      Dedicated Dream Recall or DIELD?

hey guys, so when i wake up in the middle of the night i usually have to make a choice, i either try to remain still and enter back into my dream using DIELD, or i can wake up grab my recorder and record my dreams with detail.

But im not sure what to do, ive been choosing DIELD for the past few weeks but ive had no luck, i just really wanna become lucid again because its been a while and i really miss the realistic experience, any advice? thanks.

If you have good recall already, or if you are able to remember some dreams in the mornig, I would go with DEILD. But conditions for DEILD have to be right.

      1. You have to wake up from a dream
      2. You can't wake up too much, in fact, need to stay in half-asleep state
      3. Can't move, or open eyes, so you stay in REM, as if you were still asleep

If after few minutes you realize it will not happen, get up and write in your DJ, if you wish. Stay up little longer and do WBTB. Then either go for a WILD or a DILD, or both (start WILDing, if you fall asleep, you have a better chance for DILD because of WBTB). Start with saying mantras and maybe visualizing, or any other method you prefer for WILD. Mantras will also help with DILD.

Usually it's good to stick with one method for at least a few weeks. But after that, it's ok to mix it up a little. Make it interesting for you and so it doesn't become too much of a rutine.

If you have not done so yet, check out the DV Academy for some classes. Happy dreams

If you wake up early from a dream you have a rare great opportunity to DEILD... visualize the dream you were having (if you can remember it) or the last dream you can recall. Getting up, writing in a DJ, or even simply opening your eyes for too long of time can ruin this opportunity.

I have had the same problem lately. I simply write my DJ if I have to pee, otherwise I try to DEILD

As long as you can remember your dreams in the morning. If you can't, you may want to consider writing down your dreams instead of DEILDing, because from what I see, you have tried multiple times to DEILD but to no avail, so maybe it isn't your strong point.

Right guys i just started recording my dreams everytime i wake up from my REM state in the night and recall them with as much detail as i can, instead of lying still and trying DIELD, this has given me 2 lucid dreams in 2 nights! smashing my dry spell of nearly 2 months.
I think this has worked because in the dreams after i woke up and did my recall, the DC's kept talking about things that i did in previous dreams, and i recognised it and said "wait but that was a dream, the only way you could know that is if this were a dream aswell" triggering my lucidity

Oh nice!! Congrats on the lucids!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
