    1. Working with schema - h.i?

      by , 06-19-2015 at 11:20 AM
      Hey

Not sure why but been in a slow period with LDing - Funny to say it tho as am a begginner anyway! Iam doing the RRC ( not with a reminder tho) + RC of looking at hands and then some visualisation of me getting Lucid - I got a bit down I think coz I coulnt get the tree totm and put alot of effort in - but maybe its just still too advanced for me and I probly need to keep it more simple just now. Flying was pretty easy and breathing under water so i am trying to think of another elemental one - maybe walk through a huge fire? any ideas for me at total beginning level?

I had some first snipits - 2 tiny LD this morning - I am reading and keeping inmind the 3rd lesson of Sageous - "Practice nurturing Scemas" - tha tmeans i am watching the H.I and seeing how it develops into shapes etc, right?

It has been interesting - this morning the H.I was looking like the fur of an animal at one point ... then later the LD Was about me looking at a fury little animals head laying on the ground, then i saw another just like it - then I saw the full animal next to it with its head on- I tried to reach out fo the fury head but my hands were not in sight and my body was maybe not fully in dream world - I woke up...
Had other experience with watching h.i and after quite some time seeing a spark of light passing over a clear spot in a cloudy sky - [I] could see the clear sky and in an instant [I] knew that could have been a moment to say"i am there!" and be wisked off into the dream but the moment passed - interesting tho...

    2. What happened? Post Your WILD Attempts, Good or Bad, Here

      by , 06-16-2015 at 08:59 PM
I technique, I think Michael Raduga's Phase technique addresses this question to some extent. You might want to look it up (there's a thread on DV about it here). Also, since his Phase is basically a DEILD technique, and DEILD is a form of WILD, reviewing Raduga's technique will not take you away from your overall WILD pursuit.

Other than that, can i get an example run of the WILD technique? Showing all the steps in a basic matter (Awakening, Waiting, etc..) because i'm going for it all next time..

      1. Set a specific day and time for the attempt, based on experimentation/experience (mine is on Wednesday mornings, with WBTB beginning at about 8am).

      2. Stay up a bit late the night before (usually until 2-3am for me) to be sure my personal maximum hours of pre-WBTB sleep pass before WBTB-time (5 hours).

      3. Go to sleep normally, with thoughts of my upcoming WILD prominent in my mind.

      4. Waken around 8am -- I don't use an alarm for this, so sometimes its a bit earlier, sometimes later; I am careful to not get concerned about waking off-schedule.

      5. Do a WBTB for a minimum of 30 minutes, sometimes as long as an hour. During WBTB, I keep my thoughts "dreamy," I review what I'll be doing in my upcoming LD, and I do not watch TV, use the computer or phone, engage in conversation, or do anything that might wake me up too much.

      6. I lay back down and begin my WILD by lying on my back, breathing deeply a few times, and settling into a steady repetition of my day's chosen mantra. I will continue repeating the mantra throughout steps 7 and 8, and sometimes right into step 9.

Special note: be sure when you lay down to begin your WILD you do it in a quiet dark place in which you can be sure that there will be no waking-life intrusions for at least a couple of hours. This seems obvious, but it's often overlooked.

      7. I go to sleep. Because I am a light sleeper, this can take a while (sometimes more than an hour), so I have learned to be very patient. On the path to sleep, I generally hold still, but I do move if I must: I scratch itches, swallow, shift uncomfortable limbs, and even occasionally succumb to the rollover impulse (though I don't recommend that, because it can be very difficult to hang onto your self-awareness during this natural process meant to get you to go to sleep faster). Also on the path to sleep, I quietly ignore the assorted noise that can accompany my journey, because it really does not matter (it doesn't even deserve it's own step number).

      8. I transition to the dream. Still repeating my mantra, I either sense the dream beginning or have already begun forming one of my own (usually the former, because I've found it easier to reform an existing dream than to start from scratch). I then calmly feel myself becoming part of a new world, and remember that it is my dreamworld. (This actually ought to be part of step 7, but, given that the WILD transition is what this entire endeavor is about, I figured it should get its own number.)

      9. I dream. I settle into the dream, taking a moment to remember my sleeping body, remember my goals, and maybe (but not always) do a RRC, all of which help assert my self-awareness, my presence in the dream, and strengthen my access to memory. I usually let the dream play for a very short time before doing anything, just to be sure that my dreaming mind/unconscious is in full dream mode and ready to work with me. Then, with as little thought as possible, I leave the dream I am in and set about assembling a new dream based upon the day's goals (sometimes, though more and more rarely these days, I will stay in that first given dream for a time, if its schema seems interesting or potentially fun).

On a side note, this is the place a lot of people seem to lose their way: they get all the way to the dream, and then either get exited and wake up, fall prey to the grandeur of their dream and lose lucidity, or simply forget that they are supposed to continue being self-aware and lapse into a NLD (often about being lucid, which can be confusing). This is a very good reason for continuing your mantra right into the dream, because it serves as an excellent reminder that you are dreaming.

      10. I notice that I am about to wake up, and prepare to do a DEILD. In order to prolong my dream, and in deference to the fact that we are physically bound to REM periods that max out at about 90 minutes, I take care to notice when I start hearing things like my waking-life breath or white noise machine in the distance, and remind myself that I'll be waking soon. I gather up as much of the fading dream as I can (usually intellectually, by remembering plot lines, major characters, and the last complete state of the scene that is rapidly fading) to prepare for step 11.

      11.
I DEILD. As wakefulness sets in, I gently keep my eyes closed, and, holding onto all the dream details I brought with me, I wait patiently for sleep to resume, and head right back into the dream I just left. I also will return to my last dream even if I am planning on starting a new one once I return to sleep, because for some reason the presence of the last dream makes it easier to form the new dream.

      12. I wake up. On good days wake-up will take a while because I will repeatedly return to the dream through DEILDs, but eventually the party will be over. Then I lay quietly for as long as an hour, reviewing where I've been. Eventually I will get up and set about recording it all in my DJ. The whole process, from first laying down to sleep to closing the DJ's cover, usually lasts 10-12 hours.

That's it in as small a nutshell as I can manage; keep in mind that these steps are the ones I personally take (though I do recommend them), and your specific steps will almost certainly vary.

I hope all this helps, and above all I wish you the best of luck with your WILD dive!

    3. Almost wild

Did lots of incubation tonight before my day off tomorrow!
Lucid right now. I am dreaming mind now. Going tothe rainbow to taste the rainbow.
I am dreaming right now I am dreaming right now.

My mantra is I am lucid. I am in a dream I am lucid. I am in a dream.
Then I go flying off to experience the taste of rainbow - I am happy and showing it and lucid.
Then when I have seen myself accomplish this I see a tree in the distance and I decided to go and climb the tree that I can complete task number two and climb up a tree and see a wonderful view and marvel at the view. And I rejoice that I have been able to do my tasks have been aware my dream then at the end I do a reality check and then I do a reality check real life.
      My mantra ;

Again I am lucid I am in a dream. I am lucid I am in a dream. To this throughout the day and before bed but definitely throughout the day with reality checks.

Children playing around, making food, enjoying ourselves
Approximately 7:30 AM Sunday 31st of May
I did not meditate this morning but I stayed in bed to carry on dreams. I asked myself what am I doing wrong I have no lucid dreams? I asked myself is it my perception? Or maybe my self awareness? At this point I began to say my mantraI turned onto my side and experimented with the way that I said the mantra . Sometimes I said it as if I was saying to somebody. The next very quietly into myself ... the more I did this send the mantra quietly into myself the more I had experience which was out of this world.

For some reason I decided to stick with the mantra
      I am in a dream
      I am in a dream.
As I whispered this mantra to myself everything began to change. The H .I .was beginning to get strong so I decided to take notice of it. I remembered that one lady had said when you have a strong H.I then pick A particular point within it and say
      I am there.

Then she said you should be drawn to that point. That is exactly what happened I picked to the point and then I began to be drawn to that point it was like a surge of electricity catapulting me towards that point. As I moved towards PowerPoint Indian music began to play very loudly and very clearly I almost reached that very point where I do believe the dream was beginning. However unfortunately I experimented with that surge of electricity and told myself gently back out hoping that I would be able to go back again - It was because this feeling was so unusual had never felt before the weekend to play with and file. Later I have been told by friends that I you could've almost experienced full blown wild.!

The time is 7.09 AM Monday, 1 June.

I did wake back to bed however I was a little emotional and so could not focus properly.
I did have two experience is very similar to yesterday's wild attempt. There were two times I've reached place but did not quite - one time I did actually reach a place that was pitch black and I knew I was in the dream.
I screamed out into the darkness

to "George, mum - help me. You are the only ones that can help me! "

I called out again very very loudly and to begin back into my senses in my bed. But I definitely was in the dream and very aware of it so it was a lucid dream.

    4. Basic totm

      by , 06-11-2015 at 08:39 PM
      Cool Basic task 1
Tonight I had a main and a mini - lucid dreams- yippee
In the first LD I remembered that I wanted to go to taste the rainbow, so I flew up into the sky and imagined myself flying towards a rainbow - the rainbow was there - "there is the beautiful rainbow I want to taste "I said.
However the rainbow was really not all that beautiful and it was quite hard to imagine - sure it was kind of black and white, not in colour ;(however it was my rainbow that I imagine at that time ...I flew towards it and flew through it. I opened my mouth as I flew through it so that I could taste the rainbow. It is not taste of Much that I remember it was black and white taste perhaps -lol- lucidity was low but I was still aware that I was in my dream. I went on to complete the second task now basic task to climb a tree see the view.I went flying to a close by tree "there is a tree that I will climb and see a beautiful view, space and complete my task" I said. I then woke up.
So I guess this means I completed the first basic task of the month even though it is quite low lucidity effort - still happy
    5. Task of the Month for May 2015

      by , 05-26-2015 at 02:20 PM
Was having a nld it was around 5 am I woke up and realised I must put my mind more into LD mode so started imagining myself coming Lucid by looking at my hand s and then saying I am dreaming - then I wanted to remember where my body was in bed and say my name out loud and some other names I have that friends call me coz I have been reading the great thread started by Sageouse about memory ( which I really like and am still reading as there is sooo much more to LDreaming as everyone keeps saying on that thread!)

Anyway this time I forgot all that and remembered I wanted to try for the task of the month when Ny told me about it in last message. So I wanted to smell and taste a lovely ripe pear - so I did !

I was going along in my NL and feeling quite perky I started to engage with some of the DC around me, flirting, so I started getting the feeling of Lucidity in that way I think ... So I came to the end of a row of DC and I saw a deep dark pool of water - just from one second to the next I knew I had to dive into the water to get Lucid/ so I jumped - it was very dark and deep so didn't feel that great but suddenly I knew this was a dream and remembered my goal. I imagined a pear floating towards me and took hold of it and smelt it- yes it smelt like a pear - I bit into it - yes it tasted yummy like a pear - I woke up soon after this as the water was not that enjoyable ; dark, murky etc.

Lucidity was not vast - I noticed my dreaming space was quite small - I could not see far around me - it will be great to see far and wide one of these Lucid Dream day/Nights

So I think that means I have done a totm!? If so its my first

ID:	9349Thank you Gab - I have been reading through lots of stuff over the last weeks and finaly think I am going to settle down with your steps under How 1-9 etc above. Every day :happyme

I REALY liked what you said about talking out loud too as in one LD I spoke to a dream character and managed to say I Am dreaming a cupple of times and I sounded like I was far away under water! So working on it in day time seems an excellent idea
Happy dreaming and oh yes the thread on dream guides you mentioned is amazing and very inspiring for all I think
