I don't think to myself "Tonight I am going to DEILD". I am both passive and direct when it comes to lucid dreaming. Because I practice the WILD technique every time I go to bed by using Robert Monroes guided meditation or Gateway Experience Waves. --> Youtube search "Monroe Gateway Experience Orientation" to find the first CD Wave.
Although I don't have the mindset of "Ah I want to lucid dream so badly" or "Tonight I am going to lucid dream" because that attitude did more harm than good in my years of practice.
Because you get disappointed and frustrated if you don't manage to get one which cause stress which lead to lack of recall which lead to lack of motivation.
So now I am more like ok going to sleep making an attempt and if I wake up and feel those sensations that let me know I can separate I just get out of bed and have a lucid moment.
I won't lie, my experiences aren't fully stable and easy to control so the lucidity often fades so don't expect to have full a blown adventure just because your lucid, it takes a little practice.
Except one time two nights ago actually (you can read it in my DJ). Then I had a super vivid experience, as vivid as physical reality and real life.
So I see DEILD as more of an opportunity than a technique for me, although I know people who have practiced and learned to do it more controllable, which you will learn in that ebook.
Although if it was that easy then everyone would know how to lucid dream by now, so it's better to learn by your own experiences, but DEILD is definitely the best way to start in my opinion.
If you have any other questions go ahead, but I think I covered what you need to know
