Problem with getting up in a dream?

So today I woke up and attempted to WILD. In around five seconds I entered it, with hallucinations entering the dream. Woke up in the dream, but for some reason my eyelids were flickering and only half open. I checked reality and decided it was a dream. As soon as I tried to open my eyes and stand I woke up and did just that. Anyone know what happened and how I can prevent this? I did try rubbing my hands as soon as I arrived and licked my bed, so it should have stabilized just a bit at the very least.

Hmm because you stabilized there isn't a whole lot I can recommend.

Next time just realize that you are in control and can do anything you want. It is all in your head. Just believe you can do it and you will have success.

      Patience, young Betropper.
Next time you WILD, try and walk around, feeling the walls and using your other senses before opening your eyes. Once all your senses are clear/vivid, open your eyes.

-I remember reading about someone who didn't open their eyes until they knocked over one of the walls in their house.

Next time, try to relax there in bed for a few more moments and let everything settle down around you. Once you attempt to stand up, use slow methodical movements and stay relaxed as possible. Now perform a few stabilization techniques to try and clear things up a bit. If it doesn't seem to be working, go ahead and walk to a different locations (different room) and try again. Sometimes, it just takes the dream a few moments to completely settle in. If you aren't able to hold on to the dream and feel yourself waking up, I would suggest trying a DEILD, so you can enter right back into the dream state. Just lay completely still with your eyes closed and relax. You will feel yourself wake up briefly and then enter right back into the dream state after only a few moments.

Thanks for the insight everyone, I think it probably was that I was too exited and confused at what was going on at first. I'll try being more patient and relaxed next time!

Another strange thing happened to me last night, two in fact.
I tried to WILD at night, only entered SP and stayed in it for aroun a few hours, no halucinations.
And I had a dream last night, that was like my usual dreams (not very vivid, just complex thoughts in my sleep) and I realized it was a dream. But as soon as I did, the dream's vividness became so low I was both awake and asleep at the same time. I was still in SP but I could see my eyelids and the dream was in my head.

I just have loads of problems don't I

This actually happened to me (the being stuck in my bed despite being in a dream) except it wasn't after a WILD attempt I was just lucid while stuck in my bed (I knew I was definitely dreaming as I did RC's)

Yupp, I know exactly what your saying. I've actually gone from being in the dream world to real world back and forth, while being in each state every like 5 seconds. If you can move then you still need to stabilize then. Try to just float out of bed, that has worked for me.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Don't worry about the problems. Everyone has things like this happen from time to time, especially when they are first starting out.

If the dream fades like this as soon as you become lucid, just try to keep your eyes closed and don't move. Just stay still and try to give your dream time to settle. Soon you should break the connection with your waking body and the dream state will take over. Sometimes in a lucid dream when things get foggy/blurry/or start going wrong, you just have to stop what you are doing, don't move and let the dream settle on its own. Once you are fully in the dream again, you can perform some stabilization techniques to try and keep it that way.
