What is the first dream you can remember having?
The first dream I can remember from my childhood has stuck with me my whole life. I'm pretty sure it wasn't lucid, because it was somewhat of a nightmare, but I can remember exactly the way it felt, and how vivid the colors were (they were sort of unrealisticly neon, like from an old Lisa Frank sticker).
In the dream, I'm in the very middle of this huge meadow that is completely open except at the edges, which were tree-lined. Beyond the trees, I could see the far-away outlines of rollercoasters (specifically those from an amusement park I visited every year as a child). The only human characters in the dream are my mom and I, and we are sitting on a red blanket, having a picnic. Everything is normal, until I spot a very large (presumably male, as he looked like a muscular stallion) white unicorn approaching us from a distance. I am excited by this, and start to walk toward it.
As I get closer, I realize that he seems very agitated and angry, as if we are trespassing on his territory or something. I stop about ten feet away from him, and I see him lower his head and paw at the ground, with a very glaring look in his eyes. He suddenly charges past me and towards my mom like an angry bull. I realize he's going to attack her, but she doesn't seem to notice at this point. I run toward them both, and am able to yell to my mother that she should run. She does, and the unicorn rushes past our picnic setup. I get to the blanket, and seize it with both hands. I then proceed to use it much in the same way I bullfighter uses a red cape, to deter him from attacking us.
When the unicorn charges past me, at the point that he is the closest distance to me, I can see him running in slow motion.
I can't seem to remember if he actually succeeded in attacking my mother, but the most vivid picture I remember from the dream is of the huge unicorn, with blood dripping from his horn.
Very creepy dream for a six or seven year old to have.
