      Turtles Crossing

Today a turtle held its head up high and decided to tread across a still concrete river. With its to-do list already planned, the turtle was nearly there. A large noisy machine made of metal came out of nowhere and scratched off everything on that turtles to-do list. The still concrete river becomes tainted. No one noticed. The machines to-do list was more important.

Things are not as they seem

It is actually very sad, if it is not an accident where it is too late to brake. Although I don't advise to crash in the tree outside the road to avoid an animal, that too is a waste of life.
But is everyone always in such hurry or otherwise getting his kicks on killing helpless things? If you replace turtle with hedgehog you get the same scenario here.. over and over again

Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

When they where laying eggs in the spring, I saw at least 5 get run over by cars. Ours are snappers though.

The writing in the OP is nice, kind of poetic like some sort of prose. The grammar just needs to be fixed.

This is fucked. They should build a bridge for cars where the turtles breed a lot.

I think it's sick that nobody cares. I saw a possum on the road the other day. Someone hit it and just left it there. I went and bought some gloves and moved it on to the grass.
Someone had moved it the next day though, I don't know why. Probably threw it in the bin. What a waste.

that is a myth, if they drop them, it means they lost grip, eagles are really dumb birds and could not register that that would kill the turtle, its just, turtles are hard to grip.

I found out a while ago that if you take your dead dog/cat whatever to the vet, they will just throw it in the bin lol
People think their dog will get some nice burial or something.
I think a ditch is okay, maybe further in to the brush on the side would be better though. Coz at least it is going back to the Earth, rather than sitting in landfill not fertilising the ground for plants or anything.

True, but the thought of a pet, which is a loved one, just being tossed into a ditch like someone doesn't care isn't a pleasant. A dog being thrown in a garbage bin is 10x more horrible, i would insist on taking it home to bury it. Or i would bury it somewhere on the side of the road, but certainly not in a garbage can.

When we had to put our dog to sleep at the emergency vet a few months ago, they gave us two options. Both costed money, I forget how much. One was a "communial cremation" or something like that, which I'm guessing meant they throw all the dogs into a fire, and the second was the same but solo. I doubt there would be a service or anything but at least at that vet there was some sort of burning involved.

Bah, don't even get me started on how much of a waste burning is. I'm even sure why people think it's more respectful or something? Where did this idea come from I wonder.
Not that I care about respecting meat. But most people do.

The benefit of the turtles getting run over as opposed to us is as on of the privileges of a dominate species.

tbh.... Only some of us make our species dominant.
