the sense that you try and hold onto the little shred of consciousness you have when falling asleep. You shouldn't be looking for SP because you haven't yet experienced the sensation haha.

OK, one technique which I can recommend to anyone is Crazyinsanes automated clock technique, the 'CANWild' it's called. The benefit it has over the general WILD technique is that there isn't a need for the essential relaxation phase (the part you seem to be struggling with), that is, only if it is done correctly.
Here's the link to the CANWild method -- http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...torial-**.html

Another tutorial I suggest you check out maybe even before that one is KingYoshi's complete WILDing guide, it's a wonderful tutorial which gives plenty insight into the various WILD methods, here's the link-- http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...wbtb-more.html

Keep us posted on how it goes, have firm belief in yourself that you will do it, and trust me you will accomplish it.

Also I forgot to mention, I got the full version of the Sleep as Android app a few days ago, hopefully it will help me monitor my sleep cycles and plan WBTB closer to REM

Look into DILD, the alternative to a WILD. To help your DILD I suggest you practice MILD, an excellent technique to achieve a DILD.

MILD is like a performing enhancing steroid for your DILD, I believe.

Just a reminder, SP is not part of lucid dreaming, it's not a goal or a stage we need to achieve or go through to get into a lucid dream.
