I dont like DILD becuase ive had multiple dreams where i remember doing a reality check and still not going lucid. I know what my dream sign is and whenever i wake up i remeber i saw my dream sign and i have never gotten lucid from it. I'm really focusing on WILDs becuase ive done one before and i know it works for me

      I had something great today.

I was going to nap, then tried to WILD. I used this technique a couple of times, just to keep my mind conscious. Some minutes later, I dont know exactly how much time, I was thinking about random things, but not usual things, inside my head - it was like a conversation. Then, I felt I had to do a reality check, I tought about my arm reaching my nose (I didn't move my real arm, I knew that if I was still awake, it would make harder to continue), for a fraction of a second I felt my fingers reaching my nose, I felt they coming closer - and, again it was not my real arm - exactly at the time I realized that I was actually going to do a RC, I came back; at the exactly time I was going to breath I woke up. I knew I was awake again, I saw some HI, like shapes, etc, continued awake for some time and fell asleep.

The interresting here, is that I was at a false awakening at the moment I went to a RC. I felt my fingers coming closer to my nose, when I realized this and went to breath, I woke up. It was fast.

So, I guess the beach technique helped me keep myself conscious, the bad thing is that a dream, probably wasn't formed completely, I was hearing only some conversations.

I tried WILDing today during a nap by using the counting method. I kinda fell asleep because i started dreaming. Then i realized i should continue counting and i woke up but i was still in sleep paralysis. After i started counting, I'd get to a low number like 6 or 7 before my mind would start to wander off and then i had to refocus again.

I really have no idea what im doing wrong. I know i get into sleep paralysis because i feel the heaviness on my body. Then as im counting my mind wanders and its a repetitive cycle of my mind wandering and me trying to keep myself counting >.<

What youare doing wrong ? We told that the counting is not the best method.

I have been trying for two months or more now, and haven't yet found the best method, I think this visualization is the only one which helped me a bit.

You see, I used the method only to keep my mind awake at some point, then I let it wander.

      Great going dudes!

nemesispoi You are doing nothing wrong. The mind wanders easily. It is about training. This technique, the more you use it, the more efficient it is. If you keep stubborn you end up succeeding. Try this technique 3 to 4 times per night. Each "attempt" will be when you realize your mind is wandering. Go back to the beach but do not exhaust yourself. Try it for a few times and then just try to sleep.

With the days, you will see your are able to focus more and more, until you will find out you are succeeding.

Brunor2 I am so glad the technique is working good for you. If any of you find out that is hard to visualize, try to engage more senses. For some people, it will be easier to recall the sound of the waves, for other people will be smelling the ocean and even for some people, recalling the feeling of writing your initials in the sand is the way to go. Try a different focus every few days and you will find the best one for you. Stick with the beach, as the wave movement is an easy way to track counting and its somehow hypnotic.

      Good going guys!!

Thank you and sorry to bother with that PM.

I have a white noise app on my iPod, it have beach and waves sounds, do you think it would be efficient to let it play for like 25 mins or 30 while using the method ? Tried it again at this afternoon, wrote at the sand some times and my mind wandered and I fell asleep. I'll for use it this week end and the next week, so it's the only method I had some kind of success, hehe. Again, thanks for posting this.

Ugh still falling asleep with the beach method -.- and also, with sleep paralysis, is it normal to not hear anything or not see images? I think there was a time when i saw flashing lights but that was only once or twice

No, you do not bother me!!!

I just replied here so nemesispoi could see it too

Yes, white noise does help some people to focus. It is hypnotic so works!!! I am not a big using brainwaves (they creep me out, never tried) but white noise is fine. In fact, there are expensive devices that do white and red noises and they are super expensive. So using the I-POD is a great idea. If you could plug it to some speakers it would be even better.

I think you are pushing too much yourself. Maybe without notice but you are expecting the images and sounds, so maybe you did not reach sleep paralysis. However, is possible to hear or see nothing at all. In fact, a lot of people wish for that. My sleep paralysis has whispers in my ears (I even feel air like if something was really doing it) I heard babies, voices, cries and I saw plenty of hilarious stuff... I like those but it creeps the general public.

Just try to fall asleep. Do focus on the beach etc, but try to focus also on falling asleep and not on sleep paralysis.

Thanks, again. I'll try the white noise app tonight and see what I get.
I'll use earphones, unfortunatelly I don't have access to any speakers right now, tought they could come in hand, avoiding the earphones, hehe.

Yeah, I have tried brainwaves before, when I didn't even had my first lucid dream. Looks like you are in a rush, try slowing things down first, it's normal to have a first lucid dream then take a while for the second. I don't see many people using those devices, and I think it's much more practical and reliable sticking to the techniques.
