Exclamation can't lucid dream at all

I'm new to the lucid dream community, but ever since I saw Inception I've been hooked on creating dream worlds etc. So last week I researched dream interpretations, and I thought that was all you could do with dreams... thank god I was wrong, and I stumbled upon a site that dealt with becoming conscious while dreaming I tried to register for that site but it was kinda cheap, and it didn't work out, so now I'm here.

Now I have a dream journal with one dream that I had, it was a short dream and since I was drinking the dream dealt with me buying a lot of liquor. But anyway, ever since that dream a week ago I've tried to have lucid dreams, and I haven't had not one dream except a silly dream last night that was based on watching Family Guy. (which I was doing before I went to sleep) I've just started doing RC's very often. (as suggested for beginners) I've even said mantras (in my head) a couple times before falling asleep.

I really want to have a DILD first, because I want to experience a lucid dream. But eventually I want to be able to go to sleep and not have a random DILD, but a planned one. (sorta like Inception, if at all possible)

But right now I just need pointers on how to force myself to become aware during my dreams for a DILD. I tried a WILD last night but I couldn't fall asleep fast enough

I'm very dedicated to having a LD. I even pretended I had a LD while trying to fall asleep, and it felt very real. But any tips, or help would be nice. Thanks!

So, you have been trying for a week? It takes more than a week for many people, so don't worry if it isn't working yet. First, you need to build some recall, so wait until you remember at least 1 or 2 dreams a day, then search for dream signs, those are important so you know when to RC. Also, questioning your surroundings is also a good thing for many, just make sure you don't stress too much about it, and there won't be any problems.

A week isn't enough... You're practicing how to be awake in your dreams, which is something the human mind rarely does on it's own. It takes time. Don't worry though, once you get a few lucids under your belt, DILD gets easier and easier.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

One week is not a very long time, in terms of trying for a lucid. There are people that have tried for years (though I'm not sure how hard they're trying...). You do sound very dedicated so I'm going to suggest something to you, if you stick with it I can almost guarantee a lucid dream in at least two weeks. But consistency and dedication is a must, (yes even with the cheesy mp3's). It's called Infinity and was made by a member of LD4all.com, another lucid dreaming site. It's here:

      Infinity

      Good luck!

Oh no the Infinity site has been closed

The official site has been shut down, and this topic is locked until an alternative hosting is found and the project re-started.
      Sorry

For the first part, you need to remember that, while inception has some basis in fact, most of it is fiction. Secondly, it takes more than a week. Have patience.

just to make myself clear I've done most of my research online, and I'm not solely basing a fictional movie as any sorta documentary or anything like that. All I'm trying to say is I want to control my mind better consciously, and subconsciously.

I'm looking for tips on how to do that, so I can have a lucid dream. I see patience is common ground for a lot of these posts so I'm going to take that to heart.

And I was also wondering if there are college courses dealing with dream interpretation? One of my professors said he took one of those courses but I couldn't find any programs anywhere.

There's one major thing that is required to have Lucid Dreams, patience. It took me 5-6 weeks to get my first one. Everyone learns at different rates. For me once I had my first lucid I have one about every 6-8 days now. And there surprisingly very long, about 5 minutes a lucid dream. I'm just going to stick with what I'm doing. DILD's, WILD's make me too scared and I jolt out of sleep paralysis every time. Thats why I like DILD's, I never get exited.
