I want to improve my bedtime routine for optimum lucidity, so I'm interested to know what works for you. What's your bedtime routine?

      Here's mine:
      Maybe read a book
Set alarm for 4 1/2 hours after when I think I'll fall asleep
      Turn my light off
Lie still on my back (as if to do WILD, but that's not what I'm doing)
^doing 1 to 3 minutes gets me really ready to sleep
Roll onto side and instantly fall asleep
Wake up to aforementioned alarm and try FILD or WILD

      My routine:

      Sleep at 23:30
      Natural wake up at 02:40
      Natural wake up at 05:40
      Natural wake up at 07:30
Natural and final wake up at 10:30

      Tons of opportunities for WBTB.

      For me it is:

      Before bed:
      Check my Dream goals.
      Meditate
      Prepare my DJ
      Lay still in bed
Tell myself out loud that I will have fun dreams, that I will wake up after each dreams and that I will be aware of my dreams.
      Visualize my dream goals
      Sleep

Then with every time I naturally awake:
Lay still and remember my dream
Fill in my list of questions about the dream and write down some tags
Make sure I am awake enough
      Attempt WILD
If it takes to long, go to sleep believing I will DILD

That's about it. I am really bad at WILDing still though.

Wow, 15 minutes to fall asleep!? I usually need 1,5 hours just to get sleepy and that is me going to bed at midnight having been awake for whole day.
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...

Yeah, I need an avarage of 15 minutes to fall asleep, I go to bed at like 23:30, relax a bit, and 'go to sleep' at 23:45

Well, I don't have a really elaborate bedtime routine. Normally, I just prepare my DJ and lay in bed until I fall asleep, maybe thinking about lucid dreaming. I then naturally wake up between 4 and 5 am, depending on the time I go to sleep, and I take a while to write down the previous dreams, go to the toilet and do a WBTB. Then, I wake up naturally again before 7 am, but this time I don't spend so much time awake. From then on, it's all morning naps for a couple of hours. I find getting up in the early hours of the morning to be the easiest way for me to get a lucid now and then.

      most common:
      • make a "pre-bedtime" voice DJ entry
      • put my feet up and relax, release tension
      • set intention for dream content, dream recall, lucid dreaming
      • make a "bedtime" voice DJ entry
      • put in earplugs, put on sleep mask, maybe renee

      - pinch of hot sauce and full glass of water
      - lay in bed with lights off
      - meditate for ten to fifteen minutes, fully relaxed and feeling free-flowing energy
      - keeping eyes closed and in deep relaxation, imagine myself becoming lucid
      - tell myself what I will try to do in tonights lucid
      - wake from meditation and push lucid dreaming from my mind completely, sleep.

There's supposed to be a bedtime routine???

Seriously, though, I never had a bedtime routine myself; I figure if I'm not ready to dream long before bedtime, there isn't much point in starting right when I fall asleep.

Of course I say that as I sit here watching old movies while I stay up till about 3am so I'm at just the right spot in my sleep cycle when I do my WILD dive at 8 tomorrow...just like I do every Tuesday night... hmm, maybe there is some routine thing going on after all...

How do you know that this world isn't as real, or as important, as the one you live in?

Fix my pillows and get excited by the fact that I am practising.

Set my intent to become aware of my dreams.

Relax and observe the mind and the process of relaxation and enjoy the moment.

I lie down in bed and then go to sleep. :p

Then when I wake up in the morning, I get up and walk around a bit while my brain throws all last night's dreams at me.

...sorry, I'm kind of boring I guess
