      Lucid Characters

I've had a short time ago a curious dream that I want you know. I'll summarize it so that doesn't become too tedious xDD
      ---
Into the dream I meet a girl, we talk for a time and then we kissed. While I was kissing her I sterted to think: this is all a lie, is just a dream. Does it worth I carry on with this, with this lie?
Isn't it better to leave her alone, and to fly for a while and go to explore?

After a few seconds I took an attitude more "Carpe Diem": And why not to make the most of the time, ado? Who does really know what is real or what not? Or even who would at least know the difference? Is better to make the most of it now so much as I can.

I was about to wake up due to I knew I was dreaming in a LD, so during a short time that continue to this I've told till now, I don't remember clearly what happened exactly. But nevertheless I know I was carrying on with that girl yet.

In a moment of the dream the girl and other peoples with whom I was, towards to me and says (the girl says to me): Do you want to live forever here?
-But, this is a dream- I replied her
      -Yes
      -Do you know it?
      -Yes
-But then, do you really exist, does this place really exist?
-Yes, all that exist and you can stay here if you'd want. You've just to say me yes.
-Can you do it? Can you bring myself to here... to live...?
-Yes I can, but if you chose comes with us, you couldn't come back to the other side, you couldn't return to wake up.

I thought his proposition for a time: to live in a dream or to live in the reality? Is some of two lifes false, or both are real? Could it be true that is possible to live in the dreams? and what would happen with my family? I won't see them again, for they I'd be dead. And if I was being cheated, and this is a trap and the girl is no more than an entity that want to kill me or slave me or leave me to a horrible place? Or maybe this is just a simple dream?
      ---
I think is weird the reaction of these peoples who were agreeing to be a part of a dream as if they were lucid too. But I'd like you comment what you'd have chosen if was real that is possible to live in the dreams and if you think that could be possible.

      Excuse my English :SSS xD

That is a really tricky question. Two years ago I'd have said that dream characters are just productions of your mind but now... I'm not so sure. I've had some experiences recently that would make me think otherwise.

I find this very intriguing. I have no true answer as to whether or not this is possible; I do not believe that it would be, but stranger things have happened. But hypothetically, if it were possible, I do not think it would be a good idea to permanantly live in a dream.

Holy shit! Dude, you absolutely have to read "The Art of Dreaming" by Carlos Castaneda.

Never have I read a dream that sounded so much like the Inorganic Beings he describes in his books. That is such a classic IB sales pitch. If I had that dream, I would be freaking out!

The Cusp is right. That an Inorganic being Sales pitch if I ever heard one. You should definately say "no". anything you say in the dream world is final and you can never come back. You'll be akin for to a slave.

So, Inorganic beings can allow you to stay in the dream realm indefinitely? Is that really all that bad?

Well if you'd have said yes you would know the answer, but we might not.

Two possibilities if you say yes.

      1. It's true and we never get to find out because you will be forever in the dream world
      2. It's not true and you would come back to tell us its not true, so then it would be proven.

You aren't going to live in a dream world. You will live in anotehr realm entirely. dreaming is the hunting ground. A bridge between different layers of reality. Our universe is but one layer, the others are together like layers of an onion.

It's bad because you'd never be able to leave. Your energy would be food for them. Much like we get energy from what we eat and drink. anyway this should be moved to beyond dreaming.

Allow? More like trick you into staying.

One thing about IBs is they can't lie. But they can be sneaky like lawyers. When they say you could live forever there, they mean it. And they can teach you amazing things. I'm surprised they didn't tempt Tarsso with knowledge as well. If you meet something like that again, just ask them anything. If it is one, you won't get the regular kind of BS you do from normal DCs.

You can visit their realm. Just declare your intent to go there, and the will take you. But make sure don't say you want to stay.

Are you sure? According to don Juan, "Inorganic beings are after our awareness or the awareness of any being that falls into their nets." He also says that inorganic beings cannot force anyone to stay with them. They give you knowledge but "they'll extract a payment: Our entire being." So really its a choice between the richness of being and the freedom of nothing.

Damn. That is a freaky dream. I always thought there were more to dreams than most of us realize.

This one guy I know, he's a very religious and good guy. He told me he had a dream that someone had told him to contact the company he works at now at a specific time to get the job he wanted.

Sure enough, he did that and got the job. Dreams are so mysterious.

If dreams are our subconscious, and shit like that happens...then maybe all our minds are connected on an unconscious level. I mean we all did come from one little single particle before the big bang ( if that theory is right ) Thats the only explanation of why such crazy things happen in dreams.

Why would they bring you there for visit? Wouldn't we see the slavery and all the bad stuff and so we'd be sure to say 'no'? If they want us to be fooled, wouldn't they NOT want us to see what its REALLY like?

If they do really exist, I so want to meet one, but I'll make sure I don't get tricked.

      Heh, thats true.

Why would Inorganic beings want to enslave us for energy? I mean....i thought everything above the layer of reality we are in now was about peace, love, etc.

      Enslavement is a bad thing.

That's beyond my realm of experience, and anything i say on the matter is just hearsay. Just read The Art of Dreaming. Most libraries have Castaneda's books.

There is an incident on that book that pretty much describes that scenario, where he encounters the "blue scout".

Okay, maybe I'm a little out there, but I'm failing to see a downside here. Sure, you're stuck in there realm, but I have my doubts on whether or not you would be enslaved. They feed on your energy, yes, but in return you get untold amounts of knowledge. And Castaneda himself wrote that a person may find their realm so alluring as to volunteer to stay, so it obviously isn't that unpleasant a place to be.

I know what you mean, Wired. For a long time I wanted to explore the in and outs of dreams, learn all about them, see if they could help me learn about other planes of existence, learn things through them that no one else knew. I recently learned about lucid dreaming and decided that LD's were the best way to do that. If I ever come across any IB's in one of my dreams I think I'd gamble and take their offer.

I suppose that depends on the individual. But they all want to trap you. The are like fishermen. Castaneda, or rather Don Juan describes them as immobile entities, like trees. The can't move, so they have to bring you to them.

Like trees that can't spread their seed on their own, they produce flowers and fruits (so to speak) to attract bees and such to them for that sweet nectar. Only instead of flowers of fruit, they offer you other tantalizing things. Immortality is pretty sweet.

Don Juan didn't like them because they were antithetical to his goal, which was freedom. How would you like to spend the rest of your life grounded by your parents, not being able to leave, even though they take care of you?

I suppose it's a two way street. You can still get stuff from them by baiting them with yourself, but they are much better at it than we are.

That makes sense. I doubt that it'd be worth the risk even speaking to them, then. I'll have to be on the look out for this, in case I should ever come across one.

If you did happen to get trapped, would there be any hope of escape? And what would happen to your physical body? Would it just die?

How do we know, that this world wasn't just some dream in which we agreed to stay in? And that some other dream wasn't your life before you came to this... well... place?
Okay, I probably sound weird now ^_^'

I don't think that I've met any DC's like that... Although there usually are at least a few of them around me wether I'm lucid or not... maybe I should ask them some questions the next time I'm lucid XD

I'm pretty sure I was dragged there once. But i don't remember what happened. I've also found that grabbing a scout in a dream takes you to their realm. At least that what happens for me.

What do you mean by "eating your energy?" Does it hurt? I mean... I'm still just 15 so I'll wait until I'm older to read the book, for now, I'll feed myself with the information i find on the internet. Anyways, about the energy and that stuff... So technikly, they give you knowledge in exchange of your energy... I don't see where our benefit is... What's the point of having knowledge if you are doomed to be giving your energy... If you are doomed to be unable to use that knowledge. It kinda reminds me of the newest indiana Jones (or is it the newest?) and at the end, the bad woman gets all that information from alians and she kinda dies because there is too much information...? Anyways... I think this stuff is really comfusing + how could that Castenada know all of this since he didn't say 'yes' (or else he wouldn't be here to say this)... Maybe it was all a bad dream..

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I don't believe in the theory.. It's interesting and it might be true as far as i know.

Wait, I don't understand something. Why are you saying that you'll read the book when you're older? Is it because you think you're too young to understand it right now, or is it because you think book-reading for pleasure is something for older people and not teenagers? If you're genuinely interested, you should read it now. Don't think it's goofy at your age to read in your free time. I know that most 15 year olds would rather text asinine things to their friends like "kewl" or "lol" than read a book, but don't let that stop you. If it was for another reason, sorry about that rant.
And no, I haven't read the book in question, but reading is something that more people should get involved in (myself included).
