      Cool Pleksa's workbook

Hi, My name is Pleksa,I'm 15 and wanted to lucid dream for more than a year but commited to it a little while ago.
I have been journaling my dreams for some time now and my dreams vary a lot, from what I've been able to notice my dreams usualy happen in impossible places like prisions and islands, and there are people i recognize in my group as well as random faces, so whenever i see my friends i ask myself could this be happening and is there someone i don't recognize. When it comes to recall i remember parts of my dreams most nights but only 2-3 times a week i will have a detailed dream or two that i remember, usually becouse of WBTB.

I've had around 3 lucid dreams, all of them happened by me just realizing I'm there, without any reality checks, even tho i did try to breathe through my nose and found out i could, but that only happened later, my dreams are rarely negative, usualy just experiences that don't bring much emotion untill I wake up and realise that i should have enjoyed the dream more.
My goals for now are to:
      - Lucid dream again(since it doesn't happen often)
      - improve recall
-stay more focused before going to sleep(it takes me about 30 mins to fall asleep so this is important)

I get solid sleep every night(7-8 hrs), but when i go to school in the evening i can spend up to 9 and a half hours in bed since i believe sleep is very important for our functioning, in my daily life i try to focus on questioning if i'm lucid or not, i got a friend who i can ask if im sleeping and he always answers truly. I doubt i will have that many dreams this month, so i will just try to focus on questioning reality in my daily life, also i rarely remember my dreams if i don't do WBTB, so when i just let myself sleep I barely remember fragmets of my dream, which is something i want to change. I think one of my problems is that i don't know a lot of things i want to do in my dreams, I am an artist and know LDing will help me a lot, I feel like if i found a strong motivation it would help, for now i know that it will be beneficial but not a personal wish that makes me exited is present.
Anyways thanks for reading, if you have any tips i would love to read them, I will be posting updates every week.

      Hi Pleksa,

It supper cool that your friend is on board and answering your question honestly when you ask him.
Have you tried the opposite way, like every time you see each other, he ask you if you are dreaming?

I remember, at one point my mantra before falling asleep was "you are dreaming" instead of "I am dreaming" or other phrases related to the "I". And in my dream, my girlfriend came toward me and told me "you are dreaming" and that triggered my lucidity. It was pretty fun that the phrase comes from a DC.

      have good dreams

That reminds me of a dream some years back. I went outside and some family members were waiting for me with a banner that said "Congratulations! You're lucid!" At which point, of course, I became lucid. I think they might have even had presents for me, like they were having a little lucid party for me.

Hello Pleska, and welcome to the DILD class! You can use your workbook here as a place to write notes to yourself, just communicate with others about your progress, and to ask questions.

How lucky for you to be discovering lucid dreaming at a young age, when you can really make progress and develop for yourself a solid lucid dreaming practice that can last you your whole life!

Dream recall is definitely helped by noticing multiple wakings during the night, and each time you find yourself awake, reaching for dream recall. It's also beneficial to record (voice, pen&paper, phone, whatever works for you and doesn't wake you up too much) at least a few keywords so that in the morning you can remember the dreams from the earlier wakings. You can set intent to notice wakings, remain still, and recall your dreams. Balancing this with more restful sleep can be tricky sometimes. Maybe you don't do it every night, but the more times you do reach for recall, the better you'll get at it.

Questioning your state is a good practice. Developing the mindset that at any time, you could possibly be in the dream state, can help avoid those "I'm obviously awake" cases where you miss a lucid dream. One of the things that always amazes me when I get lucid in a dream, is how immediately before that I felt totally awake!

There are many good resources on this site. You can check my signature for links to some of the articles I've written on this site (dream recall tips, and my general approach to lucid dreaming, and some others).

If you have not yet read it, I strongly recommend reading Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming by LaBerge, chapters 1-3. This will give you all you need to know to develop a comprehensive and successful dreaming & lucid dreaming practice.

It helps in LD practice to not just aim only for lucid dreams, but to develop a very close relationship with all your dreams. That means: realizing you do dream, a lot, every night, becoming very familiar with your dreams and sleep rhythms, and being very interested in recalling and recording (in a DJ) your dreams. Good luck, and let us know if you have any questions!
