Lucid Dreams
Without a doubt the best lucid dream I've ever had. It was incredibly long (as far as mine go anyway, it felt like 10 minutes) and also very vivid and I had full lucidity the whole time. I gained lucidity (don't remember how, just thought of it) on someone's front lawn on a road near my house. I looked at the curb and saw my car. I was with a couple of my friends, A and K. I get an amazing idea of something I want to do in my dream. I open the door to my Pontiac G6, push the button the pop the hood, take out the V4 engine, turn around and pick up a V12 engine which is conveniently laying on the ground and pop it into my car. Of course, it works perfectly. I blaze down my favorite road at some ridiculous speed, having a blast. A little later, I drive into the opening room of some big labyrinth maze thing. My friends want to get out of the car. I tell them, screw it, I'm dreaming, I'll just drive through the maze. Which I proceed to do. Eventually me and A are on a higher floor of the maze with an elevator. I let K drive the car but he's having trouble navigating. I decide I want to have a meaningful conversation with my subconscious so I talk to A and discuss with him why he's such a cynical person. It's a very interesting conversation and I feel like I've learned something about him through things that my conscious mind missed but my subconscious did not. I walk to another part of the room. It's a long open hall with no walls, just pillars around the perimeter holding up the ceiling. We're still on a very high floor of a building. I do weird things with my vision, making the ceiling and parts of the room fold in and ripple. I have trouble melding the environment exactly how I want to (I keep trying to do things like the city scene in Inception) but it's still interesting. Then I decide to try something simple. I jump into a fighting pose with my fist facing the ground, and where I'm pointing, the floor gets blasted out. I love telekinesis. Now for my favorite part of the dream. Where I've blown a hole on the floor, there are a couple of bricks still laying around. I point at each of them with a finger and lift them up into the air with telekinesis. Each of my 2 fingers controls one of the bricks, and I have fun flipping them over each other and messing around with them. For some reason this kind of control gives me great joy. I hear my parents talking downstairs but I still have faint control of the dream. By the time I think of spinning or rubbing my hands together it's too late, I wake up, feeling satisfied and refreshed.

I watched this subliminal lucid dream induction video the other night in hopes of increasing my chances of having one, and the night after I had the longest most vivid LD I've had in a long time. Unfortunately I barely had any control the whole dream, but it was still pretty sick. I gained lucidity in the lobby of my dorm building, possibly by an RC caused by a knuckle crack. The instant it happened, dream quality started fading rapidly. I thought, "Fuck, there's no way I'm giving another one of these up." I rubbed my hands together, repeating to myself the phrase, "I am lucid, the world is vivid." The instant my hands touched it was like an earthquake hit my dream and I heard loud static. I feel like I even peeked an eye open just a tiny bit and thinking I was rubbing my hands together in real life, wondering what my roommates would think if they saw me doing that asleep. However, through enough concentration I managed to bring the dream back and make a complete recovery. In order to come back into the dream I had to change the setting. I saw a spaceship flying through space and my perspective glided like a camera angle towards the ship until I was inside it. Then I realized I was in my body inside the ship. I still want to fly, so I try to crack the glass of the ship. Hitting it fails, and I try to exert some kind of control. Some sort of blue energy flows out of my hands and I think I crack the glass a little, but to no avail. Instead I decide since I'm in a spaceship I might as well attempt the TotM. The spaceship sort of turns into a flying bus and we begin to land on an alien planet. I look out the window on the way down. I see a foggy rainforest which I take to be an alien planet, followed by something that looks like a cat sitting in the grass. Then I see large orange scaly aliens in a Mayan-style civilization. They are walking around with spears and I can't wait to talk to them. The ship hits some turbulence on the way down and as I am standing up at this point, I fall on a female crew member. Seeing as she has large breasts, I can't help myself. I have some fun with that for a while and she seems to be enjoying it, but then I decide it's time to do my task. I walk to the front of the bus, and suddenly FA into my dorm room. I forget to reality check and this is where I lose all lucidity. The dream was still pretty interesting and vivid after this point. I was exploring some deluxe dorm room that my friend Melissa had gotten. It has different color spotlights and crazy 70's style stuff everywhere. Someone comes to the door and for some reason I answer it. It's some random girl I've never seen and we have awkward conversation while I wonder why she's there. At some point I end up back in my room, and there's a black girl I've never met before in my room. She shakes my hand and doesn't let go at first and I can tell she's interested in me. Then, out of nowhere, she leaves. The dream ends anticlimactically. Next time I have to try to keep my cool when I reach lucidity. Gotta work on dream control too. It's going to be hard to have a flying dream if I can't even get outside. Sometimes I just want to smash through the walls and go straight into flying, but I can't quite figure out how. It's definitely frustrating, but I'm sure it will come with time. I'm definitely going to keep watching that subliminal video though. That shit might just work.
I shouldn't even categorize this as lucid. But technically it was an LD. I'm standing in the Freeman Hall elevator and something seems a little off. I do my RC and realize I'm dreaming, so I rub my hands together because thats supposed to "stabilize the dream." I immediately wake up. FML. However, I had a pretty funny dream later on last night. I was eating lunch in the dining hall with some people and decide I have to get to class. I go to the elevator, push the up button and look at what floor the elevator is on. Here's the thing about the elevators in Freeman Hall. If you value your life you do not go anywhere near those things. They are a death trap and you should only be on one if A. Your water just broke. or B. You have to shit and the turtle is already poking its head out. With that said, I'm watching the floor number go down and finally it gets to 1. Instead of stopping, it keeps going into the basement. I wonder whats going on and my question is answered when the floor number is replaced by a depth reading of how far the elevator is plummeting into the earth. Eventually it comes back up, except when the door opens, the elevator is literally ON ITS FUCKING SIDE and bouncing all over the place. I decide to take the stairs.
About a week into my journal keeping and reality checks I've had my first lucid dream. It happened during a 15 minute nap between classes today. Was sleeping in my dorm room and I had a dream about sitting on the other side of my room and talking to my roommates. They leave the room and suddenly I realize (with no apparant cause) that I'm actually in a dream. I say to myself the phrase I learned reading here recently, "I am lucid, the world is vivid" and crack my knuckles (my reality check) just to make sure. Since it's my first real lucid dream in a LONG time, I simply walk around my dorm room and observe the dream world. It seems much more like I'm floating than actually walking. I go into the next room and play with the door behind me via telekinesis. Works like a charm. I keep walking and when I look into the bathroom I begin to lose lucidity. I try spinning and turn the bathroom into a totally different room with brick walls. I explore around there a little bit and decide to look at my hands and feet. They do definitely look distorted. I walk back to where the dream started. I hear my roommates talking in the background and begin to wake up. I try to hang onto the dream but accidentally move my leg and become fully awake. Very proud of myself, going to try and have some more fun with it next time.
On two separate occasions in my dream tonight she kissed me. I can vividly remember her face and her pretty blonde hair during the whole time, which is unsual for my dreams. Not going into names on the off chance that somebody I know reads this. It was a thoroughly enjoyable dream. At one point during the second part I actually realized I was dreaming for just a moment, because I realized it was too good to be true. Some reality check. I was actually upset to go lucid and let myself fall back into normal dreaming. The first time it happened we had been playing some game and the place we were in turned into a locker block where it was just her and I. We flirted for a bit and it finally happened. Second was in the elevator after we had gone to the gym with a group of people. I remember the walk back but that pales in comparison to the way she was all over me in the elevator, crazy about me. I remember not being able to get my lips wet enough for a good kiss though. This is because my mouth often dries out while I'm sleeping. This may have been the sign that made me realize I was dreaming.
