      Question on Meditation

      Hello, I just got out of a meditation session and was wondering about other peoples' experiences with meditation.

      So, the question that I have, for anyone who has meditated before, is this. When coming out of a meditation session, what does it feel like to you?

      For me, it feels like I'm ascending from a deep sleep, only not tired, just sort of hazy.

      I just feel more refreshed and my eyes are heavy. I kind of need to stretch more to, after meditating.

      Thanks for the reply! :3

      One more question, actually, if you don't mind. It's a question on WILDs and the process of doing one.

      Have you attempted a WILD with your eyes open? I've never been able to do one with my eyes closed, it makes me paranoid. XD

      When you WILD with your eyes open, after a while, your eyes close without you knowing, and the image stays, and then morphs.

      I've never heard of doing a WILD with eyes open. But to me, idk if it'll work or not. Wouldn't you have to be aware while doing it with your eyes open? If so, I think you know when your eyes would close.

      Sorry if that didn't make sense of what I just said but I've never heard of it before and that's my thought, thanks for asking.

      I assume WILD with opened eyes is possible, coz I know a girl who can sleep with opened eyes.
      but you should somehow try to close it after awhile, coz your eyes get dry and start to hurt.

      about meditation: I feel like I've slept 8 hours... nice and peaceful. If I had some headache or was mentally exhausted, that's definitely gone. I also often have tinnitus, so that decreases as well

      What type of meditation?

      Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

      @Original Poster

      Any kind, mine was a third eye meditation just because I find it as something to do and not too difficult to concentrate on.

      @Sparkley

      Mm, after a while your eyes close on their own and you retain the image you were looking at in your mind, then it starts to morph (paralysis), and then you're in a dream. That's how it's worked for me, at least.

      My eyes didn't get too dry, not dry enough to hurt or anything.

      I repeat, they close without you knowing that it does, because your mind retains the image, so you don't sleep with your eyes open.

      @Conscience

      They close after a while and your mind retains the image, so you don't know that your eyes close. Then you get the usual sleep paralysis morphing things. So you don't sleep with your eyes open.

      that sounds actually awesome... I might try it sometime, even though I think I'd personally probably get distracted by the light

      What is the technique for third eye meditation?

      When I meditate, I feel light and refreshed. I have clarity, not haziness, hence my line of questioning. I'm basically wondering if you're entering a trance.

      Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

      I usually feel refreshed and peaceful. But something I have start feeling latley, is that it almost tickles between my eyebrows. And this often occur in the end of my meditations, and stays like that for a little while after the meditation is over. Any one else that have had any weird physical sensations like that?

      I sometimes feel tickling between my eyes/eyebrows, normally when I focus on the darkness in front of my eyes. I think in my case it's because I don't relax my eyes well enough,
      but I think I heard it can also start tickling when you focus on a certain body part while you're meditating
      so I believe it's either (too) much focus on your eyes or it's because we don't relax them well enough

      Alright that's interesting stuff! I usually just focus on my breathing and the overall feeling in my body. So when it comes to the visual, Im very aware of that in the beginning of my meditation. But after a short time, going in to my breathing and then sometimes "wake up" within my meditation and just feeling totally relaxed with almost no feeling of my body (unless I try to move it). So it is after all this stages that I have start to feeling that tickling sensation lately.

      or wait, I got another idea. I read somewhere that this "third eye" (which is between the eyebrows) is actually a part in the brain (and not just a spiritual belief) which grows when you meditate and which is responsible for melatonin (you know, that sleeping hormone).
      I don't know if it's true, but if so it would make sense.

      That would be a pineal gland, and it's called the "third eye" because it senses light in order to regulate sleep cycles (and also because Descartes theorized it's our link between the physical and spiritual)

      oh, that makes sense!
      I only knew the spiritual meaning, I've only learned today that it's an actual part of the brain

      What I usually do is just try and direct all of my concentration on the center point between my eyebrows. Someone was mentioning not relaxing their eyes enough, that was something I might not have done too well, trying too hard, I guess. :p

      That's a nice thought too Conscience. I do have been thinking about the "third eye" too. Wich always seems to have it's place between the eye brows in spiritual pictures etc. I did look it up not to long ago, and it is the Pinal gland as Orignal Poster has explained. What is weird is like I already said, that I recently start to feel this "third eye" physically between my eyebrows. It havn't been any goal of mine to develop anything like that. But I got curious if anyone else here might had the same experience, and If that sensation might be a good sign in any way.

      I do believe it's a good sign, as long as you keep relaxing your eyes... I also wondered if that's normal...
      I also noticed it once happened before I fell asleep, while I was training a meditation technique for WBTB, and when I did it at night (during WBTB), I didn't have that feeling

      I guess the reason is, you already have enough melatonin because you've already been sleeping. So when you wake up for WBTB and meditate again, you don't feel that spot because the pineal gland doesn't need to produce more melatonin anymore
      this is only a hypothesis of course. I could be totally wrong

      I'm a very beginner on meditation. I don't do it a lot, like 4 times a week, 15 minutes each session. When i finish, i feel calm, no stleress at all and i can think clearer.
      Curious that in the middle of my session, i start to not feel my hands.

      Yeah well I hope it is. I dont think I could meditate properly if I wasn't relaxing my eye's fully, so that is already taken care of. Hmm.. yeah I wounder that too. Well who knows, your idea might be right. It sure was an interesting thought, though.
