    1. Night of Friday 4/18/25

      Silverlight:
      I have a false-awakening at the previous house I was renting [1a].
Out of habit I do a nose-RC and
      I become lucid.
I noticed that my vision was dark, so I start trying to stabilize the dream.
I recall that I memorized "EV" as an acronym to help me remember what to do.
From the edge of my memory: Engage. Verbalize. EV.
So, I start rubbing my bare hands and feet against the carpet and walls, saying "I'm rubbing the carpet, this is a dream."
"I'm rubbing the walls, this is a dream."
"I'm rubbing the carpet, this is a dream."
Fortunately for me, my vision comes back. It worked [2].

I go out into the living room and I see my lost passed away Grandma M walking by.
I don't engage with her, but we do make eye-contact. I remark to myself how strange lucid dreaming is.
Stabilization continues, like I'm a weirdo rubbing and chanting.
I start trying to remember what my goals are. I recall that one of them is to "will text into something specific."
So I start looking for text somewhere in the house.
I find an odd clock-like structure on the wall with painted calligraphy words on it instead of numbers.
I look at it, and the words are nonsense to begin with.
I pick a random one, look away, think about the word "ass", wait a moment, and then look back.
It has changed into another nonsense word.
I try the same process again, and this time it works. I see "ass" in fancy light blue calligraphy lettering on the clock [3].
Check. What else should I do? Eating is worth points I think?
I go to the kitchen looking for food. I find the fridge, but there is a couch partially blocking the door. My brother is sitting on the couch.
I force the fridge door open anyway, knocking away the couch [4].
I find a plastic container with some strawberries in it.
I think that maybe it will be cold and hurt my teeth, but I eat it anyway [5].
It tastes like nothing, not even cold. To be fair, I wasn't really focusing on it, so maybe that is why?
      Goals? What were they?
      ...
      I false awaken, but I catch it with a nose-RC. [1b]
      Back to it. EV.
There's a brief scene with some naughtiness in the bedroom and living room, but I will leave out the details.
I proceed back to the living room area, and this time I see my long passed away Grandpa R.
I wave and say hello, and he vaguely acknowledges me, looking up and waving his hand [6].
I have a few more cycles of false awakenings, but I eventually remember that one of my goals is to travel to Silverlight (location mentioned by a DC in another LD).
I remember the fridge from earlier and decide that it will be my doorway.
I think about a forest on the other side of the door and open it.
      No luck.
I try again, and this time it is definitely a fridge inside, but there is a purplish glow at the back.
I decide that, this time, I'm not taking no for an answer.
I run into the fridge, contorting my body to fit. Super cramped.
I push through, forcing a dream transition.
The next thing I know, I'm trapped, feeling claustrophobic, floating in water.
I can see daylight leaking through the gaps in the door hinge.
Fighting for my life, I smash my way out and get on top of the fridge.
Looking around, I'm in a river in a forest clearing during the day. Mission accomplished [7].
There is a medieval looking army camp straight ahead.
I see goblins and humans are in some sort of battle.
I notice that as I look around, there is a symphonic film soundtrack playing in the background.
It evokes a sense of wonder that matches and amplifies what I am feeling perfectly.
I notice on my left, there are some Aztec-looking aged steps going up. The were large, about 8 foot high and 10 foot wide per step.
I fly over there to get a closer look as the daylight begins to fade [8].
The steps are large enough that I need to fly a bit to get over them.
I reach the top and realize this is a defensive-sniper position.
Without speaking, I think about how I imagined that Silverlight should have had white trees.
There is a man there in military gear. Eyes are covered in shadow, facepaint lines under them.
He responds, as if I had spoken, "Maybe it is called Silverlight because the trees light up at night."
The music, which is still playing, swells in response to this statement. It sounds similar to "The Other Promise" from Kingdom Hearts II.
The swell sounds specifically like 0:50 from this video:

Kingdom Hearts II: The Other Promise.

      AI Art: Overlooking Silverlight.

As the music swells, the daylight fades completely and all the trees light up as if they have white/yellow Christmas lights on them.
The sight of the lit trees from up above and hearing the music in time with them might be the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced in a lucid dream.
      I wake up.

      [1ab] Catch a False Awakening x 2.
      [2] Reality Check / Stabilization.
[3] Personal Goal: Will text into something specific.
      [4] Super Strength.
      [5] Eat/Drink Something.
[6] Interact with a Dream Character.
[7] Personal Goal: Travel to Silverlight / Teleport.
      [8] Fly.

    2. *LUCID* Night of Friday 4/4/25

      by , 04-05-2025 at 08:01 PM (Dreamlog)
      Sleep:1:00AM to 11:32AM (10hr32m)
      Detail: 687 words.

      Pre-WBTB

      No recall.

      Post-WBTB

      The Night City:
I'm laying on a couch in a living room that doesn't resemble any place I can recall strongly.
My sister shows up with a puppy, and there are a couple kids running around to play with it.
Later I'm up, and there is a bug that one of the little kids is trying to catch. She has a bag of insects that seem content to hang out in the bag.
      ...
I'm at a large open field, with a stone wall in front of me. The scene feels a bit distant, like it is zoomed out a little.
I try to imagine grabbing onto the rock with my hands and I can feel the rock. It strikes me that this feels like a lucid dream transition (like a WILD) but that couldn't be.
I decide to do a nose-check anyway and I can breathe.

This is, in fact, a dream.
I continue to climb the rock, not realizing that this is an excellent dream stabilizing exercise.
When I get to the top, I "take off the VR goggles" and the world gets a bit clearer.
I try to remember the pre-flight check plan, but I can't recall specifics of what I'm supposed to do.
I just say "I'm theshirecat, and this is a dream!".
      ...
I'm lucid again in a city at night. There is an outdoor festival happening, with food and people at a bar.
I remember that I wanted to listen to the "people chatter" and see if it is nonsense like a video I had seen told me it would be.
I decide to focus on that after I'm done talking to a couple of DCs.
"Can you make a melody for me?" I ask one of them.
The DC has a long oval face with short hair, and has a friend nearby on another stool.
He seems confused so I ask again.
"Like, if I sing, keep it going."
      I sing a short 4 note tune.
He joins in at the end, with what seems like a couple random notes. That's OK, he tried.
I leave the festival area and spy a large skyscraper, the tallest along the dark sky.
There are lights all over the place and it is beautiful.
"That one, I'm going to fly to that one."
I kick off the ground superman-style and start zooming towards it.
It doesn't get closer to me as fast as I expected, it must be very far away.
      "Faster. Faster!"
I get modest increases in speed when I ask for it, but pointing my fists behind me gives a good boost.
There are some electrical lines in my path, and I find dodging past them a challenge.
I start to point my fists to adjust my trajectory to dodge them, and I succeed.
I get above the tall building, and notice a pink portal in the center of it.
I decide I'm going to fall directly into it from the air.
I position myself, and do so.
      ...
I'm in a sort of "in-between". Almost like a healing pod from Dragonball Z, and a living room is on the other side.
It feels like my lucidity is hanging by a thread, that on the other side of the pod would be losing it.
I try to keep my thoughts together, but I slip.
      ...
I gain lucidity again in a small room. There are about 8-10 people being forced into an elevator. Hermione from Harry Potter is among them.
Something is terrible about this, but I follow them into the elevator.
The door closes behind us, and all is panic, but then I remember I can do whatever I want.
I smash the elevator door, and shove it aside. Beyond it, there is elevator-like room.
The people cheer for me breaking it, despite it not really helping the situation.
      Activities occur with Hermione.

      ...
I've lost lucidity and I'm with my friend J in a jeep. We're going to go fishing for dinner.
There is a small pond that makes it easy to catch fish. I feel very prepared for this trip, comparing it to another time where I hadn't been.

    3. Night of Sunday 12/3/23

      by , 12-04-2023 at 06:32 PM (Dreamlog)
      Musical Arms:

I'm with my Mom, brother, and some others in a small music practice room.
We are oriented specifically on the floor, sitting down.
My Mom has me move to a slightly different position.
      I'm now near the front.
We are playing music together. There was a specific tune.
Mom is struggling to explain, so my brother, somewhat begrudgingly, helps her.
      ...
I'm outside now, at a marching band visual rehearsal. I'm at the secondary parking lot from highschool where we used to rehearse.
My blanket is stuck between some mud and cracks in the concrete. I'm trying to pull it free.
ZW from highschool marching-band, is calling me out for being weak. I feel embarrassed.
But somebody else behind me says that rotator cuff surgery is a serious surgery, so obviously weakness is expected.

    4. Night of Saturday 10/14/23 (DILD)

      by , 10-15-2023 at 07:54 PM (Dreamlog)
This was another surprise. My sleep schedule has been terrible. I hope these spontaneous lucids lately mean that my work with dreamsigns and awareness is paying off!

      Went to bed around 2AM.

      Dancing with Cars
I'm outside my childhood home. The yard looks like a mixture of heavy green and blue hues.
I perform a nose RC and realize that
      I'm dreaming.
My first thought is to try and stabilize, so I start rubbing the tree in the front yard. It's kinda wet, and I rub my feet on it too.
The dream is very vibrant, with the aforementioned green and blue hues. I wonder to myself if this is what people mean by 'dreamlike'.
I'm rubbing my hands and the tree trying to stabilize but the dream is fading. I started having a mental dialogue.
Sure, this is fading, but even if we have to WILD back in, we should be able to save this attempt.
I held on to the tree trunk, not wanting the dream to end.
To my delight, the dream fades back in. My tactile sense comes back first, holding the tree, and then my vision.
I walk away from the tree and I'm still rubbing my hands together. I narrate outloud what I'm doing as I move.
"I'm dreaming, rubbing my hands, and walking."
      "This is a dream."
"I'm dreaming, rubbing my hands, and walking."
      "This is a dream."
I approach our next door neighbor's garage door and notice that instead of an actual garage door, there is a set of regular doors in a line.
Perfect. I can use that to go somewhere new. However I'm not lucid enough to think about going to Silverlight Way (fantasy forest goal), and I decide that I want to go to Australia.
Before attempting to open the door, I visualize a green/yellow hued, wild jungle. I really focus on trying to hear the bugs, animals, branches and all that. This aligns with Australia apparently.
I say "Jungle!" and open the door.
And as is tradition at this point, I see a boring neighborhood on the other side of the door.
I shut the door, try again. Fail. This repeats a few times.
On the final try, I get a slightly different looking area. The architecture of the buildings looks a bit more interesting and there is a highway structure with cars high up.
I decide that is a more fitting setting for a lucid dream, so I go through the door.
I emerge into a street, and out in front of me is a set of tall buildings and the highway up in the sky. It's definitely night-time here.
I wander around a bit, enjoying the dream scene and sense of freedom.
      ...

I'm in a plane-hanger, talking to a tall man that may have been a coworker from long ago. The plane hanger is in the same environment as before, but I lost lucidity at some point.
He's telling me about an acne problem a current coworker, JG, has.
      ...

I'm wandering and realize that I haven't flown yet, and my lucidity comes back.
I take off towards the tall highway structure.
Music starts to play. It's melancholy, upbeat, but also happy. I can still hear it and I'm wondering if the melody exists already in the real world. It reminds me of Foals a little bit. There was a repeating three note rhythm, and the final lyric in the pattern was 'stop' or 'shop'.
I land on the raised highway structure. I think to myself that lately I haven't really demonstrated a high-level of dream control. I remembered some people on DV that talked about facing that DCs aren't real, and going through with dangerous situations.
I look out to the oncoming traffic and decide that I'm going to interrupt it. I hover in midair on the highway, just a foot or so above the ground.
The first car comes by, and it grazes me on my right side. As it approached it looked like it was moving around 75mph, but when it was close to me, it was more like 30mph. I slide my hand across it as it goes by.
The music from earlier is still playing. The next car approaches, and I do a 'wax-on, wax-off' motion on my right side. The car wildly flips in the air and flies off into the distance. I'm flipping cars with telekinesis in rhythm with the music.
It's total carnage, and I'm just like, vibin' with the music. But it turns out the DCs don't like to be tossed into oblivion, and cars start to park and queue up to block the road. They are getting out of their cars and approaching me. Chasing me.
The music is still playing, so it doesn't feel like a nightmare. More like a music video. I'm flying, running, and jumping to escape them.
Eventually I reach a garage-type area. BD from highschool is there, and he is trying to handcuff me with a bunch of different types of cuffs, but none of them are working.
One of them though, works, and bands my hands together. It's made from a silicon-material, similar to my smartwatch band.
      ...

There's a spinoff conversation about Apple TV remotes being smooth, and JG from earlier in the dream is showing off that she has a special edition one.
I've lost lucidity at this point.

      Recorded at 7:25AM.
