Thread: How did you get your first LD?

Since you said get, I induced my first lucid through a WILD, when I first went to bed, was determined to have one, so stayed up for around... 3 hours before finally feeling like I was falling asleep, then tried my best to stay aware and once in the dream, started to look for a RC.

All of those poll options can be classified as DILD or WILD. But anyways, my first was a natural DILD. The First LD I actually tried to initiate that was successful, was a WILD.

Indeed, they can be classified as so. They can also be, if you're trying to be really especific, separated in the way i did(although i am quite sure that i missed many more variations of the main two).

eh... i wish i could just get a DILD too. I only managed to get lucid once

Yeah my first lucid was a DILD back in '04. I realized I was dreaming right away and I remembered something I read on this site to either focus on your hand or spin to stabilize the dream. I did both and I had a great ol' time. I believe the most common 1st lucid is from a DILD.

It was yrs ago when I was prob in elementary school. I just became aware that I could wake up if I wanted to, but I could keep dreaming if I kept my eyes shut. Then in high school I had the same thing happen. Sucked that both were nightmares, lol

My first actual TRY to become lucid I think was a WILD. I took a nap with the intent to WILD, but I think I actually just fell asleep and then became lucid because I was in that mode, so I think I actually DILD. I should change my sig... w/e

I think it was a natural DILD. First time was when i was 4 or 5 years old.

Damn, forgot it was a DEILD but i choose DILD...well...

I think I had a lucid dream when I was 7 years old. I only remember of my friends being mad at me (like they wanted to grab me) and then I started to run from them as the spider man xDD

DILD when I was really young but I had no control over it, was just watching what was happening.

Mine was a DILD I got randomly 3 years ago. Jump 2 years later is when I started getting a small handful more, and then more and more...

Although not so much younger part, more of last week...

I came very close to a WILD (only hallucinations) before but i got very bored and just got up.

DILD. i looked at a digital clock, looked away, looked back and the numbers had changed to weird symbols.

I chose other.. I was in a usual dream at first and then I touched someone and I felt someone touched me back (in real life than in the dream).. so it surprised me and I 'awoke' but not enough to open my eyes. Every time I touched someone, for example on the shoulder, I felt someone touched me on the shoulder in real life.. --So I decided to check in real life if I had touched myself instead, while keeping my eyes closed.. I was just feeling where my arms were, and they were still at my sides.

I managed to stay in the dream for a couple of minutes afterwards too and then I woke up completely

I just randomly have lucid dreams. First one that I can remember was at around the age of twelve where I had self realization that I was dreaming, which resulted in control of the dream. Anyways, haven't really been interested in controlling or understanding the mechanics until recently.

Now that I've looked at the techniques, the first lucid dream I ever had was a DILD. Typically, When I do lucid dream, I'm able to do something like a DEILD very easily as long as I don't have to stop sleeping for school or work etc.. Basically, I'm lucid dreaming, wake up a couple seconds, fall back into sleep resuming dream, continue lucid. Most I've done that in one sleep period with a lucid dream is about five times.

I dunno, I think that EILDs are different enough from DILDs and WILDs to be a separate class just because the dreamsigns have an external origin. I guess the argument could be made that all LDs are DILDs, since you have to be dreaming to realize that you are. Anyway, I don't want to derail this thread. My first was also a natural DILD.

Unkowingly at the time, it was a dild, i recognized right away that it was a dream, i have trouble remember dreams that happend a long time ago but i remember mine it was two years about and it didn't take long after i joined this forum, about a month or two after i joined i had my first lucid.
