Question Dream -> SP -> OBE -> LD

Last night was so intense omg. I'm not sure wether it was a terrifying experience or an amazing experience. It's a long story :'D. Okay so yesterday evening I wrote down on a note that I really wanted to meet my spiritual guide. So I could gather more information about 21 december 2012. I woke up at 6am and recalled this amazing dream. I was at home doing something in the garden and it started raining. So I looked up but there were no clouds in the sky. I should've become lucid at that point but I didn't. A few minutes later some teenager came to me. I noticed his t-shirt. "Don't be afraid of modern aliens" was written there. And our convo went like this:

Person: Hey, so you wanted to meet me?
Me: Are you my spiritual guide?
Person: Yes I am. (He didn't seem very convincing though).
Me: I've got loads of questions, what's going to happen on 21 dec? The ascension?
Person: Well, yeah sorta.. But not completely.
Me: Am I going to ascend, am I ready?
Person: I can't tell at the moment, I need to spend more time with you first.
Me: Aren't you suppose to know?
      Person: Well not really..
Person: So what are you like?
Me: I'm quite emotional, shy, insecure,..
      Person: Ooh I see.
Person: Our time is up now, something's going to happen today. Don't be afraid.
Me: Wait, what.. this is it?
*Everything turned black and I woke up*

I really didn't like his presence to be honest. He just didn't seem genuine. After that, I opened my dream journal and wrote down the dream. And I went back to sleep. Now things are started to get f*cked up. So I remember falling to sleep but I didn't lose consciousness. I started hearing voices and I was actually replying to them. I actually don't know what I was saying. At some point I realised: "Wait, why am I talking to people, I'm in my bed trying to fall asleep". I started hearing a high pitched sound. It was so uncomfortable. Then I started feeling electric jolts through out my entire body. This was quite painful. I knew I was about to have sleep paralysis so I tried to move my hand. But I couldn't, at this point I knew I was completely paralyzed. I opened my eyes and I started hallucination ofcourse so I closed them again. I started hearing voices again and they were saying: "Get up". Which I tried, but I couldn't cause I was paralyzed. They said: "Try again" which I did. And I could feel my astral body/soul separating from my physical body. I really didn't want to have an out of body experience but my astral body started floating. I really didn't trust these beings who were giving me instructions. So I've put myself back into my physical body. I was still paralyzed and all of a sudden.. Something pulled me out of my bed. And I started flying backwards at a huge speed. Like a rollercoaster. I honestly thought I was going to die. It stopped and I started free falling, again at a huge speed. Everything stopped I opened my eyes, everything was so blurry. I did a reality check and I was lucid. I heard beings talking. One of them said: "Well I guess he wasn't ready". Then my mother slammed the door (in real life ofcourse). And I woke up. I'm still shocked cause of this terrifying/amazing experience. What are your opinions? Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I'm not good at English.

      -Brent

Sounds pretty amazing to me Crashy I've never had an experience like that. I'm not the kind of person who believes in OBE's or AP's but I might start if I experienced what you did. Got one piece of advice for you though; Don't be afraid. You can't get hurt in the dreamworld. You'll have a more pleasant experience next time if you relax and go with the flow.

@ Yeah it was definately a great experience :'D. I'm actually quite afraid though cause people are telling me that these beings could've been evil. And that it's quite dangerous to mess around with obe/ap. They compare it to using an ouija board? :s

Sounds like a crazy dream to me. I would classify it all as dream. When you started feeling electricity your first thought was 'SP' and you went into it. Expectation can play a huge part in dreams, and you went straight from that to being in an LD. Dreams can seem ridiculously real. Especially false awakenings.

This is just another opinion though. sounds like an amazing experience either way.

I don't think many people AP without trying, so if you don't want to or are afraid of it, you don't have to worry about it happening.

Just a few examples of what people on ATS think about this. It's scaring the shit outta me D':

      1) I'm not sure what to make of this, and I am not an expert on these things. However, the thing that mainly jumped out at me was that you didn't feel comfortable with the guy in the dream. Perhaps that was your higher self or someone/something else warning you for the event that was about to happen and that you shouldn't trust them. I don't know though, but I would err on the side of caution in these matters. Again, I'm not an expert.

      2) I wouldn't trust anything these beings say. First of all, there's no guarantee that there are actually your guide(s). I've become very wary of channeling and the likes because half of the people claiming to channel are just deluded, the other half talk to unknown entities whose word they take at face value when they say they're spiritually advanced beings. How do they know?!? Just because someone is not in a human body doesn't mean they're benevolent, highly advanced beings. If in doubt, read Joe Fisher's book "The Siren Call of Hungry Ghosts." It's a pretty harrowing experience he describes and will cure you of trying to contact any strange entities. It should also be a huge red flag to you if you feel uncomfortable and don't trust the beings you meet -- from my experience, dismissing your intuition is almost never a good idea. Whenever I've overridden my inner voice, I've usually had to pay for it dearly.
Personally, I do believe I have spirit guides, but I don't try to make contact. They're around me and guide me, and I make sure whenever I call upon them, I include God and my angels into the call. I've also made it clear that I don't want any direct contact -- I've tried that when I was younger and more gullible, but like you, sometimes the answers that I heard in my mind were not trustworthy and made me feel uncomfortable, so I broke it off. I assume that my strong desire to have disincarnate entities talk to me got me into hostile territory. Remember that this is very similar to using a Ouija board... people don't get that you don't need that piece of cardboard, YOU are the conductor, and if you ask for contact, contact will be made, but you never know who comes knocking.

      3) No, don't ever dismiss your intuitions about spirits or even normal people you meet. There are evil spirits everywhere looking for access to your soul. I know this as a personal fact! If you want to meet your true spirit Guide, Pray to the Lord before you go to sleep to protect you from the bad spirits. Good luck and be safe. Sirric

      4) I would be highly cautious with those situations, who knows whats out there in the "spirit world" "another dimension" what have you. I've heard stories of people oobe'ing and there souls have gone through attempted kidnapping, and worse still i've heard of another spirit jumping into the projectors body, Just use alot of caution. Theres a very thin line between astral projection/oobe and lucid dreaming.

Well I really don't know what to think of all this. D:

It's always a good idea to protect yourself. Before you attempt anything, imagine a dome of white light around you that protects you. White is the color of good, devine, good forces...

Say: "Only entities with mine or above mine level of development can be present/can help". This will exclude any bad entities that are from astral levels of low vibrational frequencies to be around you when projecting and from helping by pulling you out.

If you encounter an entity and it doesn't feel right, than it probably is not right. Most likely they are harmless, but they are not a genuine guide/helper. You can ask if he/she is "of the light". Meaning, if it's of god. They can't lie to you about that. You can tell them to leave if they are not of the light. Any good entity will ALWAYS comply and leave if you wish so. If they don't wanna leave, you know it's not a good entity. But if you firmly but nicely tell them to leave and don't come back, they should obey.

If you just give a general invite, that gives permission to anybody to show up. That's why you have to say exactly who can be there and who can help. Read up some threads. There is a bunch of stuff around here, not just about this, but about sensations you experienced. Prepare and educate yourself more, so stuff doesn't come as a surprise. For OBEs, I recommend thread by Karen659 in Beyond dreaming. Happy travels

Rebecca from World of Lucid Dreaming.com had a very similar first experience and concluded that evil entities were trying to get her, but she changed her mind as she got older. I agree with the others that doing a protection visualisation will make you feel secure. You can still be in charge and take control of what's happening. I've heard of a few stories of entities trying to help people to AP, and saying that the person is "scared" or "not ready." Whatever they are, if they choose to leave you alone because you're not ready can they be that evil? If you struggled against it and won then you must've been in control, so maybe next time choose to go with it.

Depends what you mean harmless. If you are prone to nightmares you will probably have more vivid nightmares. And if you feel pain you will also feel more vivid pain. If you don't want to AP then you don't have to worry about entities at all, anymore then you do in non lucid dreams.

@Evokb24 Well lucid dreaming is harmless. Cause it's taking place in the dream world (it's all in your head). Ofcourse you can have nightmares, you can feel pain in your dreams,.. But astral projection takes place in the astral plane which is probably also the afterlife? I'm not sure about that though. And basically you can't control what's out there, but you can in lucid dreams. Well usually

I hate when people on AP forums try to tell you how to the laws of the AP dimensions work. None of them can truly say what is true or false. The only way you can find out is if you carefully find the answers for yourself. Sure if you believe in alien entities then you must act with caution, but just because another internet user says it's true doesn't mean it is.
Fear is a natural response to something which is mentally stronger than us, especially in the case where they can harm you. So I'd be inclined to believe that those AP forum guys are just scare mongering.
Find out for yourself, try to AP and ask questions. If you do it carefully you will either find out that entities are dangerous and end up not getting hurt or you might find that AP can be a wonderfull harmless experience.

Matte, in my case I have experience exactly what has happened to crashy. The truth is that I have experienced during sleep paralysis that feeling of being dragged backwards at high speed, as if someone behind the bed was doing that..
It is very hard not to panic when that happens. I am materialistic and I do not believe in anything that is not based on physical laws, and yet it is difficult not to feel fear in those cases.

Quoting my self "Matte, in my case I have experience exactly what has happened to crashy. The truth is that I have experienced during sleep paralysis that feeling of being dragged backwards at high speed, as if someone behind the bed was doing that..

I have "used" quite a few times that sensation of being dragged from behing as a "symptom" that I am having a lucid dream. Once you lose the fear is really funny ..
But like everything that happens in dreams is really random, sometimes the sensation of being carried varies. So a few weeks ago instead of being dragged through the back instead I was dragged under my own bed where they had two lighted candles. As soon as I saw myself under my bed, I felt someone blew out the candles blowing on it. The funny thing about this situation is that this dream was not lucid, but still I did not feel any fear. I do not believe in ghosts.
I have had quite interesting dreams .

      "Guess he wasn't ready"

Next time if you allow it to be you might have a very revealing experience, perhaps your definition of reality will change, who knows? Good luck friend.

I have had many frightening things happen to me during these type of experiences. All my WILDs feel like OBEs or AP and I don't always intend for it to happen. Ive found that its best to just relax and don't fight it. As soon as I do that it stops. "It" being whatever... Demons, sheets attacking me, a cold dead version of my son, ect.
