I've only read his Astral Dynamics book (which i recommend, if you're into the whole energy work and OBE kinda thing). I haven't heard of that book though, sure sounds interesting.

It can be used for a lot of things. Chakra balancing, APs, meditation, LDs. There's also people who can manipulate someone else's energy. They can "grab" a person's energy and use it for themselves. Energy work can also be used for healing, or get energy from the elements.

Energy work makes dreams more vivid and stable as saltyseedog mentions. A week back, there was a bit of storm going around in my area. Torrents of wind were shaking things. I saw this as an opportunity and did some energy work, absorbing some natural energy from the gushing winds. I did this for a few minutes and then had my afternoon nap. What followed was that my dreams were vivid and more remember-able. I felt light as if i were a feather. I woke refreshed. It was an amazing experience. I recommend and urge everyone here to try this !

Two Grizzly bears who do energy work! Cool!
I also do energy work, energy healing to be specific. But never have read those books. I have used lucid dreams to heal people. I find them in my dreams and channel healing energy through them until they start to glow. They are usually healed in waking life the next day also.
Another thing I like to do is make a ball of energy in between my hands in my dreams and give them to DCs. I gave one to an elf and he got drunk and fell over giggling with champagne bubbles popping all around him.
If anybody is interested in the healing aspect of energy work, I recommend Hands of Light and Light Emerging by Barbara Brennan. She was a NASA rocket scientist and physicist who quit to be an energy healer.

That's nice Hussain. Although, not everyone is comfortable with storm energy. For exemple I feel a little bit dizzy when I get energy from the wind or storm. I feel a lot more comfortable with earth energy. But yes, elements are some of the best sources of energy.

Yes, I believe this is true! However it is extremely hard to achieve and it takes a lot of free time, meditation, concentration and determination. I've been practicing energy works for almost 2 years now and i'm waaay far from this guy. lol But one day, I'll be able to do it too!

Yes, this is an other way to say it. Psychic vampires are naturally born energy workers...sometimes conscious, sometimes uncoscious.

Nice way of healing bro! I never thought of it! There's a lot of different ways to heal someone. I personally use deep meditation and/or energy balls. I've never red any books. I guess it's something natural. You have to work it on your own.

I forgot to mention. Energy works can be used also to harm someone...however I don't recommend it.

Yes, I have this book! I made a thread about it a couple months back in the Inner Sanctum, but I guess I let it die down... I like doing energy work, but college keeps me busy these days. Not much time to practice dream recall, even! I do sometimes toy with it when I'm laying in bed, getting ready to fall asleep, though. That seems to be the main place and posture that I can tune into it. I can't do it as well when I'm sitting, and find it impossible when I'm standing or moving.

Same here, thats why tai-chi has been becoming of interest to me lately. I wonder if practicing it would lead to being able to gather energy during walking or other active movements, in order to build energy all day long.

Not to go too off-topic, but have any of you tried energy work on entheogens? I never bothered until one time I had vaporized some cannabis with a friend, and once he had gone home I was laying down getting ready to sleep, I noticed how incredibly easy and powerful it felt to move energy around my body. My chakras felt like they were totally on fire (in a good way). Unfortunately I was also sleepy and the music I was listening to made me drift off into sleep. I didn't have any LD's that night but I do remember I had very vivid and mystical dreams.

Getting high isn't really my thing, besides, I'm at college, with classes and work and stuff. I'll take a look into tai-chi though, I don't really know anything about it.

It is true that some drugs can amplify the meditation effect but I've never done it. Everyone can achieve that kind of stuff without any drugs.

From what I've read (and possibly mistakenly reworded), marijuana affects your energy bodies in special ways – and I am making the assumption this applies to all entheogens also. It works with your bodies – your physical body and your closest subtle energy body. Marijuana affects your physical in the obvious ways – forgetful memory (can be a con for lucid dreaming), euphoria, relaxation, etc; however, the way this is connected to your subtle energy body is very interesting. MJ supposedly expands and energizes your energy body – giving it more attention, focus, and thus consciousness. This gives you a boost in energy abilities such as feeling out your chakras, lucid dreaming, etc. I theorize that you have less physical attachment while high (less cares, less attention, more relaxation) because you are more conscious of your energy body. This exchange of consciousness might cause the effects of the physical body, too. Excuse me if I'm rambling, but this is a bit hard for me to explain. This is mostly just a theory from much experience, though!

Whenever i smoked my senses amplify. While it gets harder for me to focus on details i can comprehend bigger and bigger pictures. Sometimes when im really drifting away in my mind i suddenly become conciouss about my body and my brain kind of forms an image of my skeleton and internal organs, then i can feel my heart pumping, i feel my ribs protecing and holding it and holding it in place.

When i was younger i would sometimes move my arms and feel my arm moving, but when i look at my physical arm its not moving or its delayed and comes after the motion i tried to do.
Sometimes when i lean with my arm on the couch i would feel my arm sinking into the couch until i won't feel my arm at all.
This used to freak me out a lot because i thought i was going crazy. Now i think they might have been starts to an OBE or something like that.
To bad these things stopped happening to me, while right now i want them to happen.

What I've found with smoking is if your energy is imbalanced (depending on the strain) cannibis can help balance your energy more, but if you are already balanced then smoking can actually make you feel less balanced. its hard to explain but it does make your chakras feel like they are on fire. And the effects can vary from strain to strain. If you are a nervous anxious person one strain might help you relax and be chill but another could make you feel more anxious.
also when you are high you are much more open to the energies around you, so it might not be a good idea to smoke or be around someone who makes you feel uncomfortable.

Heh, I see a lot of "ifs" and warnings there, saltyseedog. It could be helpful for some people but I'm sure I'd rather stay drug-free.

Anyway, I've been caught with schoolwork the past few days, and as usual that puts all the interesting stuff by the wayside. But my schedule is reasonably open (through the weekend, at least), so I can give this and the other stuff I'm interested in the time they deserve. I have, though, been trying to sneak in quick energy work sessions right before I fall asleep, when I'm laying in bed. I'm too tired and out of practice to get the full effect, but it's relaxing, anyways. I haven't focused on storing any energy, just kinda "bathing" in it so to speak. I let it wash over me, enjoy the sensation for a while, then let it go. I thought of something the other day, though. I feel like you can be pretty creative with the elements of energy to draw in. No need to stick with just fire, wind, water, earth, or whatever basic elements you favor, right? I'm thinking about trying to draw in energy that will heighten my senses, perhaps even improve my lucid dreaming, or energize me, among other things. Sure there's a lot of overlap between these specifics and the general elements, but I think I do better when I think of particular energies I'm looking for, rather than trying to decide what energy that quality might best fit with.
