What makes your dreams and lucid dreams are more vivid and clear?

Hi guys! Share your observations! What makes your dreams and lucid dreams are more vivid and clear (including lucid aids)?
P.S. Sorry for my English, I don't speak in it for a long time..

I don't have a lot of lucid experiences. Grand total of one LD in my life. I noticed that in my normal non-lucid dreams everything looks plain and normal just like in real life.
In my lucid everything i looked at had a certain glow around it , everything was shiny. Reminds me of an altered mindstate i have some experience with.

      I don't take supplements
but what makes my lucids more clear, is voice commands and grounding myself. and trying not to get carried away, it will cause the dream to fade.
right when I become lucid, I get in tact with all of my senses, and yell out "clarify dream"
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.

Let's see, I find that Nicotine patches really increased my ability to remember dreams. Also Chantix has been helpful, not as much as the patch though. The only problem is if you don't smoke, then you really shouldn't take either of these. The patch will probably make you sick if you aren't a smoker and the Chantix is by prescription only and expensive as well. I know this probably isn't all that helpful to you but those two chemicals really affected my dreams.

I don't have much experience with lucid dreams yet but in my experience a banana before bed seems to make my dreams more vivid. I have heard this is because of b6 or b12 vitamins. I have also had success with a mantra specifically for more vivid dreams like "my dreams are long and vivid."

Kinda just replying to this because hashmash89 has a very similar avatar to me which I didn't expect (Mandelbrot set in the complex plane if anyone's interested) but I also just had my first lengthy Lucid where I tried out a variety of techniques to make it more vivid. Personally I found the technique of using all your senses good. Like feeling the breeze, how hot/cold it is and examining the landscape carefully etc.

      Hard to say.
recently I was attempting to WILD and I began to lucid dream, but everything was dark, grainy, and black and white. I woke up and immediately began another lucid dream. This one was very bright, vivid, and realistic.

I'm not sure what made the first dream so dull and the second one so vivid. Possibly I just wasn't deeply asleep enough during the first one.
      It's all in your head.

Thanks for your answers! I am now wondering what is responsible for the inner vision (imagination and dreams)? And to it efforts to raise the level of acetylcholine ...?

Repeated subconscious auditory suggestions like "are u dreaming" seem to make my dreams more vivid. I think its my minds way of telling me Im dreaming its up to me to wake up and realize what the teacher wrote on the board makes absolutely no sense, i must be dreaming. namaste.

Engage your senses. Taste something, smell something, listen to the sounds of your surroundings (the sound of your voice works very well, so do conversations with dream characters), touch whatever you can get your hands on, and take a good look at everything - pay attention to details.

Aye, it seems to me having clearer dreams is a direct result of engaging with other people more intimately.

I think this guy is onto the right idea, because I'm having the same problem with my dreams except they are all when I'm about to wake up. Maybe to make my dreams more vivid they need to be more in the middle of the night when im in a deep sleep.
