    1. #77 - Thought I was awake/Lucid and then evil lanterns/Lucid and god damnit chucky x2

      Dream 1 - Thought I was awake
I decide to get up and go toilet, everything is completely normal, I'm in my flat and the locations are all correct. I notice that my flatmates door is open (in retrospect I realized that it was the wrong flatmate) and that he must be in the toilet, so I wander down and he just gets out, I then proceed in. I take a leak but cannot aim at all >_< I just get it everywhere, I want to clean it up but then my other flatmate turns up knocking on the door, I say that I'm in there but he still comes in! He just reaches in and grabs some object and then leaves. The door is still kind of open and I hurriedly clean up the mess... I then wake up in my bed thinking thank god I didn't wet the bed O_O

Dream 2 - Lucid and then evil lanterns
I'm lying in bed after having a cup of mugwort tea, deciding to give it a try once more to see if it actually does anything. I close my eyes and roll through my SSILD cycles trying to pump up my awareness. Once finished I imagine the feeling of running, I was just lying there and then I actually started to FEEL it... Surprised but calm, I went with the flow, a few seconds later I was running down a road... I immediately decided that I wanted to complete a dream task for once instead of mucking around (saying this out loud in the dream too, a bit curious to whether I was talking out loud IRL), I had already previously decided to drink a potion that revealed the ultimate truth. I see a man cycling uphill on the road I'm on and he has a potion in his jacket, I try to get him but he's too fast. I then use my dream powers to force-smash him off the bike like a Jedi, then force-pull him towards me. I loot the potion and read it, it's some kind of olive oil, delicious . I seem to be in a different area now too, it's kind of dark and in the distance there are these bobbing lights, I'm standing in the shadow of a building and I think I destroy a couple skeletons. I consume the 'potion of ultimate truth', lo and behold I realize... that the skeletons are the helping me, it's those bobbing lights which are evil sentient floating lanterns trying to take over my dream world. I don't remember too well what happens next, but I beat up some more skeletons, kind of forgetting the 'ultimate truth'. I think I kind of follow the dream and lose a bit of lucidity, but my brother approaches me, he is a skeleton too. He tells me to do something, but I can't remember that either, I end up in the area where I first spotted those bobbing lights, there's a girl on a bridge where zombies are trying to get her. She's a beautiful redhead and no one that I recognize, I smash through the zombies and take her with me, running past zombies which are now strangely sessile and passive. Maybe the zombies were risen by the lanterns?

I felt like a lot happened and I assumed I'd be able to remember most of it, but I think I forgot heaps after losing a bit of my lucidity.

Dream 3 - Lucid and god damnit chucky x2
After the last dream, I found it easy to slip straight into lucidity the same way. It's extremely low level, like I knew it was a dream but I didn't really try to do anything. I'm at someones flat, the girl wants me to crash there and the other guys don't. I get sneaked into her room or something after a long disagreement in their hallway. I wasn't trying to get laid either, it was purely friendship, we started reading a book and I saw a house, it was moving and I could see Chucky the evil doll... I don't want to see him so I try dismiss him, I don't think I had much success because as I looked out the girls window I saw several Chuckys climbing out the window of a neighbouring house. I do a wave of my hands (this has been pretty much the most common way for me to dismiss or interact with the dream world) and try to make him disappear, but it's hard because I keep thinking about him >_<.

I wake up after the dream and after cementing it to memory I slip straight back into the dream, I end up in a similar scenario and pissed off with it I just wake myself up and get up for the day.
    2. #76 - Virtual world MMORPG/A big shark made me lucid

      by , 03-09-2015 at 07:31 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

Dream 1 - Virtual world MMORPG
I'm in a virtual reality MMORPG (think SAO or .Hack//) and another player takes me under his wing, guiding me and teaching me about the game (at first it doesn't feel like a game, and becomes more game-like as the dream progresses). We travel down a dirt road, the scenery is somewhat chaotic, like we're in hell or something... The sky seems red, the clouds are more like smoke, it seems like it was hot too. We come across our destination, a demon gate, my mentor leaps down and I follow without hesitating (it resembled a hole in the ground with a bright flaming portal a couple metres down). We get teleported to a new room, as we fall there is another portal beneath us and we air-jump to the side to avoid falling into it, it appears that this portal takes you to the next level of the game which I'm not strong enough for. Landing on the ground in this new room next to the portal, I notice the floor is made of sand, the room itself is square and a bit small, the walls don't really exist and there is darkness beyond (like the edge of a map in a video game). There is danger in this room though, tall sand people form from and spew sand at me, then collapse back down. If they spawn beneath you and you don't move, you die, and if they hit you then you die, so the whole time being in this room I'm just jumping and dodging. While doing this, the mentor tells me that he made a miscalculation and lost a great deal of his money by accident and that to make up for it we should try reach the next level, but it's about 9:35pm and my gf and daughter just got home so I want to spend time with them. At this point I'm circuiting the room in a sprint and the sand spews are piling up a dune of sand making it easier to get out or something, the mentor compliments me on this strategy.

Dream 2 - A big shark made me lucid
I'm standing at the edge of a deck, I seem to own a beach house that's right next to the water. I notice some beautiful starfish, sea urchins, seaweed, etc, and think to tell my daughter about them... Like posing a question to make her think about life or something lame like that . Suddenly I realize I have to be careful, then look to my right and spot a HUGE shark fin slicing the surface of the water. It must have been 1 metre high and a grey-white colour... I jump backwards and it comes close enough to touch the edge of the deck which should be impossible (since the water by the deck is only foot deep and is rocky as hell). Knowing that it was impossible I think to check if it's a dream, I get my hands in front of me and just look at them for a bit... My eyes start focusing and I see the imagery of my hands jitter a bit, I feel something in my mind changing as I become lucid, like a veil being lifted. I stand up and look for the shark, thinking to myself "whoa this is cool, I'll shoot a kamehameha at the shark!". I hold my hands in position (a bit different to the way it's actually done)... "Kaaaa... Meeee... Haaaa... Meeee... HA!" a subtle 'whoosh' 'brrrgh' 'splash' happens as an invisble orb shoots from my hand, flys through the air and smacks the water. Underwhelming, but it's progress. Moving on I decide to run around the corner of my house (internally I was thinking about doing a TOTM but couldn't be bothered in the end), there's water here and some waves (a bit inconsistent, like the waves were coming from the wrong direction) there was another shark that looked a bit handicapped. The water was still way too shallow for any of this, but there was also some people playing in the water. I feel like I'm not moving fast enough, the idea to fly crosses my mind, the last time I tried I had failed miserably, but this time was different . Leaping into the air I suddenly feel lighter, then WHOOSH! I shoot off into the sky and fly through the clouds. The feeling is euphoric and I quickly calm myself so as not to end the dream. I notice that the clouds are dark with a red hue, crackling red lightning from some spots. Not wanting to deal with this shiz, I wave my hands, signaling the dismissal of the clouds. They part and dissipate, and as I continue flying I see a floating cloud castle. It had brilliant hues to it, it seemed majestic and beautiful, a large cloud man floated out of a nearby window, he beckoned me towards him, it was none other than Zeus! I feel the weight of my body change, becoming heavier... Suddenly it's a bit harder to control my flying, and the next thing I know, I'm awake and I was having such a good dream >_<

Note: Only used SSILD, no longer sick and had an awesome sleep the night before.

    3. #70 - In a desert (LD), getting tested by an eftpos machine

      by , 03-01-2015 at 10:49 PM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

      Dream 1 - In a desert (LD)
I wasn't sure if this was a lucid dream at first, my recall for it was quite bad... I thought that I might have just had a dream about a lucid dream or something O_O. I was walking up a desert road, I think I looked at my hands and noticed I was dreaming, I felt that it was a really strong lucid dream (which sucked because I can't really remember it and it was early in the night so it didn't last long) which was stable and had a high amount of clarity. I decided to test my control of the area around me, at first I tried to shape a small pyramidal dune of sand into a large square/rectangle. This was extremely hard for some reason, but I was managing to slowly control the shape of the sand dune... I think I woke up shortly after this because like I said, it was quite early in the night and the dream stage didn't last long.

Dream 2 - getting tested by an eftpos machine
So I remember being in the geology department of a building, it seemed to be a white-coat kind of lab. I had bumped into another geologist who was bald or something. A time/space jump occurs and I'm in front of a eftpos machine, except it seems to be testing me, and the bald guy is going through a similar experience. I get 18/19 for my score, he gets 13/17 (didn't notice that the total amount you could earn wasn't meant to be different sadly, didn't get lucid ). His son comes up and helps him out and punches in some buttons, I don't remember much after this.

      Dream 3 - Unknown
There WAS another dream that I fully remembered having between the dreams above, but I completely forgot it randomly before >_<
    4. #69 - very short LD

      Dream - Very short LD
I'm walking on the pavement towards a dairy (quite a famous dairy where I live called Rob Roy) in the town I'm currently staying in, I decide that I should look at my hands and as I do this I realize I had done this pretty recently (for like 5 minutes before going to bed) and simultaneously just became lucid. I stop in the street kind of noting where I am and instantly try to shout 'clarity', but my voice is quiet and the dream isn't stable. I wake up, I lie in my bed and go back to sleep straight away, this time I decide not to open my eyes and try to 'hear' the dream world. I can hear the wind, and I know that I should hear the cars but there aren't any... I open my eyes but I don't enter the dream world, instead I'm just lying in bed awake >_<.

The whole thing was extremely short, must have been about 10 seconds and it's the only dream I can remember from last night. It's also the first time I've looked at my hands before going to bed, while I did couple this both WBTB and SSILD I think it aided in getting me lucid.
    5. #67 - slightly scary but not really (lucid)

      by , 02-25-2015 at 06:32 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

Dream - Desert with ghost woman
Before become lucid I remember that I was driving to a house in a dusty kind of Australian outbacks scenery... I think I might have been dropping someone off, but I became lucid as I left the place, and somehow I'm no longer in the car (which I don't notice at the time). My reaction is dulled, and my realization to the lucidity is weak at best which is likely why it was quite stable and calm. Some kind of thing approaches me but I can't remember this part at all, I only remember dismissing it from my mind during the dream to get rid of it (hence why I probably can't even remember it, good job me ). I seem to walk around the environment for a little longer until a grey-skinned skeletal woman appeared. (my first impression was an anorexic black woman, but the more I think about the less I feel it looked like that). She kind of floated about, and the whole thing made me uneasy, but since I knew it was a dream I tried to dismiss it. This time it didn't go so well... I was trying to dissolve the spectre but nothing was happening . Progressing to a more panicked state I realize there's a wooden pole in my hand and she's on the opposite side of a fence now, I wack at her over and over but the stick just goes through her. She floats through the fence towards me, and now I try something unthinkably weird... Like I would never do this kind of weird O_O I try to transform her into an actual woman, reforming her image (since this felt so low-level I don't think I really had much going on in terms of thought processes, like there was no filter). I get behind her a get closer, she's got tanned-dark skin now and I try to make her breasts bigger (jesus should I be writing this...) The next thing was to kind of humanize her and turn her on or something, I get quite a bit of success but 10 seconds from starting this whole approach I ended up waking up.

    6. #66 - Working at the gardens, Reading in class, Library and changing room

      by , 02-24-2015 at 07:30 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

Dream 1 - Working at the gardens
I'm going to start my new job at the gardens, which is basically like a public sanctuary for plants, quite similar to the one that I live near. My girlfriends little brother works there too apparently, he drives a scooter to get there. I commute with my dad since it's my first day, and I think I have a smoothie prepared for lunch. I also think that it may have been called the 'Tower Garden' or something... There were a few names for the place floating around in my head but that's the only one I can recall.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A time lapse seems to happen because there's a complete scenery and situation change, I'm now in my parents house and my mum is hustling around in a hurry trying to get ready for work. I feel that it is nearly noon, and I have an itchy elbow... I look at my elbow and it has these specks of little white worms under the skin...
I try and pop them out of my skin, and with very little success I go and show my mum since she's a nurse. She goes off to find me an anti worm cream or something, and before she comes back I've switched to looking at my ankle... For some reason I feel like there is something there and I try and pop it, and OMFG ! A 1cm diameter hole oozes out this thick yellow creamy goo. Holy ****ing disgusting... I show my mum (while feeling slightly discomforted) and she gets a bit frustrated because she doesn't want to be late for work, she sighs and says "For gods sake, is it bubbly?" moving straight to a diagnostic question as she turns towards the kitchen to find more medicine.

Dream 2 - Reading in class
I'm sitting in a school classroom near the back of the room on the wall side on a simple chair and personal desk (kind of similar to an anime classroom where they have a windowed side with those single person desk + chair setups). I'm lucid from the start, and for a moment I question if I'll need to stabilize and I feel my heart thump at the thought of losing stability. All stays calm, everything is stable, and the world is completely quiet... I have a simple book in front of me, I don't believe I had a great deal of control since my objective just became to pick this book up and try to read it without even thinking about all the things I've been dying to try out , but anyways... I open it up and try to read it, everything is just jumbled letters in the sentences, like this "werwer joji ger kloj jwegfweg ohqndfei", so I try again by looking away and looking back at the pages. This time the words have change "Out building house trailer love, the is at hello..." etc just random words that were non-nonsensically placed. I think I perform this one more time with the same result of nonsense, I don't recall doing much else and seem to just wake up naturally.

Notes on lucid - I think it was a new thing to just have a straight calm and stable lucid, although it was remarkably underwhelming and boring relative to my other experiences.

Dream 3 - Library and Changing Room
So I'm in a hallway which is simultaneously a library... There's one book shelf that's hip height and has about 3 rows on it, it's situated on the window side of the hallway (of which it is pretty much a looking glass window 2 metres wide space a few centimetres apart. I think there's like a garden enclosure that you can see, and it reminds me of the view from the teachers hallway at my old high school when I was younger. I seem to be browsing the collection of futurama episodes (book versions) which goes on for a few minutes until a person next to me stops and browses for some disk called 'H'. I've apparently listened to the disk before and advise him about it. Things move on and I notice my friend Zac walking into the girls area of changing rooms, which I'm like "Oh damn what a lucky bastard" for some reason. I wonder why he's even allowed in there, and then for some reason like a minute later it's also the changing rooms for people who are homo sexual. I also walk past and see a window and as I look at it I realize it's the changing room window and see a chick take her shirt off at the far end of the changing room, she had brown hair, pale skin and was quite skinny. I completely forgot about this dream for like an hour after having it, glad I remembered it
    7. #61 - 3 lucid dreams on my first night trying again

      by , 02-14-2015 at 11:02 PM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

To get these lucid dreams I used the SSILD technique with WBTB after ~4-5 hours of sleep.

      Lucid #9 - Minecraft I guess
I kind of wake up in the dream world knowing that it's a lucid dream, it's dark and I question whether I'm even asleep. I'm also pretty scared because I had some scary though or something before falling asleep, I just willed the emotion away which worked pretty easy. I use my willpower and the world around me becomes lighter and lighter and I manage to find an exit to outside. It's nice and bright outside now, I'm wandering around and the first thing I notice is that everything is minecraft-pixelated, everything is blocky and there are cliffs and trees all around me, even I'm made of blocks. This dream only lasts a few minutes.

      Lucid #10 - Sexy time
Once again I'm just aware that it's a dream and my goal becomes more sexual, so I start kind of testing it since I've never tried it in a lucid dream. I was on a farm by a fence and I think there are 2 girls.. and I'll leave that part out .. After a while I just seem to wake up again, probably a bit longer than the last lucid, maybe ~5-10minutes.

Lucid #11 - Sexy time again
I wake up at about 9 and think that I should probably get up, but I end up falling back asleep. I'm lucid again and I'm at my parents house now, and I seem to be trying to have more sexy time, but then something happens and I'm off wandering around again. I decide that I should try find that girl again so I walk around looking for her, then I seriously start to doubt whether or not it's a dream... EVERYTHING is perfect, the house looks exactly like the real thing, it doesn't 'feel' like a dream and there's nothing remotely dreamlike happening around me... It just feels normal. I then rationalize through it, remembering where I should be and that there's no way I could be at my parents house, I then say in my head "it's definitely a dream damnit". I turn my head to the doors down the hallway and they seem to stretch out a bit as I will something to happen, the feeling that I know this is a dream comes back. I then run towards it (which takes a while because it was still stretching away from me) and push through the doors, I run outside and look for that girl and shout her name now, confident that my parents won't bother me since they're not real. She appears around the corner and I get her and take her back to my room. Sexy time happens again so I'll leave that out, also I was convinced it was night time in real life because the world around me was getting darker, so I willed the world to light up again and it worked.

Notes: These lucids were pretty low level and I felt like I had a lot of control, they were progressively become more realistic with each successive lucid, but they weren't particularly vivid.
    8. #60 - it's time to return to dreamviews :)

      by , 02-13-2015 at 10:43 PM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

I've been inactive with DV for a while now due to just enjoying the holidays with my family and keeping on top of things in life, now I've gained some free time to catch up on things.

Lucid 1: Was out camping for about 8 days and one night just had a random lucid.
I was running out of a building towards a beach on a nice summer day, in the distance I could see a beautiful woman walking towards me, she was under a big Pohutukawa tree which was in full bloom. The beach was white sand and in my peripheral vision the ocean was to my left and green hills to my right. I seemed to realize it was a dream and contemplated becoming 'lucid', then thought "Yeah sure, might as well", and looked at my hands. I became lucid as I did this and it didn't last long, I felt the dream slipping away, then I remembered that spinning sometimes stabilized the dreamland so I gave it a shot... I start spinning in a circle and I feel the dream coming back to me again, but I felt like my lack of experience let the dream slip away in the end.

      Dream:
Last night I remembered meeting my flat mate Oliver and seeing him talking to my other flatmate Phillip, I come out and say hi and he gives me a nod and smile.
    9. #59 - Random WILD

      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

Okay so I woke up around 2-3, I haven't done anything with lucid dreaming for a month or so, haven't even written any dreams down. This is mostly because my baby wakes up a lot during the night so I just find it too difficult at the moment.

When I woke up I didn't get up or anything, I was going to go straight back to sleep, but I noticed that for some reason I could feel myself slipping into a dream, then the vibrations started (for me, this seems to occur mostly around my jaw with the unpleasant feeling of grinding my teeth). Next thing I knew I was in a dream, lucid and in my bedroom, I got out of bed and saw some crazy vivid flashy colours coming from objects sitting on a chair that isn't usually there. I turn my head to the wall and think to stabilize, I also realize I'm floating about as if it was low-gravity. I try shouting 'stabilize!' a few times but I can't really talk, I wake up a few seconds after I got into the dream and turned the light to make sure it wasn't an FA. My gf woke up too, and she confirmed in the morning that I did indeed turn the light wasn't too happy about it though lol.

    10. #56 - Choose a dream/Fish & Chips/freaky WILD event

      by , 11-18-2014 at 10:40 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

      Dream 1 - Choose a dream (3:09am)
Vaguely remember this dream, something about choosing which dream I wanted to go into next, there were sheep involved and I think someone I knew was playing a guitar and the started playing a song that I've been learning, but they were showing off about it or something.

      Dream 2 - Fish & Chips
I'm walking through my hometown at night, I'm in the parking lot and I see my friend D. He seems to have a job at the local fish and chips shop, he offers to make me a meal but it wasn't fish and chips, it was like some crazy dessert pavlova-look-a-like that was super extravagant and exotic.

Dream 3 - WILD (closest thing I've had to a WILD success)
I'm trying to go through my SSILD cycles, I start to notice a WILD transition come on (vibrations and hypnogogia). I try not to focus on them too much like I did the other two times this is happened to me (which I screwed up >_<) and nearly lost it at one point. But then I realized I could egg the vibrations to intensify by using my jaw, tensing it or something. The vibrations intensify to an extreme level, my jaw is buzzing and grinding and vibrating so much the I feel like my tooth is about to break. I make it to the dream, but as I do this my tooth shatters.
I think "Oh ****, my tooth!" My first instinct was to wake up, so I do this and hop out of bed, I spit the tooth into my hand, I can feel the missing slot in my mouth where my tooth was... I stare at the tooth in my hand in disbelief...
I wake up. I had been in a false awakening
    11. #46 - Lucid #5

      by , 11-05-2014 at 01:20 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

      Note
WBTB at ~5, ate a banana, was pretty good. Did 7 short SSILD cycles followed by 2 long ones, then for every 5 minutes or so afterwards I did another 2 short SSILD cycles to maintain the awareness.

Lucid Dream - Almost fought Goku...
Me and E are in the same house, we're looking for something, I think I remember where it is. She's in the lounge and I recall it being somewhere near the TV, so I head there and move towards the direction of the TV. She is in the centre of the room and kind of gasps at my sudden appearance in the room, and it felt like she was infatuated with me. Felt a bit weird because IWL we pretty much hate each other. I rustle around in the cabinets beneath the TV and there's a whole bunch of damn cables in the way. "Wait a minute... What am I doing here?" I kind of just realize that this is all a dream, I don't even bother doing a reality check.

"stabilize now...... stabilize now.... STABILIZE NOW!" The last one I yelled out and the world around me brightened a bit and became more clear, the echo of my shout rings around the room a bit. Oddly enough I noticed now that I was in a kitchen on the 1st floor of a 2 story house, opposed to being on the 2nd floor of a different 2 story house. E was gone now too. I feel like later I should try summon her back. To my left is a fridge, I approach it, the feel of my feet touching the ground is so real. I can see all the individual dust particles that have settled or were floating around the world. I head towards a some carpeted stairs and go up, I'm met by a typical baby-proof gate. I see a toddler walk out of his room rubbing his eyes, he looks at me and I realize he is me as a kid. I continue on, the baby-proof gate mysteriously gone now. I look around and see something I couldn't possibly describe accurately... It was Luffy's brother Ace (from the One Piece anime) and he was made of bubblegum, including his clothing and hat. He was there, then he wasn't. Then I saw a poster in a nearby room that had him and Luffy with there foreheads pressed against each other in an eye-glaring brotherly stare down. The thought that I could summon Luffy just blew me away, I'd be able to hang with him! Awesome. I think to myself that he's behind the door in that room with the poster, and then rush around. But nope, there's a pimply brown-haired 20 year old hipster dude just sitting on the edge of the bed texting. Then somehow I'm given this container of pills called "Black Elite Pills", which in the dream meant that they're what Goku uses to power-up to his Super Saiyan Black Elite level... Which doesn't exist, I know, but I thought it did in the dream . I see Goku in the room sitting at the computer playing games and I decide to pop open the container and eat a whole heap of them, "Hey Goku, let's do this." I throw him the container, and we're getting ready now to duke it out. But I'm awake now. Slowly the clarity of the dream must have been fading away, and I hadn't noticed.
    12. #43 - my 4th lucid dream

      by , 10-31-2014 at 03:10 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

I decided the night before to relax and give lucid dreaming a break while I sorted out some stuff on my plate, I didn't want to overwhelm myself and kill my interest in lucid dreaming. Coincidentally I had my fourth lucid dream. I went to bed at about 2am, and I woke up 3ish hours later. I went toilet and had a drink of water from the tap, then went back to bed. As I was going back to sleep I decided I'd do some very short SSILD cycles, I did one cycle and then proceeded back to my usual day dreaming. Then 5 minutes later I did it again. I did this again another 5 minutes later, each time bringing myself back to an aware state of mind and not really with the intention of getting lucid. This probably is the reason why I got lucid.

      Dream 1 - Halloween
I vaguely remember this dream, something about walking down the street, me and my friends go into a house and I decide I'd better go get some candy from the supermarket to give to kids that come for Halloween. I go outside and my friends are gone or something.

Dream 2 - Graveyard Lucid Dream
I was running around at night in a cemetery, being a rebel or something... The night passed by and I came back the following day, it's a nice and bright beautiful sunny day. I start free-running around the tombstones like Altair or something, jumping and climbing some huge grave pillars and stuff. I see a grave embedded in a wall of dirt about 2-3 metres tall, I run towards it planning on running up it and jumping on top of the ledge. I fail, and hang from the ledge lazily with one arm a few feet above the ground. I look at the tombstone in front of me now, it reads "102-312AD". This strikes as pretty weird. I let go of the ledge and land on the ground, I think to myself "Hmmm, is this a dream? Pffft.. It MUST be a dream, I'm in a friggin graveyard. But... is it?". I challenge myself to fly in order to test if it is a dream, and BOOM, I soar through the air like a pro, once again flying at the start of my lucid dream, like I've done in every single one I've ever had . I land on the ledge of a large 50m tall tomb. I had felt some strong tingling sensations from the wind as I was flying, I decide that it'd be a good idea to connect to the dream and stabilize as much as I can now that I'm lucid. I touch the wall of the tombstone, it's made from conglomerate rock. I notice the dream starts fading regardless of my attempts to stabilize, I start rubbing my hands together to stabilize, but the sensation is a bit dulled now. The dream fades away, but I can still feel the sensation of rubbing my hands together. I think to myself "I just need to open my eyes and see the dream world" but nope, I needed to lie still and do a DEILD if I wanted to regain the dream. Goofed. I screwed it up and lost the dream completely.

I'm starting to understand how I should approach these situations a lot better now, after all it's only my 4th lucid, I'm not expecting myself to be an expert .
    13. #31 - Bad Drivers/Lucid #3/Talking to friends

      by , 10-16-2014 at 10:57 PM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

Note: There were a lot of friends that know, used to know, or haven't seen in a while. Through out all these dreams I seemed to see a whole bunch of them.

Dream 1 - Bad Drivers (before 05 00 - birds started chirping about 30 minutes after I woke so it's a rough estimate).
I am in my university, heading to field (the field is much larger, and has a dirt wall on the left) to meet someone. I remember that my old biol group is meeting too, and I don't want to meet them so I consider running up the side of the dirt wall to get past them. This train of thought is interrupted, as I'm walking I see a crowd of people and a truck just speeds towards them. I SWEAR this truck hit a person, but when is passed there was no one who was injured... I look off to the left and see a bus speeding towards me and the crowd! We all scatter to avoid it, I turn around heading towards a construction area where they're setting new pavement. I remember walking back knowing that the bus has passed, I seem to somehow be talking to a construction worker, I talk weirdly, as if I had a foreign accent... Haziness ensues until I'm walking down the ramp inside the cafeteria building (I remember that it seemed more club-esque style, black walls and dimmed lights etc). I am utterly shocked, because at the bottom of the ramp is my best friend D! He's looking at his phone, I haven't seen him for about a year so I just run towards him and bear hug him . He's apparently gay too, and I hug his boyfriend so he feels welcomed or something.

      Dream 2 - Lucid #3 (07 00ish)
I'm in my high school walking along beside a bus (I used to bus back and forth from school). I see ahead of me my old friends, and M who I used to be really tight with but he moved away. I'm overwhelmed with the same happiness I had when I had seen D in the previous dream, I start running to tackle-hug him, but I stop. The feeling spurs a déjà vu effect, I realize instantly that I'm dreaming. I don't even do a reality check, I start to float and fly away (this has happened at the start of every lucid I've had). I stop myself, telling myself to stabilize the dream first, I'm rubbing my hands together but I can't really feel it. The same thing that happened in my last lucid happened again, I seemed to have my eyes closed, and I knew that once I open them I'd be awake. Bam. Ruined it again somehow.

Note: Stoked to have my 3rd lucid, but I need to learn to make them last and make them stable.

      Dream 3 - Talking to friends (08 30)
I seem to be walking the usual route I take to university, talking to J1 who I don't usually walk with. I tell him that I had my 3rd lucid dream last night, he is impressed and then another friend walks past and asks us what we're talking about. I tell J1 not to say anything, I feel embarrassed about sharing it now (this is probably related to when some people walked in as I was showing J1 some poetry junk I was working on). I see J2 and I'm happy to see him (he used to get bullied and I used to stick up for him in high school), we start talking and I tell him we should go meet with J1 who's standing on the bridge looking into the river (still in the uni, this is all pretty accurately place for the dream world).
    14. #27 - Dream Fragment/Oil Volcanism/Homeless shelter for students/2nd Lucid Dream

      by , 10-13-2014 at 12:29 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

      Day 6 using SSILD
I decided to refocus my intent after reading an old thread about getting out of a dry spell. I knew that I had to build the confidence, so I tried super damn hard, telling myself that I CAN do it, I WILL do it. I kept telling myself to be a natural lucid dreamer, to make myself think that I know it can be done. I got good results and have now broken my dry spell.

      Dream 1 - Dream Fragment (00 35)
Very short, I briefly remember that there was something about lucid dreaming, then I promptly woke up.

      Dream 2 - Oil Volcanism (02 55)
I seem to be on a road trip in a car, driving towards the beach with my brothers gf's family boat (I don't think they have a boat). It feels like I'm in the South Island, and the sky is overcast. Somehow the boat gets into the water and I'm on it now with a friend and a boat guide. I don't really make any contact with the boat guide, he's in the background, I think he was wearing a life vest. There is a board or frame on the wall of the boat, I touch it and know that if I lift it up too much then the boat will fall apart. I turn around at some point to see my friend touching it and he lifts it up too much, subsequently disassembling the boat. We're in the water now, I feel a bit worried about sharks but I don't think too much about it. We try to bring together a sort of 'shield' of boat parts to protect our legs in case there are sharks though, since it felt like there was no way we could get on any of the floating bits without falling off. Next thing I know, we're somehow getting this makeshift 'raft' thing with us in the centre (still in the water though, imagine a barricade) to move towards the oil 'spill', of which was the original goal for the road trip. The oil spill itself is more like an upwelling of oil, it feels a bit warm and is viscous. The plan now is to get back to shore using the flow coming from the upwelling oil, so we wade our little fort on the top of the spill and go down the slide as if it were a slide, gaining momentary momentum. We make it to the edge, I think something to myself along the lines of staying within the boundaries of the oil spill because no wildlife like sharks and stuff would be able to get us. I see the shore in the distance, I start thinking that it isn't that far and so I shouldn't worry about sharks, next thing I know I'm getting out of the water and walking along the shore to the car. As I walk towards the car I see my mum, brother, and my brothers gf drive past, my brother is laughing at some joke. I decide I better go say hi, and walk up to the car. They're standing in a triangle talking, they're here to go see the oil spill too. I try to get into the conversation to apologize to my brothers gf but I can't seem to get into it, I then wake up.

I stay awake for the next 2-3 hours, unable to fall back to sleep as my insomnia seems to kick in. Nearing the end of this (between 5-6) I could hear birds chirping outside, I started trying to make myself fall asleep and focusing on my hypnogogic imagery. I had two intense hypnogogic sounds, one was an amplified bird chirp that boomed down my ear, the other was just a boom.

      Dream 3 - Homeless shelter for students (between 06 00 and 06 30)
I had made my way to a house where lots of people who didn't have houses would sleep, it was free accommodation. Everyone would either be sleeping on the floor, couches or beds, and the house was more like one room. I conversed a little bit with the DC's but I don't recall any of the conversations. I remember thinking that it would be convenient for a student to live here, you wouldn't ever have to pay rent, and for some reason I think that most of the people there were actually students. I decide to lie down and go to sleep on the floor. I wake up during the night and think 'oh shit, I should be going home', knowing that I would have to walk up a huge hill (the image I had of the hill was the exact same one as the one I walk up to get home from my friends house). After this imagery, the house takes on a different tone, kind of resembling an experience where my friend would have get-togethers at his place and we'd crash on his couch. Upon thinking that the hike back will make me sweaty (it's incredibly humid in the place with the hill) I take off my long-johns - this felt like a struggle for some reason.

I try to cement this dream to memory, and as I'm doing so I end up falling asleep again into what is now the 2nd lucid dream I've had.

Dream 4 - The thief who wants our stuff for some reason (07 20)
Almost like a continuation of my journey in the past dream, I'm now home. I'm conversing with my family in the family room about how a thief is going to try and steal chess pieces from us (they're super small too). I remember something about them having a special power when they're all brought together. We decide to keep them in a chest and protect them, we have to go away somewhere so the thief can't find us. The king piece isn't with the other pieces though, it's been completely forgotten by the others. I walk into the sitting room (I think Americans call this a lounge) and look around for a while. I seem to be on my stomach on the floor, I notice that at the bottom of a 1m tall, 15cm wide wooden stand thing is the king chess piece. It looks like a knight though . I think to myself that I should keep it to myself and that way no one will know where the last piece is. It is in a glass box container, I open it up and take it out, I seem to still be lying on my stomach and decide I should probably get up. I hear my mum coming into the lounge, and I barely manage to get up in time and put my arm behind the curtain and the figurine in my mouth, obscuring them both from view. My mum walks through, "Hey mum" I say, it comes out metallic because of the figurine in my mouth. She doesn't pay any attention the weirdness of my voice. Unfortunately I had forgotten to turn off my alarm that goes off at 06 45, the glass box behind the curtain is next to my head and starts vibrating loudly. My mum says "what's that sound?" as she walks towards me with a confused look on her face. "It's just my phone, I like the feel of it", I rub my head against the curtain to what I'm pretending to is now a phone behind it. She then says "Is it coming from behind the curtain?". This felt like an incredibly weird response, I start having an internal monologue: "What? Why would she ask that, I just told her that it's my phone and she can clearly see it's coming from behind the curtain. Is she not satisfied with my answer?" I start to realize that this has to be a dream, my feelings about the current situation flow away as I realize none of it matters. "I'm dreaming" I think to myself. I walk towards the doors that lead to the deck, on my way I do a RC to make sure, pushing my thumb onto the palm of my hand and stretching it elastically. I open the doors and fly outside, it's night time, I fly up a bit and get blocked a bit by the power lines. I decide to go up a bit and hover over the house, and for some reason that I can't recall, I closed my eyes. Big mistake. I think 'oh shit, if I open my eyes I'll be awake >_<'... Then I tried to open my eyes and be in the dream but it didn't work.

Note: I didn't feel overly excited and destabilize the dream like I did in my first lucid, instead I just cocked it up somehow.

    15. #24 - I hope I can purge this from my memory one day...

      by , 10-10-2014 at 07:13 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

I never properly become 'lucid' in this, and I found the dream I had really disturbing so I'm going to cut a few details out for my own sake.

During the night an alarm I had set a week beforehand had gone off at 4am. I wasn't prepared for this, I had completely forgotten, but I decided it would be a good opportunity to do a SSILD because I seemed to have awoken just before an REM period. What followed was my third consecutive attempt at a SSILD and almost my second lucid dream in an extremely disturbing situation.

Dream 1: I hope I can purge this from my memory one day.
I was lying in my bed going through the cycles required in a SSILD technique, eventually I fall asleep (literally after an hour, insomnia nearly kicked in). I'm sitting on the edge of a bed reading a book about hydro-geology (one of the papers I'm studying in university), the room I'm in has a pale blue colour to it, and there is a bookshelf next to me. Two milfs walk in, and the one on the right suggests another book for me to read on the same topic. I thank her for the suggestion, and the two woman sit on either side of me. I get a bit uncomfortable and nervous as I realize what's going on, the two woman are attractive and seem to be interested in me. I put my head into my lap and draw a deep breath, something just doesn't feel right. In the space of a few seconds I've somehow gained the notion that I must be in a dream, but I haven't checked yet, and I'm still thinking about the two woman next to me... They look at me and I only have two thoughts going through my head: Do a reality check... Have a three-way...
Before I could even do anything in these few seconds of mild realization, the woman to my left has hooked up with me, I close my eyes, her tongue feels cold and thin, it shouldn't feel like that. The notion to do a reality check becomes stronger, I just KNOW that I'm dreaming, it has to be, I want to do one but I don't have enough time..
. I'm awake. And incredibly disturbed (since I left some details out, anyone reading this won't know why I feel disturbed).

I decide to reality check and make sure I didn't just have a false awakening, but nope, I'm awake. God damn it. Okay, try again. I go through the cycles again and try it from the beginning, but I'm too sleepy, I keep forgetting. I'm persistent though, I just KNEW that I could do it again. This is where another strange thing happened, I'm still not sure what actually occurred to me...

Lying on my left side, eyes closed. Something's happening. A strobe light-like sensation was happening to eyes, but instead of light, it was an alternating image, I instantly think that I'm entering a dream consciously. It happens in a rapid-fire act, going back and forth, where one second I can SEE my room, then I'm somewhere else, then back to my room, then back to the other place. This sensation only lasted a few seconds and I failed to make it stabilize. I should also note that in this case and inside the dream I had earlier, I felt my heart thumping away, I suspect that the adrenaline rush that came with the prospect of a lucid dream prevented from actually having one. Also I believe that the 'strobe light-like' thing I experienced might have been my eyes starting up an REM period as I was awake and aware, I thought that I might have accidentally almost induced a VILD (since I was heavily visualizing at the time).
