We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Sleep only 5-6 hours one night. Sleep 12 hours or so the next night. For me the dreams I will have at the end of that 12 hours are so vivid and realistic!

Focus on having lucid dreams, think about it nightly and vivid dreams come as a stepping stone to lucids. I supplement this with getting around 10 hours of sleep as often as I can, which ensures I'll have several long REM periods for which to use for vivid dreams. That's all it takes. I don't use any lucid aids to speak of.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I reckon the best conditions for vivid, memorable dreams are to be generally well-rested and well-fed, relatively stressfree/mentally calm & content and generally mindfull (meaning not dreamy, forgetfull or disconnected from the here and now)
Any stress factors, insomnia issues, sleep/eat rythm disturbances and mental/emotional disturbances resulting from that are all very likely to seriously impair one's (Lucid) Dreaming abilities.

3 seeds of Datura Inoxia ( or other Datura species) chewed up or ground up and drank in a tea, some 15 to 40 minutes before bedtime is also a pretty surefire way to induce extremely vivid, wellremembered dreams.
Only since anything above 5 seeds may become very dangerious (due to delerium at such doses and lethal toxicity at higher doses) it is not a very advisable lucid dream aid at all.
I've found it to be usefull to break a dryspell and stimulate memorable, vivid dreams again with a onetime ingestion. It is not advised to take Datura before bedtime 2 nights in a row, or to take it any kind of often at all.

Low doses of psychedelics often stimulate dreaming too. I've found this to be the case with LSD and Mushrooms. Then again this may not be apealing to everyone. Not to forget the law in as good as all countries today still persecutes posession and personal use of such plants/substances just as fiercely as they burnt witches in Europe and The Americas. At least personal cultivation, posession and use of mushrooms here are legal and not persecuted.

Because I can, 4-5 shots of Privilegé V.S.O.P usually almost always does the trick.

That's actually really good! Sober living is a way of life! Generally, alcohol gives me intense SP and nightmares but this can be good because I swear nightmares are my most vivid dreams.

I don't remember where I heard this, but eating peppermint or drinking peppermint tea before bed actually works.

Don't try to rely on supplements; find ways that you can attain vividness naturally, like self awareness throughout the day, good amounts of sleep, nutrition, exercise, auto-suggestion, etc.

My dreams are vivid when I make a point of setting my intention as I fall asleep. I make a point of remembering to remember to have vivid dreams each night. Just like I would make a point of remembering to remember to pack my gym bag when I wake up. I schedule it into my brain as I am falling asleep.

Some physical things that give me crazy dreams are missing sleep or sleeping in a strange place. I haven't found any foods that make a difference. I take galantamine/choline about once per month, which is like unloading a dream-filled shotgun to my forehead.

Sounds like a good idea, thanks . But i do believe that some drinks but not foods might help .
Unfortunately galantamine/choline are not being sold in my country for some reasons :S
I'm sure they WILL do something .

I'm very very interested in Datura lately, but am a little concerned with the whole toxicity/health issue. How dangerous for health is it really? Does it cause permanent brain damage?

But you have time to get high? I understand. People have things to do, busy tasks to accomplish. Like I said, just don't rely on supplements for lucid dreaming.

Getting high takes you a few minutes, but changing your life style will take you weeks . Plus I only get high on weekends at night . Why shouldn't I rely on supplements as long as I see no bad side effects, only good results .

Apple juice seems to increase vividness quite a bit for me. I want to try some warm cider soon, as I don't like chugging a glass or two of cold stuff.

Every time I wake up from a nightmare I always have super vivid lucid dreams

Oddly enough if I am in the sunshine a good bit in improves my chances of a LD the next night. Not vividness really though.

The idea of avoiding supplements is that since lucid dreaming can be done without them, it can be done anywhere anytime you can sleep through a REM phase. If you become too dependent on supplements like weed, you make it more difficult for you to have lucid dreams of your own will. In other words, it's basically cheating your way into lucids. There's nothing actually wrong with it, but doing it this way makes it more difficult to use other common methods when you haven't got any supplements handy.

Datura is interesting. It can cause very long dream-like experiences, which is what you're looking for I bet. Anyway, the toxicity comes from cardiac failure which you will most likely not survive, so if you have a heart condition it's out of the question. I'd suggest against doing it because it's very easy to overdose on AND nobody knows how much a regular dose is. Oh and most of the people who've done it can't remember anything that went on during their experience or had extremely frightening ones. The risk is just too high and we know too little. I don't know if this makes a difference, but if you are going to do it anyway, eat seeds as opposed to smoking it. Hope I helped.
