    15-07-18 Alien infestation

I was in some kind of team of special forces. We knew of a hostile alien presence in the city. We used a very advanced type scanner (sattelite-based perhaps) to scan the city for alien life forms. The entire underground (sewers, subway tracks) lit up pink. They had to be completely infested and overrun. I don't think this mission was "official" or government sanctioned. We were on our own. We were a team of four. One was a woman. We entered a small building were we had stashed all our gear. We wore massive suits of advanced armor, making us look like futuristic medieval knights. Our weaponry was equally grotesque. Miniguns, a massive rocket launcher, stuff like that. Sadly, the others had already grabbed the cool stuff, so I was stuck with an oversized assault rifle, and a smaller carbine as back-up weapon. We all felt this could be a one-way trip. The idea was simple, but by no means easy - we would ride a small rail vehicle and plant explosives throught the entire underground. Then, we'd blow the whole place to Hell.

We went in, but pretty soon things got messy. I have no recollection of what the aliens looked like, but soon enough we ended up in combat. Also, it turned out the government didn't like our mission, and had dispatched CIA operatives to stop us. Among them was Noah Bennet. I wasn't sure they were directly attacking us, or if the aliens were between us and them, but we were taking casualties. I remember a fragment of a vehicle, possibly the train cart, hanging off a chasm - the female member of the team barely hanging on. I grabbed her arm, but she lost her grip and fell to her doom. At the end, we were trying to escape via a freight elevator. We just ran for it, explosions and gunfire (the CIA team?) right behind us. I got in first, but was knocked to the floor. I waited for my surviving buddies, but then there was another explosion. Blood, gibs, and a stray eyeball were all that was left of them. Shaken and frustated, I activated the elevator. I never knew if the mission had succeeded or not.
