Thread: How long did it take you to attain your Lucidity?

I have seen a thread or two on how long it took to get your first Lucid Dream, but I really wanted to do a poll to see it visually.

Please take my poll so I can get a good idea.

5 months

Within 2 weeks just by keeping a dream journal.

Within 3 weeks of hearing about it. Didn't keep a dream journal or anything.

The dream was a mess and lasted less than 5 seconds.

My first proper lucid was like a year after that. The dream lasted at least 1.5 minutes. I had full control and all. It was my 3rd lucid.


I thought that I should start putting effort into it. I could have lucids more often than one in two months or something, like I do now.

When I first tried to induce Lucid dreams I had one that night, without even having a dream journal or anything. But I think it was just that I was so intent on having one that it happened, because it hasn't happened that much since.

Had my first one within 2 weeks. It wasn't very vivid, long, or stable though.

2 days that was becuase I read everything I needed to know to prepare my first lucid dream also lots (I mean lots) of displine

lolz this is how i found out about LDing too.

3 weeks. Did MILD & WBTB and a dream journal since I've heard about LDs. It only lasted for 30 secs. My 2nd LD came 5 months after the first one.

heard about lucid dreaming from my best friend about 3 or 4 months ago and had my first lucid
when I came back to school from semester break. Had my second about a week later.

3 days but now I have been on a dry spell for like a month now

Been trying for 6 months now and still nothing....

About two months. I wasn't trying to eagerly to become lucid though. I've always enjoyed having and recording non-lucid dreams more.

6 months because of my exams (I started LDing last year in May and still have just 6...) >_<

I had just recently found out about lucid dreaming and became extremely interested in becoming lucid myself in 2008 and stumbled upon this site thanks to a search engine.

After 2 weeks of lurking this forum and reading all I could about lucid dreaming while keeping my first serious dream journal I finally got my first lucid.

Only 3 Days baby!

less than a week. nailed it on the second day of attempt. lasted 15 minutes. full control. no RCs and DJs ever. sadly, i haven't had another LD yet. XD

I got a false awakening two days after I learned about lucid dreaming, and got my first lucid about a week after that

I think I got quite lucky, my lucids have stayed pretty regular since then. I'm picking myself back up after a short dry spell though, but all is good.
