What do you mean by "eating your energy?" Does it hurt? I mean... I'm still just 15 so I'll wait until I'm older to read the book, for now, I'll feed myself with the information i find on the internet. Anyways, about the energy and that stuff... So technikly, they give you knowledge in exchange of your energy... I don't see where our benefit is... What's the point of having knowledge if you are doomed to be giving your energy... If you are doomed to be unable to use that knowledge. It kinda reminds me of the newest indiana Jones (or is it the newest?) and at the end, the bad woman gets all that information from alians and she kinda dies because there is too much information...? Anyways... I think this stuff is really comfusing + how could that Castenada know all of this since he didn't say 'yes' (or else he wouldn't be here to say this)... Maybe it was all a bad dream..

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I don't believe in the theory.. It's interesting and it might be true as far as i know.

Wait, I don't understand something. Why are you saying that you'll read the book when you're older? Is it because you think you're too young to understand it right now, or is it because you think book-reading for pleasure is something for older people and not teenagers? If you're genuinely interested, you should read it now. Don't think it's goofy at your age to read in your free time. I know that most 15 year olds would rather text asinine things to their friends like "kewl" or "lol" than read a book, but don't let that stop you. If it was for another reason, sorry about that rant.
And no, I haven't read the book in question, but reading is something that more people should get involved in (myself included).

No, I meant that you know... I'm still living with my parents and I don't have job. My mom doesn't let me use my money and it be complicated getting the book and lets just say... I'm not a spoiled child and I don't get things just by asking, plus my mom doesn't like me lucid dreaming. She thinks its stopping me from being present in my real life. So whenever I start living on my own, have a job and I'm more independant (I don't have to ask anyone if i can go out) I'll get some books. For now, the information I find on the internet is really good.

      And don't worry about it.

I read a lot too, anyways

Go to a library, or just hang out in Chapters and read it.

Do you think they'd have it in a library? I'll look. And for Chapters, whenever I do, i'll look for one and read it while I'm there.

IBs can't lie so you'd be able to find out. I guess.

What is it like to give out energy. If its not too dangerous, i'd ask them for a bit of knowledge or something for a bit of my energy.

Personally, I probably would not say "Yes" just to be on the safe side, though I usually try to get skeptic side (if this possible). But in this case we should consider that not only Castaneda but a lot of mythological legends tells us about such sort of encounters (fairies which lure mortals to their kingdom, they spend a couple of days there, return back and found a lot of years passed), and in my opinion mythology takes deep roots in dreams. It would not be funny to say yes, spend some time with girl, and then wake up IRL and found that one spent two years in coma! Or what's even more terrific (but even more speculative) that he actually lived all this time but have not memory about this time (i.e. his consciousness was not active).

At the other side, this theme of being given a choice to stay in other reality is rather common in Salvia trips. I remember a message on one forum in which a member described such experience and said "yes". Nothing happened - the trip ended and he was back IRL .

That reminds me of something i read on another forum. I guy said he astral projected and spent 4 years fighting monsters or something in the astral plane.

I don't know if the 4 years was in waking reality, probably was only 4 years in astral and a couple hours or something in RL. Time can be dilated.

Maybe your Dream Guide or a certain DC has the answer to this. Living ing the mind themselves may hold some knowledge.

I think this thread is fascinating, but not correct.

I can't go live inside the internet, tempting though it may be, but I can spend time here and learn things here.

I can't go live inside the telephone system, even now that they have visual as well as audio, tempting as it may be, but I can, if I choose, spend time there.

I can't go live in my dreamspace, which is, really, in part, a Universal Communication System, full time, tempting as it may be, because well, there are a lot of important things and people in my outer reality too, and it's simply not possible, but I can, when I choose, spend time there.

Sadly, some religions seem to base their ideas of the Afterlife on the dream plane, and those are the ones that always leave me scratching my head.

I believe we will always have both inner and outer realities. We don't have to give up one to have the other. Both teach us things, give us knowledge. It's about balance, you know? Everything is...

As for asking my spirit guides, I did, and this is what he agrees with!

One other comment: people can come back after death. It's called reincarnation. Their spirit just comes back as an infant, in a new body. At least, I believe that to be true!
