What is your earliest dream memory?

What is the first dream you can remember having?

The first dream I can remember from my childhood has stuck with me my whole life. I'm pretty sure it wasn't lucid, because it was somewhat of a nightmare, but I can remember exactly the way it felt, and how vivid the colors were (they were sort of unrealisticly neon, like from an old Lisa Frank sticker).

In the dream, I'm in the very middle of this huge meadow that is completely open except at the edges, which were tree-lined. Beyond the trees, I could see the far-away outlines of rollercoasters (specifically those from an amusement park I visited every year as a child). The only human characters in the dream are my mom and I, and we are sitting on a red blanket, having a picnic. Everything is normal, until I spot a very large (presumably male, as he looked like a muscular stallion) white unicorn approaching us from a distance. I am excited by this, and start to walk toward it.

As I get closer, I realize that he seems very agitated and angry, as if we are trespassing on his territory or something. I stop about ten feet away from him, and I see him lower his head and paw at the ground, with a very glaring look in his eyes. He suddenly charges past me and towards my mom like an angry bull. I realize he's going to attack her, but she doesn't seem to notice at this point. I run toward them both, and am able to yell to my mother that she should run. She does, and the unicorn rushes past our picnic setup. I get to the blanket, and seize it with both hands. I then proceed to use it much in the same way I bullfighter uses a red cape, to deter him from attacking us.
When the unicorn charges past me, at the point that he is the closest distance to me, I can see him running in slow motion.

I can't seem to remember if he actually succeeded in attacking my mother, but the most vivid picture I remember from the dream is of the huge unicorn, with blood dripping from his horn.

Very creepy dream for a six or seven year old to have.

      Can of Worms

From what I remember, I was about 7 years old at the time.

In the dream, I was standing in the back yard in bright sunlight, and I was holding a literal can of worms. I looked into the can and saw that the worms were all dead (I think they had cartoon style X eyes).

I was seven years old or so.

I'm standing in the kitchen with my mom, brother, and his friend Mathew. We're getting ready to go biking. Mom hands us shark-shaped cookies and we're on our way. We bike to this winding path with endless cliffs on either side up to this strange cave-shaped entrance made of trees. It leads into a dark forest. Suddenly a pack of wolves appears from the darkness, the alpha at the front being a large black wolf. My brother and his friend manage to bike away, but my peddles aren't working. I see a tree stump to my left and jump on it. I want to climb the vines along with tree/cave/wall but see the big black wolf jump towards me and bite my stomach.

      Then I woke up.

My earliest dream I can remember is more like a nightmare. I was about five when I had this dream. I was in my mom's car and she was going into a store. The car suddenly started rolling backwards until it fell down in to a river. I had it like three different times. Scary stuff.

I have a couple. Mostly nightmares, though a few were amazing and stuck with me. One of the nightmares was that I was by the front door to my old house as a really, really young child (probably 5 or 6). My mom was asking my brother and I (my sister wasn't around, which makes me think I may have been even younger, maybe 4) if we wanted to take baths first and then go get icecream, or get icecream first. I remember wanting to get icecream first, and my brother having his way. So he and my mom went upstairs and left me sitting pissed off on the bottom step. Then a bunch of aliens came around the corner from the dark room, and attacked me, and I woke up when they killed me.

On a lighter note, one of my best childhood dreams and the earliest was one I only recently realized had to have been a false awakening. I used to have a little kids poster directly across the room from my bed, so I could see it laying down, and it showed a bunch of baby disney characters. Mickey, Minny, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, etc. They were all sitting around in diapers playing with a toy train or something. In I guess what was a dream, I was sitting up and they all started moving. I think it was Donald who was playing with the train and moving it back and forth. I thought that they were really actually moving, and they started to wave to me and stuff. It was pretty cool, and I remember my whole childhood looking at it every night wondering if they'd move again. It happened twice, so I must have redreamed it eventually

i was 7/8 ish. i had a frind who had a wierd condition which meant he was semi paralysed, so he couldnt run very well.

he is in a wheelchair and im pushing him down a hallway, both floor walls and ceiling are made of soft pads (like in those play centres for young children) and crabs are scuttling towards us and i push him away very fast.

wierdly enough i wasnt scared, i wasnt lucid but i had a high level of conciousness as i remember thinking the whole scenario is strange, strnage enough that it wasnt real. i could see it wasnt real but i was to young to understand the concept of a lucid dream so i went with the flow.

btw im assuming that our dreams are made up of combinations of our experiences (films weve seen, places weve been) and most of our first vivid dreams smeem to be from 7 -10. my dream wasnt to bad, but wow some of you guysm what could you have seen to have made you come up with that, the whole blood dripping from the unicorns horn, wow. where do u recon you saw that

Not sure how old i was but i do know i was in a crib so i guess thats pretty young.
I dreamt i was peeking over my crib at the windowsil, the sun was shining in and a elephant toy that was sitting on the sil rose up and started moving across the room, i followed it out and down the stairs when the scene changed to my grans house and the elephant changed into a log.

My earliest was a nightmare that I was being forced to crap into a bucket, and then fed straw so I crapped again. Disgusting, I know, but you wanted the earliest.

One of my earliest dream is me being one of Santa Clauses flying reindeer.

Me and the other reindeers were in this big stadium, we all tried to fly, but only the best could, and those would used when santa claus flew around with the gifts

I flew, maybe it was my first time flying.

My earliest dream is a nightmare. I was inside a pyrimid that was blooming bright lgihts from fire all over. There was a golden table in the center, and a doorway filled with bright light. These two men were dressed in brown old robes and had melting faces, like wax. they had buggy eyes and english accents. they told em if was time to go and they were going to make me join the other. My life was going to end. It was so scary, i woke up shaking and crying.

I'm not sure how old I was but I remember being in a dirt arena and I was a matador an this bull was charging right at me, I remember then saying to myself "This is a dream" or something like that ans just before the bull reached me I jumped straight up, higher than I could normally jump and that's it.

I rule the world. Lots of money, lots of toys. And a camel, for some reason. I'm at the playground at my summer school, it goes behiond somethign and turns into a giant rat-king (like from the nutcracker, not, like, a bunch of rats tied by the tails). Everyone present has either been petrified or was a cardboard facade the whole time; I get a sword through the heart.

Kind of a recurring dream for a while, still happened every couple years for a while longer.

I flew around my hallway and through the kitchen and living room and back multiple times. That's all it was lol. Then when I was awake I always wondered why I couldn't fly. That was about when I was probly 3-4.

I was about 3 years old and dreamed of rolling a barrel across the road with my 12 year old cousin. It was a very happy dream. It doesn't take much to please a toddler.

This comes directly from my DJ...

This may have been my first dream, all I know is, that it is the first dream that I remember.

There was fire and the smell of sulfur. I assume it was hell. I wasn't afraid, and I could hear shouting and screaming. I didn't look down, but I was in the air. I was possibly a demon. I was part human, and part bat. Its hard to explain... Anyway, I was flying and that's about all...

      Slimer

I had reoccuring dreams about slimer from ghostbusters, that movie came out when i was a little kid and I always used to see that green blob in my sleep. Maybe it has something to do with dream ecto plasmic beings...they probably leech onto children. I've had to work on psychic vampire protection because I've noticed that advanced psychic vampires can enter your sleep through astral travel and drain your aura.

Kinda depressing but my earliest dream was one of my father as a freight train, yelling so loud that it drowned out the noise of the train. (Thinking back, it encompasses the fear I felt of him getting mad when I was a young child)

One of my earliest memories of any kind is a memory of a dream. Throughout my early childhood it was a kind of personal myth that I would base stories and pretend-games on.

I was two or three years old and often slept in my parent's bed at that time.

In the dream I'm in their bed, outside under open blue skies, rolling gently down the country highway near my farmhouse. On my right I can see down the high embankment into a valley where there's a train yard, crossings of train tracks, and stacks of fresh lumber piled on the train cars standing motionless in the yard. There's no one else around except me rolling down the highway.

I'm a little nervous for a few seconds, but I have the sense that I can steer the bed with my will and manage to follow the curves of the road as I roll down the slight hill. There's a sharp turn to the left coming up though, where the road enters the shadow of trees. I panic as I can't turn sharply enough and go off the edge of the road.

I wake up alone in my parent's bed.

The dream only lasted maybe 45 seconds of subjective time, and I have the memory that it was a lucid dream. Something overt about me still being in bed that gave it away. However, I must have gone over it ten thousand times in my life, so I can't be certain if that's a false memory.

I don't remember much from my childhood, memories are all fuzzy. Yet, I do remember one night, which I believe was my first touch in LD world.

I was about six years old, sleeping with my grandparents. Back then, they had a stuffed grouse ( I believe that's the bird in english, not sure though)

I had always been a little afraid of that bird and I heard it's sound coming from the other room. The clk-clk sound just grew closer and I was pretty sure it will bust in to our room any time now at the same time, I saw the ceiling "melting" or moving. The scary part was that I was completely captivated by the clk-clk sound, unable to move. I have no idea how long I was there, laying in the bed watching the room to change into different room. It must have been about 20 mins.

That was almost two decades ago, but I still remember it vividly. With my current experience, I can safely assume that it was SP and I was on my way to dreamstate from WILD.

I also remember a really simple dream about me jumping from the top of a flight of stairs and floating down to the bottom.
