      I can't lucid no more!

Hi everyone! Here's my situation: i've had a ld when i was i child (because i wanted to understand if dream are controllable) but i didn't like it (i had 0 control ) then during this summer, while i was on polyphasic sleep, i read about RC and had 2 almost uncontrolled ld (without RC in it!), then a little more controlled one, but i tried to do too difficult tasks, such as make light from my hands, and then a nice LD in which i flew a bit and this one has been on 5 December, a lot of time ago! I've also had some SP and preLD (once this night) during this period, but i know i'm doing something wrong, because as i started to be informed about techniques i didn't have another one!
Another thing, usually i remember very short dreams to report in my DJ, and they are not so vivid.

Do you have any advice about these two problems?

Saying you can't lucid wont help you. If you expect yourself to have lucids then you will find it easier One thing to help you further though is; stick with one technique and stay focused on it. Generally speaking a technique needs to be focused on for at least a month before you can say it doesn't work for you

Your recall on the other hand is affected by many things but will usually get better the more you Dream Journal. Small things such as going to bed a few hours earlier and writing down the days activities can largely extend recall. Vivid is a bit harder to induce, if I want vivid dreams I usually eat a small amont of cheese before bed or may I recommend to you dream incubation. Make up your dream in the daytime, daydream it, imagine it. It might take a few days but after that you should have a dream to step in to through your chosen method and because you've already built it before hand it should be fairly vivid

Dream control is a little strange, some people have it right away and others it takes months to learn but you'll get there with practice

Don't flip, it seems like you we're a bit of natural. Maybe your dream recall has gone awry. Just start out from the start like all the newbies since it seems like you haven't had a proper 'lucid education'. And I reckon since you already have experience, you'll be LDing in a short amount of time.

Ahh sleeping through school is not recommended. nevertheless incubating dreams is just as fun as having them

a regular sleep schedule will help you a LOT. try meditation before sleep.
also, don't smoke weed or drink as these both as an adverse effect on REM cycles.

don't worry about controlling your dreams. just do what comes naturally.

I'm trying to regulariza my sleep, but it's hard now during holidays However when school start again i'll make it perfect
I meditated sometimes before sleep, and it made its effects, so i thing i'll start it again.
I've smoked and I've drunk very few times in my life Probably it will pass a long time until i drink or smoke again, maybe it will nor happen

Double check all your techniques. Make sure you write down when your dreams are more vivid and enjoyable. Make sure to write down what you did prior to sleep or during sleep that helped. DJ isn't just for recall, it is also to get more vivid and awesome dreams. I would also say write down how long the dream seemed to last.

Getting your sleep schedule right is crazy hard, but I can't LD very well unless I am on a good schedule.

ok sorry if i sounded harsh about the smoking weed and drinking thing, but i used to LD a LOT and then got into smoking weed and it basically stopped by ability to lucid dream.. or remember my dreams, or really dream at all.
here is a good meditation technique before bed. if you combine it with a pneumonic technique (just repeat "I lucid dream" or "i have lucid dreams tonight" something like that over and over while doing the meditation) it should have profound effects. so before sleep lay in bed on your back with arms out palms up and legs a little apart (maybe shoulder width?) and start doing slow breathing in through your nose for maybe 3 or 4 counts hold for 1 or 2 and release through the mouth for 3 or 4 counts and hold for 1 or 2.. repeat. you don't "have" to count. it just helped me at first. when you breathe in try to breathe down into your tummy and when you breathe out do it through your chest. relax, relax, relax. imagine relaxing every muscle in your body. especially your back.. which tends to stay tense. i usually start with my hands and move up to forearms, upper arms, shoulders, etc... you don't have to breathe super deeply because this will tense your muscles up. also sometimes i only breath in and out through my nose to avoid saliva build-up and having to swallow all the time. choose what works best for you!
after you have breathing down and are significantly relaxed, focus on a point about 3 inches from your face in between your eyes. it doesn't have to be on your "third eye" or whatever, but that may help. after a little while you may start to see weird stuff.. i usually see like a strange purple or blue orby thing. don't worry about it, actually just stare right through it at the same point. try to stay focused on one point and don't let your eyes wander. don't focus to hard though! remember this is also about relaxing your whole body. after a while you may have a WILD, i wouldn't worry about it. if you've been repeating the mantra or pneumonic technique ("i will have lucid dreams tonight") to yourself.. that is GREAT! after a significant amount of time.. remember the longer the better. you can open your eyes slowly, wiggle your fingers and toes a little bit, and roll over and fall asleep. sometimes i fall asleep on my back like that but then i usually wake up with SP (sleep paralysis) and that can be kinda freaky.
If i do this, I almost ALWAYS have success.. i know the dedication/discipline involved here may suck. but trust me, it HELPS a lot.. also. sometimes i don't do it right before bed. i tend to wake up naturally after about 3 or 4 hours of sleep at night, and then I definitely do this. surefire way to have lucid dreams, and raised awareness in general.
      good luck!

This is very detailed, I will try it tonight One question though; when you're focusing on the point 3 inches from your eyes, do your eyes have to be open or closed?

i always close my eyes, although sometimes they seem to come open just a little (maybe from being so relaxed). and it doesn't HAVE to be three inches. just a distance that is relatively close to your face. it may feel like your eyes are crossed, but that is ok.. (i've looked it up and seems to happen to a lot of people with no negative side-effects) don't worry about that. the reason i don't say to focus on your "third eye" is because when i do that, my eyes seem to freak out and move around a LOT. i also picture myself seeing through the blackness of my eyelids past that towards something else.
i really do hope this helps. and one more thing. i wouldn't expect immediate results. so don't get all frustrated if it doesn't happen the first night. the second night.. or even the third.. but i am fairly sure that you should have results within a week.

@Haeretic I know!! Sleeping in places that have a lot of light pollution make it difficult for me too! Glad you were able to have a lucid though! yayy!!

@djpatch999 Thats awesome! and yes, recall is definitely the first step towards lucidity.

btw.. i was noticing last night about the "point about 3 inches from your face" you may want to disregard that. perhaps its easier if you focus on a point that is 3 feet away. what is more important is to focus on a single point and not let your eyes wander around a lot. if you stray in thought or let your eyes wander, don't fret. just bring it back to the same point.
also, i forgot to mention something that may seem important. you might feel vibrations run along your body while doing this. this is totally normal and some people would tell you that it is "prana" (life force).. and its a good sign. don't pay to much attention to it. don't focus on it.. maybe just see it as a signpost on your path that you are on the right road.

That makes sense I've done WILD before, I don't feel vibrations or get much hynogogic (spelling :L) imagery, it's strange
