      Frustrated with outcome

Well, I just joined this forum, but I've been trying to gain lucidity for over a year. I've tried plenty of techniques, to no avail.
It seems every time I do gain lucidity, which hasn't been much to say the truth, it's rather random at the times it comes, and I've become a little frustrated with how none of the techniques I've tried work.

So on that note, anybody here know any good techniques or any ways to help lucidity come?

If you need any additional information, let me know

Thanks in advanced for the help

Try my techniuqe, in my sig?
Can you expand on your problems? tell me what you've tried, and for how long per techniuqe, are you keeping a dream journal?
Please feel free to check out my DEILD guide: http://bit.ly/2DOqiyT

Yup, I kept a dream journal for about 6-7 months, it didn't have any apparent change, so my use of that has not stopped, but it's been used less. With a dream journal, I would still remember dreams about the same amount I would without one ( 2-4 times a week ) and had no showing signs of helping with lucid dreaming.

I tried wild for a good two months, with no success, mild I tried, but considering my body has conditioned itself to staying awake after sleeping, that just led to exhaustion.
I have tried DEILD, and even when I would get back to sleep, I would not get back into my previous dream. I tried this for a little longer, three months., still little to no success
I've tried about 4 other techniques as well, each for about a month or two that included music and the like, and every time, it has ended without success.

I'm not sure if my brain just doesn't want to lucid dream or what, but that's what I'm hoping to find out XD

Well, I can't tell if this is the case, but you probably can: lack of belief. There is not one technique in the world that can get you results if you don't fully believe in it. After trying a few techniques, did you get frustrated by it and such? (Perhaps that was a stupid question considering the name of the thread, but still.) I can imagine that no succes with a lot of techniques gets you frustrated though. It might be a good idea to stop trying completely for about 2-3 weeks, and then try again with new energy. This seems to help highly often.

You need to believe. You even gotta do it in a lucid dream to control it.

Haha, well actually, I have put full faith in each technique.

At times, it would be frustrating considering I know most people have gained lucidity by the point I'm at. Though, it was more irritating than anything else

actually, funny you mention this, this is what I am doing right now. Considering I have a week long break, I'm going to get back into it then.

As well, do you think that going back and retrying a couple techniques would be best?

It took me 2-3 months to get into lucid dreaming. I had read about WILDs and knew that was what I wanted to do, but every night ended in failure. None of the techniques worked for me, and I got frustrated. I didn't want to keep losing sleep for something that never worked. But eventually I got to WILDs, and they're so amazing. I never even kept a dream journal.
So yeah, first you probably want to take a break, like you're doing. Go to sleep normally for a while and sort of forget about lucid dreaming. Then when you come back to it, read about other people's dreams, and think about what you'd like to do most in a dream. I really wanted to talk to a few certain people, and this was a great motivator to try again. Even though WILD failure is frustrating, sometimes I'd get a consolation prize of a DILD or something. Also, you might want to only WILD on the weekends. I get about 6-8 hours of sleep a night, and that's usually not enough leeway to spend time WILDing. On the weekends I wake up naturally some time around 6:30 and I can WILD or DEILD then.
I experimented with different waking times and techniques. But the funny thing is, what works now for me is basically getting woken up/waking up in the night, and then rolling over and going back to sleep. Somewhere in drifting in and out of consciousness, I manage to WILD. No counting, anchors, mantras...I'll just start feeling vibrations in the night. And if not, I wouldn't have wasted an hour lying in some frozen, uncomfortable position counting down the time. The trick is to not expect it. I read some dreamviews before bed and imagine who I want to see in my dream, where I want to go, that sort of thing, before bed. That way it's in my head. But WILDing for me is very passive and sometimes hit or miss. And if my WILD fails, I can sometimes DEILD the night away. It's all about finding what works best for you. Good luck.
We were always dreaming of how it was going to be.

Yeah, something that initially has no results can be very effective later on. Of course, some techniques don't fit in your life, whether they work or not. If that is the case for a technique I don't think you should retry it. For example, I don't like to do CAT, because I need to stick to a strict schedule, and I'm not the type to stick exactly to one bedtime.
If a technique really appalled to you but had no results, it's definitely a good idea to try it again.
