      Question ADA complex

guys, i've been trying to solve this enigma all by myself but....
ADA sounds more hard than it actually is for me, i try to get aware of all of
my surroundings all day, but it is too hard to paying attention to all the stuff
it happens around me, in other words, i can't get aware of everything at the same time.
how you guys do it? i started ADA like 5 days ago, i've been doing ADA sessions over 8 months.

You're not meant to be aware of "everything". You just have to try push the limits of your awareness, what you are trying to achieve is becoming a natural at being slightly more aware in general. Being able to easily notice subtle differences in temperature or smell, and noticing things that are out of place etc. It's impossible for any human to focus on all there senses at once.
It's similar to getting in the right hunting mindset, you need to constantly keep an eye out for changes or little signs, not everything, just what will lead you to your goal.

I would say it's better to be marginally more aware for most of the day than largely aware for only 10 minutes.

Just a question. Is it normal that i get lost in my thoughts and forget my awareness?
this quite happens to me often

It happens from time to time because you're trying to keep up your concentration but you can only do so for so long. The more you practice, the longer you can keep up your focus.

Something I like to do to help me out is to try to narrate what I'm doing in my head. It keeps me aware of my actions, and keeps me questioning whether what I'm doing is normal or not.

i use the narrating thing as well, i move my hand
      and my mind is like

"look, you're moving your hand" lol

in a nutshell i try to be aware of what i'm doing

i wonder if this is the right route

Let me begin by saying that I don't practice "ADA" as per what it may mean on this site. Maybe I do, but I haven't read the actual tutorial so King Yoshi's method may be different than I assume.

First I focused on concentration, and once I became good with that I moved on to "insight meditation" (being mindful of all that distracts you as well as your chosen object of concentration, and more; which is more like ADA).

For just the concentration I focused on one object at a time, trying to become "absorbed" into it fully. This is not required for lucid dreaming, but it will be a great help for you in controlling your mind so that you can move on to a wider awareness. I bring this up because it can be used within your "ADA" practice at will. For example if you become confused with too much sensory input or you are having trouble with ADA, you can resolve to simply focus on one thing only; such as one sound, your breath, the running water over your hands, your feet as they move over the ground, etc. You don't have to master concentration before doing regular ADA, but it can be used as a springboard into better awareness on those days when your mind just won't quiet down.

If you do attain a high level of concentration, your mind becomes very powerful, and you may find that ADA comes easy.

To do this, you first must have iron determination. This is the most important factor. When you become distracted, you don't analyze anything, just bring your mind back to the object, ignoring all else and reinforcing your determination to succeed. I found this a practical method for me because instead of jumping right into daily awareness, I merely had one goal: one object, and therefore the mind was easier to tame and program.

      Just my two cents.

I agree that mindfulness is a really important thing here, and with that, listening is a huge part of it. Listening in the sense that you aren't necessarily TRYING so hard to hear things happening, just letting them speak to you; a way to read your bodily controls and actions and your environment without the inner voice in your head dictating what things are, and more of an instantaneous response, and just "knowing" because you've simply listened. Listening while walking, for example, is just simply keeping in tune with what's in front of you and around you, and any rock in the way, or place you do not want to walk, will speak to you, because you just know.

You needn't fill your mind with "that is gross, I don't want to step in that, it will ruin my shoe, and i will have to clean it, and and and etc"; allow yourself to let go as soon as the trigger has been made. You will get lost in your own thought if you let yourself elaborate on things of the sort for too long; try to let those subtle responses to the external world become more peripheral, less useful, and trust your body with your brain's synchronicity. In order for this to work, you must not anticipate. Doing this and just relaxing and "listening" is a way to be aware at best without having that voice taking up most of your concentration.

Much like the above post, my two cents~ it's what works for me.
