how vivid are your dreams ?

is it possible to have dreams as vivid as real life when your in them , down to all the details ?
when i write my dreams into my dream journal, i can remember lots and lots of stuff but usually just on what happened, like the plot and stuff
i can't exactly remember what was lying on the table behind the guy i was talking too and stuff, is this normal or just me ?
and is there a way to increase the detail and vividness in which i dream without taking vitamins ? and i'm already keeping a DJ, does this mean i should attempt to write everything i can in more detail or is it just not possible to dream that clear ?

Some of my dreams are very clear.
But usually when they are full of intense detail they aren't very long. I do not know why.
What I recommend is when your in the dream don't try and focus on detail, or don't try to force detail, let your brain do all the work, and imagine your in the dream body, and not the one in "real life".
If that makes sense, and maybe if you keep practicing, detail will come more clear to you.

They can be just as real, some people say they are even more real than waking, but I have yet to experience that, most of them are just like waking. Anyway, do you remember details like the one you described above in waking? If no, then there is your answer, if yes, then, don't know.
Also, journaling is the best way without vitamins, you could try having a diet high on b6 and b12 though.
      Totally possible, don't get discouraged!

They say high-lucidity dreams are typically a lot more vivid than non-lucid dreams. For me, it varies, but it's rare that I have a dream as vivid as real life.
      Give me the night!

Normally lucids you only remember "the thing lying behind the guy i was talking to" if you look at it or if you want to remember it.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Mine are usually about as good as real life. Sometimes its worse though, for example, I couldn't remember where the hell I was standing in my dream last night. I woke up pretty much halfway and only remembered blurry gray masses.
I have also seen some dreams more vivid than real life, what Walms mentioned. For me they are extremely rare, but damn well worth every second. Can't really describe the feeling, but having one immediately makes my day.

I often look at the surrounding landscape in my dreams. And mine are very well created. I was somewhere that exists in RL, and i noticed the trees were well put together. Cars were driving normally along the road. People were parked in parking lots. The sky had some clouds but not too many. Dreams only use what we know obviously, so they can be as real or realer than we know.

My dreams are usually extremely vivid. Last night I had a nightmare which was so vivid I woke up freaking out because I could've sworn it was actually happening. I think it all depends on the person. I find when I nap, or when I first go to sleep my dreams are alot more vivid then in the wee hours of the morning.

Mine are extraordinary vivid. I can enter a dream and not even know it I feel pain everything is the way i left it it's kinda a pain because on occasion I've tried to wild in to a dream in a dream only to open my eyes and then get frustrated and wake up in SP.

I think we lost you after the first sentence...

My dreams used to be insanely vivid, when I was really young. Nowadays I'll have some flashes of brilliance and vividness, although with training and journaling, I know I'm going to get them back to where they were Last night was sort of a breakthrough, while the dream itself was not overly special, there was something about the emotions and intensity of those emotions that made it feel like the sort of dreams I had when I was younger. So real. Made my day.

My advice to you would be to meditate to yourself about remembering your dreams and the vividness of your dreams - positive affirmations are not mumbo-jumbo bullshit. They are now understood to be powerful methods for conveying your intentions to your subconscious, and they work.

If by vivid you mean all 5 of my senses function fully, then yes, I often taste, smell, hear, and feel in dreams, along with seeing. One of my lucid dreams was actually more real than waking life, as someone mentioned earlier. It's strange... but I was experiencing so much at once. Probably because the brain processes time differently while sleeping, and time "slows down" allowing more of the senses to be recognized.
