Question My dreams are so realistic that I'm not finding dream cues.

I'm a full time student and I work part time. I'm not a very outgoing person, so I see the same locations everyday. All my dreams reflect my everyday life. My dreams are never creative. In my dreams, I'm either at a school I've once attended, or at a job I've once held. There is nothing wildly strange that ever happens in my dreams that makes my conscious question it. Is my life just too boring to have lucid dreams? I cant remember the last time I've even had a nightmare. What do I need to do during the day to add more creativity to my dreams?

I'm the same way when I'm working and attending school. I found it a good thing because since I dreamt so much about work, I would do more reality checks at work and question whether I was dreaming or not more often. Also I would stop and just look at my surroundings while working and just observe everything and see if anything was strange. It would also help me be more aware of everything. And awareness is key when it comes to lucid dreaming. The more you are aware in your waking life, the more you will be aware during your dreams. So when your at work or school, just observe things more often and it should help. Good luck and hope this helps. Just remember that awareness is very importnant when it come to lucid dreaming and it is also very helpful in life.

Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Add creativity in your life. Daydream on campus.

I agree with NrElAx about being aware too, that's what it's all really about if you think about it.

With your problem though, I think it's because you suffer from some imaginative restriction. Not that you don't have an imagination, it's just that you're probably ignoring it. I've been there as a full time student; taking the same route each day, relying on my intellectual mind so much, the pressure, the stress. That's where you are.

You need to get your mind out of the box and allow yourself to daydream a little more freely. Watch things that interest you, things you'd like to dream about that are different from your waking life, and fantasize about them when you're going to school. Inspire your imagination. While you're walking for instance, look at the scenery around you and imagine how it would feel like if you were flying around there instead, and SEE it happen in the same exact setting and circumstance. You can change it up a bit and see yourself grow out wings and soaring higher than the trees or whatever you like. All I can say is that when I started doing this type of scenic daydreaming, it was so fun I couldn't wait for my solitary walks.

My point is, challenge your reality by using the power of your imagination. Make your daydreams exciting and exciting dreams will follow. If you're not used to this, it may seem difficult at first, but once you try it I know you'll have more exciting dreams. Imagine things that excite you even if they don't make sense. Everything starts with your inner world. A little irrationality is always good.

Yes everything listed above is great but I've got even more advice. If you follow all this your dreams should be crazy.

When i'm taking classes my dreams are the same way. Very mundane, similar, and not spontaneous. You can try simple things like driving a different way to school or sitting in a different seat or talking to a classmate you haven't got to know. Simple things like this will do wonders for you. And it will make your day to day life more interesting. Just shake up your routine so your life doesn't feel repetitive.

I agree 100%. Shocking the routine has got to be one of the most powerful ways to shake things up in your inner world.
      Thanks for the reminder Zebrah.

      My pleasure

But yeah I hate mundane dreams because having a DILD is just that much harder. I'm going to be needing this advice once my semester starts. Another tip would be to volunteer at school or join a club. Just be active and have fun

some great advice on this thread. you have to find ways to use your own type of dreams to your advantage. you could even concentrate on using boredom/normality as your major dreamsign. ie whenever you realise you are still in your normal routine, do an rc and soon you will start to do them at the important times. try listening to some different music before bed, reading some odd books or watching some films. these could all spill over into your dreams and make them more interesting. good luck

Yeah, make your dreams an advantage, just make RCs randomly during your normal life, that should sufice. After all, my dreams were of me waking up and going to school for just so long, I had around 6 or more FAs/day for nearly all my life. I started doing a RC for extended periods of time, that was enough to bring me into lucidty in most of my dreams.
