Thread: Immence Fear of OBE

Everytime I try to have an OBE from a lucid dream, I FEAR that I will kill myself doing it. I have gotten to the point where I am about to leave my body or where I feel that I will leave my body then I become extremely scared of killing myself, then I wake up.

The sensation I feel when I attempt to OBE scares me, my ears ring, it goes dark, and for some reason I can feel my legs leaving my body, all of this feels so strange that I am forcibly woken up. I have tried to just accept it, but I still wake up against my will.

I have found partial answers to the questions I have, however they are not that reliable.

When I have an OBE will I see something scary in my house?
Can something possess my body?
Can something cut me off from my body?
What is there to fear?

i think your fighting it too much which makes it worse, try to stop thinking off bad things just relax think of healing white light wash over you and listen to the vibrations but dont drift off to sleep
ino the feeling of being scared before obe with horrible voices you just need to let the light in and the peace to get rid of the fear, ask the angels and spirit guides to protect you
once the vibrations stop you might hear a crystalline harmony and your body will start to detach itself and you will start moving wat ever you do just keep relaxing until you are quite far away from your body else you could get sucked back in and wat a waste of effort lol

wrighty is in fact, right. fear attracts fear, and love attracts love. if you go into an OBE full of fear. its going to attract things that feed off the fear. if you go in with an open loving heart, you will only attract loving things. and this is only if you see any other beings at all! don't be afraid. most of the beings you may encounter, if you encounter any at all, will be preoccupied and won't bother you.

There is nothing to fear, it seems scary because it is such a foreign experience. You must go with the sensations. P.S. You will not die and if you get out of body and still feel terrified just the mere thought of your physical body will send you rushing or snapping back to it instantly. This reassurance is enough to start exploring and remember people have been doing this for thousands of years and there has never been a reported death from OBE-ing.

I have this same problem...I've had unintentional experiences before, and I was not scared when I was out of my body. However, I get excited, and then slightly scared when I feel my consciousness about to leave my body when I'm intentionally trying to have an OBE, and I snap out of my meditative state. It's weird, because in the back of my head I know I will be ok, but I still get scared. I think it's just the sensations that are frightening, because they are so new and foreign. I've been trying to work on this fear/excitement whenever I get the chance. I think I just have to let go of the fear, and concentrate on love and peace.

I have a fear of OBE too to be honest. I've gotten very close to doing it too. I don't think its the fear that I will die, its the fear of what I will see on the other side. I always feared like some scary demon is waiting for me when I exit the dream. This might sound weird but that's the only thing that is holding me back, OBE is a very unseal experience for me. I can totally relate to anyone with any fear in it.

I can't really give advice since I still have the fear of living because "something is waiting".

When I have an OBE will I see something scary in my house? You will only see something scary if you expect to see something scary. Like others have said already, fear attracts more fear. You could try meditating before an attempt, and while relaxing, imagine clearing your mind of any fears and anxiety. Clear your mind of any preconceived expectations. Remember that as long as you are not afraid, there is nothing to be afraid of.

Can something possess my body? No. Nothing can posses your body. However, it might help you feel safer and more relaxed if you imagine putting up a protective energy boundary around your body before going to sleep.

Can something cut me off from my body? Think of your non-physical body as being directly connected to your physical body. Nothing can come between them or keep them apart. But again, remaining calm and positive helps a great deal. Perhaps you could imagine some sort of safety line connecting your non-physical body to your physical body. I've never tried this. It's just an idea that I think could help.

What is there to fear? There is nothing to fear. As long as you remain calm and confident, you are protected from any negative experiences.
