I was hanging with a friend, let's call them "M". For some reason there had been an event which caused M to lose all memories of the last few years, wiping all knowledge of who I and her other friends were.

M was going slightly crazy, she was getting all the Christmas decorations out in May and setting them all up in her house, me and the other people there were practically yelling at her wondering why she was preparing for Christmas in May, but she didn't seem to care. All she questioned was who we were, what we were doing in her house and what business it was of ours.

We continually got frustrated while she was running around the house finding places for all these Christmas decorations, as more were placed we decided to go along with the Christmas in May idea, but request that she at leasts follows our traditions. She stops everything that she's doing and stares at us before saying, "You tell me you're my friends, yet there is no evidence of that... why should I follow traditions that I don't even know?"

One of my other friends, "E", gets upset. She runs out of the house and M huffs and gets back to putting up the Christmas decorations. Soon everyone else besides me leaves, trying to look for E and comfort her.

That's when the entire dream kind of... resets. It was almost like a false awakening but the dream just bounced right back to the beginning of where it started, only this time, it was just me and M. I start questioning the reality of the situation and before I know it, I'm lucid.

I hold my hand out and inspect the 8 fingers I have, before M turns around and starts laughing manically. At this point I don't think I truly had time to understand what it meant to be in a dream, I was maybe at Layer 2 lucidity. I panic because of how evil M is sounding and try to back away and walk through the wall to escape, only the wall remains solid.

M runs for me, leaping on top of me and a knife appears in her hand. I try my best to will her out of existence, or will myself to another place, but the best I can do it repel her off of me but she just runs back up with the knife in hand and starts stabbing my arm.

I give up on lucid powers and somehow manage to grab the knife from her hand and try stabbing her. She starts laughing again as I thrust the knife down but it just bends as if it was plastic, no damage was made to her at all. In my shock, she gets the knife back off me and starts stabbing again.

The pain shooting through my arm is so realistic and I can't seem to focus on anything. I close my eyes and will myself to be somewhere else.

The pain stops, I open my eyes and I'm back in the waking world.

I had initially slipped out of a dream and into a false awakening, which I managed to pick up on and immediately woke after realising it was a dream. I wanted to get up anyway and write down the dream I just had as this night I had only recalled one dream, but I decided to take a chance, sacrifice remembering that dream and DEILDed back into the false awakening.

I was initially sure I wasn't in a dream as I didn't feel myself fall asleep from the DEILD, but I performed a reality check anyway and realised that I was in fact dreaming!

I pulled myself up from the bed and everything was blurry and spinning around me. This time though, unlike my other lucid dreams, I remembered to perform stabilisation techniques. I rubbed my hands together and spun around but it didn't seem to be working at first. It felt like I was looking at the world through a fisheye lens that was incredibly zoomed out. It was really disorientating.

I blinked after performing a lot of stabilisation, and after the blink things became the most vivid they have been in any of my lucid dreams. I walked out of my door and to my stairs, where my Dad was standing at the bottom. He begins walking up the stairs as I'm walking down them, and I decide to just push him back off the stairs so I can get by, just to see his reaction. He kind of stumbles, looks at me funny, and then walks away.

I walk into the living room, it's dark in here but I walk through into my kitchen area. I get annoyed at the darkness so I try to use powers to turn on the light, but nothing seems to be happen. I flick the light switch and the light starts flickering dimly but I still can't get it to turn on.

I decide to walk outside, when I open the door I notice that it's actually daytime outside, roughly mid-morning. As I'm walking I notice that I don't have any shoes or socks on and get worried that the discomfort of walking on the rough ground with bare feet would wake me up. I look away from my feet and conjure some shoes and I become excited when it actually works as this was my first conjuration. Though, despite this, I'm still feeling the rough ground as if I was bare foot.

I remember that I could just fly into the air, I jump up and still don't seem to have full control over flying as I can't sustain it for long and land back down on the grass. I try again and this time manage to float up to about as high as the roof of my house and stop briefly to decide what to do next. I decide I want to go exploring and when I fly up to get a view of my surroundings I seemingly uncontrollably begin shooting up into the sky at high speed until I'm above the clouds. I look around and notice an interesting looking area, with bright red roads and tall buildings. I fly down to it and look around the area, it seemed to be a school of magic or something, there were students inside the buildings brewing potions and practicing spells. Still not having full control over flying, I'm kind of "drifting" as I turn corners and can't quite get the hang of stopping when I want to. I stop briefly to try and find to find a balance before flying back over this school building and to my house.

Upon landing, I remember my dream objectives list and the top one being to try some dream food. I hold my hands out and look away, trying to conjure a plate with a sandwich on, only I don't get the sandwich and just end up with a plate. As I continue trying to conjure the sandwich onto this plate, the plate seems to develop a life of its own and it's jumping out of my hands and gradually growing in size with each attempt I make.

I turn around and see my mum glaring at me, I'm kind of disturbed because of how aggressive she looked. I walk up to her and she immediately lashes out, grabbing the plate and trying to pull it from my hands. I resist for some reason, and then think "If I can't conjure myself a sandwich, maybe I should just ask a dream character to make it for me?". I asked her and her aggressive attitude immediately changes to a smile as she says "Sure!". I let her have the plate and she begins walking back into the house and I'm following her, when the dream quickly fades to black. I try stabilisation techniques but it's too late and I woke up.

Funnily, I awoke precisely 3 minutes before my alarm would be going off. It never ceases to amaze me how precise the body clock can be.

Prior to this dream I had been taking Sageous' advice for WBTBs from his WILD class, as well as dream incubating and generally telling myself that I was going to recognise that I was dreaming next time I was in a dream.

The dream before this I also achieved another milestone, I was successfully able to "chain" two dreams together after incubating the previous dream. I didn't become lucid in that one though.

I was at some sort of theme park with my mum, my sister & her children and my brother & his girlfriend. I forget large portions of the beginning of the dream, there's fragments of us going around the park on all sorts of different rides and doing different activities. Although, I'm not entirely sure if they are fragments or just drastic scene changes, as drastic scene changes are a common occurrence in my dreams.

Near closing time for the park, me and my mum depart from the group to go find our car as we couldn't remember where we parked it. We were walking up this hill, which upon waking I realise how realistic it was. I could feel my legs getting tired and struggling to walk up this hill after a day of walking around the theme park. Eventually we reach the parking lot, we look around for our car but there are so many we don't seem to be able to find it.

We meet back up with my brother and sister who we queue up with as we're going out the park, we all get in my brother's car and start driving off. I question what we're going to do about my mum's car because surely we can't just leave it at the park. I'm assured that it's fine and we can just pick it up next time we come to the park.

I start becoming suspicious, going to theme parks with my family isn't a common occurrence, but somewhat brush it off anyway. We begin discussing when next we would be coming and planning a date, when I realise we're no longer driving on the road. We're on the sidewalk next to the road, driving over patches of grass and rocks.

I do a reality check by counting my fingers, which fails, although I'm still suspicious. Awareness kicks in and I'm realising that despite driving over this rough terrain the car's driving along smoothly, as if it was flying above the ground slightly. I also realise there doesn't seem to be any sense of gravity of G-Force from the moving car.

I force my mind to get in the "Reverse Reality Check" mindset that Sageous has been teaching in his WILD class and begin "pulling" my consciousness into the dream world by solidifying my place in the dream, and realising what that truly means. I count my fingers again, but it still fails. I decide to try another reality check, I plug my nose and am shocked when I am able to breathe!

I'm still sceptical, I was thinking about jumping out of the car but after so many failed reality checks I didn't want to risk that just incase it was real life. I put my finger up to the window of the car and try to will it through the glass, but it fails also. I undo my seatbelt and definitely begin to realise there's no sense of realistic gravity here, there's nothing pulling me back into my seat when I sit forward.

I try to imagine myself floating and then going out through the roof of the car, I float up somewhat but don't quite make it all the way out of the car and fall back into my seat. I look at the window again and really try to will my finger going through, pushing harder and harder on the glass but with no luck, it seems solid.

I become frustrated, I know it's a dream but nothing I seem to do is working. I guess because of how sceptical my mind was after all the failed reality checks.

At this point the dream starts becoming fuzzy, I can feel myself losing the dream so I become calm and focus to the best I can. The dream fades back in momentarily but as soon as I drop focus it instantly goes to black and I find myself back in the waking world.

I had woken up multiple times today, each time failing to achieve any kind of dream recall. I decided to do my WBTB 30 minutes later than normal just to test it out as I hadn't been having any luck with my previous time. I figured I may as well attempt a WILD so I get relaxed and begin my attempts, only I drift into sleep by accident.

I find myself in some kind field, somewhat resembling the field I had been previously dream incubating, only with many more trees surrounding the area. There's a gathering of sorts between myself and friends I know from the internet, everybody's hugging and greeting each other. At one point, one of my friends who happens to upload vlogs to YouTube pulled out his video camera and began recording the event, a tall guy wearing all black and sporting an afro who I don't seem to recognise makes a remark about how crazy my friend must be for talking to a camera, and how he could never do such a thing.

As the gathering gets in full swing, I realise I am one of the shortest people here, being only 5'6" it isn't an uncommon thing for me. I begin to get anxious that everybody is taller than me, which is strange as I'm usually perfectly content with my height in real life. I'm fighting my way through the crowds of people who are all chatting. I end up bumping into this guy, dirty-blonde medium-length hair, sporting a scruffy beard of the same colour and bright green eyes. He also seems to be concerned that everybody else is much taller than he is, he's about my height, maybe a little shorter.

I seem to instantly bond with this guy, we have a pretty lengthy conversation which I've completely forgotten now. We decide to split away from the group, as we're walking away we're playfully fooling around. I should mention that I'm bisexual. I hear a voice from behind make a remark about "guys in love" but choose to ignore it. I rest my head on his shoulder and he turns his head and looks me at my directly with his green eyes and i'm taken aback by how perfect he looked in that moment.

We end up beside a stream, he sits down on the sloping grass just beside the river and I follow his lead. I get lost in conversation (which again I have forgotten) as well as sound of the running water from the nearby stream. Things blur, my vision fades and before I know it the dream had a complete scene change

I'm in the living room of my house with all the people from the gathering, including the nameless dirty-blonde haired guy. We again decide to split from the group and head into the kitchen where we're discussing what's happening. I recall a familiar voice say "Hello" as she walks in the door. A bright red haired lady with a long face and somewhat haunting. I place the voice with the woman from the field who made the remark about us being in love.

She suggests a game of Truth or Dare, although she calls the game something else at the time, but I forget precisely what she called it. We decide to take her up on her offer, and it's my turn first, I pick truth. She begins going into scientific detailing of the specific names of genitalia for transexual people, I blame the genitalia conversation from IRC the night before this lucid dream. When she's finished, she asks if either of us are transexuals, to which we truthfully respond "No".

For some reason, there is a strange shift in the entire dream here. I seem to have two consciousnesses. My dream self and my waking conscious self floating around in the head of my dream self. All three of us begin discussing the "game", something my dream self seemed to understand, but I had no idea what this "game" was all about.. We start detailing why each of us wants the prize money from the game and it turns out that the red-haired woman actually has a really good cause, she intended to use all of the prize money to repair the world after the chaos. Again something my dream self seemed to realise, but I was amiss as to what this chaos was.

Dirty-blonde-haired guy states that, if he wins, he will donate all of the money to red-haired girl to help with her cause. This leads to all of us eventually teaming up as a group in this "game". We start discussing strategy and state how the prize fund gets bigger with each person that gets kicked out of the game.

My mum, who for some strange reason was the organiser of these games, walked into the kitchen just as we were mentioning how the outside world seemed to have died down as of late and how we're currently safe in this house. I'm still unsure of exactly what these games were about or what they involved, and what had caused the outside "chaos", but dream self had no problems knowing what it was all about. My mum quickly corrects us, saying how we're fooling ourselves if we believe that.

She guides dirty-blonde-haired guy and red-haired woman to the window in the living room, while I hang around in the kitchen momentarily to clean up some mess. I soon follow after and both of them are breaking down on the sofa, crying. An overwhelming sense of worry takes over and I rush to the window and am in shock at what I see.

Cars are turned over in the streets, houses are on fire and there are burnt corpses laying on the ground. Any people that aren't burnt to a crisp are crawling along the floor, grasping on to the last ounces of life. I ask my mum if I can go upstairs to get a better look out the upstairs window, when all of a sudden it hits me.

I begin thinking, this can't be real, I know it's a dream. I lift my hands and my vision begins to blur but I try my hardest to focus and count my fingers, there are far more than there should be and I know for sure that it's a dream. I begin getting excited, I can't decide what to do first.

I notice the dream seems to be continuing regardless, my mum is already walking up the stairs and for now I decide that I want to continue on with the dream. I follow her up the stairs and into her bedroom, she stops momentarily to slip off her shoes, mentioning how she doesn't want to get the carpet dirty before walking up to the window.

I decide to break away from the dream here and get a good view, I walk straight up and through the wall, finding it much easier to will myself through the wall unlike my first lucid where I got stuck. I also went straight into flying after passing through, instead of falling down to the ground first.

I am again shocked at the detailing of the world around me. The trees are bright green and full of detail, the fires blaze and I can vividly hear the screams for help from the dying people. I fly down the street but seem to struggle to stay up in the air, I slowly descend and try to adjust my body into a position that can fly the best.

I'm low enough now that I am obscuring the cars on the road, there's a truck behind me honking its horn, obviously wanting me to get out of the way. I turn around and decide to use telekinetic powers to flip the truck over and it's completely destroyed on impact.

I continue flying down the road, and round onto the other street which joins onto mine. I again flip over another car and I seem to accidentally flip it right on top of this innocent car on the side of the road. I begin to feel guilty and go over to help this guy out of his car. He has about 5 young children and insists on fetching a doctor to help. I inform him that I could heal, knowing I'm dreaming and that I could just will their health into existence.

Regardless, he insists on getting a doctor. He steals a nearby car and I leap in just as he's driving off trying to get him to listen. The spinning of the car and being disorientated seems to kick me out of lucidity. I fall out the car, he drives off and I become completely non-lucid.

Everything is incredibly blurry from this point. I remember flashes of staying with the children, the guy coming back with a doctor and then being in a hospital as the guy is reunited with his wife and they're told that all of the children will be okay.

I fade back into waking life and the dream is over.

    5. 4th May 2012 - First Lucid Dream

      by , 05-08-2012 at 09:23 PM
I was in a foggy, snowy environment. I believe there were mountains in the distance but the fog was so dense that I couldn't be sure. Out of the fog a white fox came pacing towards me. I got the feeling the fox knew me and that I knew it, it continued to pace towards me without unlocking its gaze from me. I become suspicious of my environment and perform a reality check by looking at my hands. I had an extra finger! The dream dissolves, becoming more and more foggy, before I seemingly awake.

Although, I hadn't awoken. I was laying in bed but still something felt very odd, I checked the time twice, and the time had changed. I checked my hands to make sure and I now had 7 fingers. I realised I was still dreaming and got excited, the dream faded again and I actually awoke.

I was still in a daze, unsure of what happened, but I attempted going back to sleep. I was laying in my bed with eyes closed when all of a sudden my body just felt weightless, like a feather. I gradually opened my eyes and checked my hands, I again had 7 fingers and knew I was dreaming, but I checked the clock to make sure, it was changing times.

I lifted myself from bed, kind of unsteadily and was shocked by how realistic my room felt, yet it was still kind of dreamy. There were slight differences to real life though, I noticed something pulled out from under my bed, and the drawer in my desk was open.

I decide I want to try flying, I walk up to my wall/window and imagine myself phasing through it, I put my hand on it and it just slips through the wall. I edge the rest of my body through and it feels like my entire body is being squashed as I pass through, it was a really strange sensation. As I reach the outside world, my weightless body floats down into the garden.

I am again in awe at how realistic the dream is, I could feel the grass between my toes and the cool air. I assume it was early morning as the dream was dimly lit, I want extra light so I try to brighten the dream but it only gets washed out and blinding, so I tone it back down.

I then try to fly, I leap up into the air but I am unable to sustain the flight, and instead simply leap over the back fence into a small garden, nothing but grass surrounded by fence. I try to leap into the air again, only this time I shoot right up, flying higher and higher and eventually into the clouds. I can see all the houses and gardens below me and I am beginning to see the curvature of the Earth.

I begin flying, it was a surreal feeling. I am in a superman pose although I notice I am quite bad at turning. I move my legs and just about manage to perform a turn. As I'm flying by this building, I attempt to smash the windows in it with telekinetic powers, but fail.

I come across this zoo-like area, there's only one cage with animals in it and they were polar bears. They are fighting it out. I wonder why the zoo is closed, but notice a sign that mentioned it was Saturday but that the theme park was still open.

I fly down a bit more and see queues of people and roller-coasters, all tightly packed together. I fly up into the inner-workings of the roller-coasters, a small dimly lit box where all the roller-coaster tracks passed through. I am almost hit by the coasters several times, and make sure I can pass through the roller-coaster tracks like I did with my wall so I know I am not going to be hit.

I cannot find a way out of this room, but notice in the distance a group of kids swinging down on ropes and watching the coasters zoom by. I hover up to them and grab onto one of their ropes as they pull me up.

I begin to lose lucidity, I walk down a flight of stairs and become lost in this house. I ask a woman if she knew the way out, but she seemed to be kind of lost too, there were lots of false doorways with nothing but brick walls behind them. Eventually we go down this tiny flight of stairs and have to duck under a low roof with a tiny door at the end.

Things blur here and I lose a lot of vividness and all my lucidity.

      Non-lucid segment:
I find myself in town. I am an earth-bender and somebody else is a fire-bender. We decide to combine out elements to make a lava-element. It gets out of control and lava is spewing up from the ground and lava golems are rising out and attacking.

I try to control it by restricting my earth element but fail. I go get the fire-bender back, who was just driving away in his fancy car. I get in the driver's seat of his car and drive it back down to where the chaos is happening, smashing his car into another parked outside a store, and then we stop the lava.

I realise in the intensity of performing lava abilities that my earth-bending has become much more powerful, I am able to move people underground, effectively teleporting them, just by surrounding them in earth. Everyone is fascinated with my new power and we do a bunch of experimenting with it, before I wake up.
