      Question about WILD

      Hey everyone
I've been gone for a little while, however I'm back now, not only after seeing inception but also because it's almost Christmas holiday so plenty of time to LD

Now as I'm rapidly regaining dream recall again, and I'm in no doubt that I'll be LD'ing again soon, however I still have a question about WILDing.

Most of my LD's have been random DILDs (even without RC) however they don't occur that much. I have had two successful WILD attempts, which were both during the morning after approx. 6 hours of sleep. (you could say these were WBTB WILDs)

I tried WILDing this morning(after 10 hours of sleep) and got very close, but I just couldn't get to SP. I guess this was because I had already had too much sleep and wasn't tired anymore.

I've also heard you can't WILD in the evening (before going into your regular sleep) because you don't enter REM immediately.

This leaves me wondering, which are the optimal times to WILD? During which part of the day do you guys have the most success WILDing?

PS: Oh, and DEILD means you stay in SP after waking up, and enter sleep again right?
now don't forget about the main question

I've heard the best times are in the middle of the night after 5 - 6 hours of sleep, and during the day, after being awake for a few hours (nap). It's really hard to WILD right when getting into bed, for one you're not usually in REM at the time, and that's crucial because dreams form during that phase of sleep.

Mind you, I've entered SP when getting into bed before, but it went away rather quickly.

And yeah, DEILD's basically staying still after you wake up, keeping your breathing pattern steady, and imagining dream sensations (touch, smell, sight) to trick your body into placing you back in another dream.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

One can WILD at the start of a regular sleep session simply by utilizing simple visualization techniques. By definition, however, this could be considered a MILD (Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream) I really don't like the acronym MILD as, by definition, a mnemonic is any technique that aids memory. But it is what it is. Try deep relaxation techniques and visualization and you might be able to squeeze out an LD or three.
