This is actually the only RC I use now. For instance the other day I was reading an article on the internet and at the exact same time I read the name Dylan, the television in the background said, "Dylan." I immediately RC'd. One time my friend tossed a ping pong ball over his shoulder just throwing it away. It hit a chair behind him and bounced right back into his hand before he had a chance to move it. I RC'd. I RC every time something out of the ordinary happens (odd, strange, lucky, etc.). I also RC every time I see a beautiful landscape/scenic view/etc. They have worked well for me thus far. |

This is a good technique, in theory. When dreaming, your mind shuts off all "logical" output, rendering you practically incapable of realizing what is weird and what is not. In a dream, your neighbor walking their pink, flying elephant is just as normal as them walking their dog in the real world. This is not to say that realizing something is weird won't work, but in my own experience every time I have been dreaming and something weird has happened and I realized it, I would step back, think for a minute, and then wake up (the excitement is just too much!) |
|
It doesn't have to be for only strange events. It can be for interesting, frustrating, happy, sad events. |
|
I have a list of dream signs that occur a whole lot in my dreams. I try to do reality checks whenever I see those things in waking life... sometimes I do it in dreams, other times I wake up going "what the hell, I rode a giant whale to a carnival in the middle of the ocean and I didn't even RC???" |

It was the best of times. It was the end of times.
I guess theoretically it would work, but it's never worked for me. |

Lolwut.
For dreamers who have nightmares often, RCing when you are/feel scared during waking life can also be effective. |

It worked fine with me. A lot of my LD's came through this way. My problem starts when I'm into a stressful day (most of the time) because of I lose my state of awareness and I don't see any strange event although it's happening in front of me. Once I'm dreaming, same thing happens. |
|
I RC whenever, not necessarily when I see something weird. I don't even usually come across things that are unusual. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
