Somnimancy-A guide to magic/powers in dreams

Hello all, this is KwikDraw13, and I've noticed lots of the questions on the Dream Control. There is one recent thread about Magic, but.... Do you really want to memorize all that? There probably has been multiple threads like this, but when I looked for Magic powers, they where all formatted as a question... So here goes nothing, this will be long so I will release it in parts, starting with...
Getting Started
First thing to do, when you realize you are dreaming, just stay put. Do nothing for about a minute, and just take everything in. Then walk around, and focus on the detail, trying to expand upon everything, from the detail of the visuals to the vividness of smells to realistic temperature. For visuals, which is one of the toughest, just stare at something, and try to make out all the small details in it. A sandy beach is the best for this.
Once you've done this, you are ready to begin using powers.

Elemental Powers
Fire
Feel your hands, rub them together, and feel the temperature. As you rub, raise the temperature, and envision the flame in your hands. Once it's there, pull the ends and stretch the flame to make it bigger. From here, warp it to fit your cause.

Water
This one is really tricky unless you have a source of water. The best way to do it (With a water source) is to put your hand in the water and drag it out slowly, and envision in following your hand, like a streamer of some sort. One this is done and you have a stream of water, try letting go of it. This should cause it to start floating. From here, warp it and form it to a necessary state.
(Freezing/Heating Water)
This is done much like fire. Put your hand in the water, spend some time to feel the temperature, and start heating/cooling the water. Once the temperature feels cold or hot enough, the water should become ice or steam accordingly.

Earth
Earth is a really impractical one. To do this, requires much, much more discipline in the other elements. You must feel the earth in your dream as a part of you, as if it is as much of you as your arm or leg. Then move it as you would a limb. Again, this sounds a lot simpler, but It is really hard.

Air
Air is a fun one. Once you've stabilized your dream, just do something to move the air. Two good ones are blowing really hard and grabbing a fan and, well, fanning.

Electricity
Picture the electricity in your shoulders, point your hands toward your target, and release, like a spasm.

Healing
For me, it was the same as fire, but picture a big white light in your hand. Put it wherever you need to, and imagine that it is healing.

Hey Kwikdraw13, Nice tutorial! I'm sure it will help some people out when it comes to using powers in their dreams.

I suggest maybe adding some summoning techniques, and maybe talk about using wands in your dreams.

Eh, I'm kinda opposed to the whole idea of wands. This is less "Harry Potter" And more "Dr. Strange"

hey

good guide as a start.

i just felt like letting you guys know about a technique i used a few times.. might help when you dont have any source of water around
i only tried to control the elements a few times, and with moderate success at best.. but anyway, here it goes:

just relax and fold the fingers of my hand inward.. like making a fist, but not with that much tension.
now the fingers form a sort of tunnel of air that opens into a hole where the index finger is (dont close it with the thumb)
then "pour" water out of the hand, as if it you were pouring something out of a bottle. i also used the same technique to make little ice cubes fall out of my hand to cool a drink.

i have problems creating stuff out of thin air usually, but when i came up with this it was feeling natural.. only used it a few times, but it worked consistently in those lucids.
i imagine the reason why its working so well is that you cant see "whats going on" inside the hand.. its easier to imagine your hand to be a water dispenser, than to just materialize it out of nothing.

Can we get Electricity in here? I tried to get it to work, but dispite how hard I envisioned and believed, I couldn't conjure it. I even caught a ball of electricity (couldn't get it to get bigger or last too long, but did something)

I'm still trying to do electricity, and I only want to do ones I have done (And remembered.) so if anyone posts how to do electricity, I will add it.

Electricity is easy. Well, I have not done it myself, but I have seen a few guides that had it in it, but they cannot be found for some reason, so I'll just explain it here.

We have a certain amount of electricity in us, you know, to move, electrical impulses, etc.

What you have to do is just move your arm and hand, to be ready to hold the electricity, and then think of it flashing down your arm and gathering in your hand, like those static balls where you touch them and a static line connects the center to where you're touching it.
Loads of people said this was almost as easy as air, because it is everywhere.

The elements are as hard to move as they are hard to find. If you can find a water source, it's easy enough. Same with fire. Air is all around, and already easy to move in real life, so that's the easiest. Earth is like air, but unless you just grab handfuls its hard. Kwikdraw13's guide covered it better than I could.

So electricity is easy, just imagine is shooting down your arm like a spasm, and collecting it in your hand.

These are some great ideas actually! Although I'm good at using telekinesis, summonings, and mind control, I've never really managed to use visible magic like I've wanted to.

I find that I use fire without thinking when I get angry. Not really tried controlling other elements; never seems to occur to me in a dream.

Off topic: you wouldn't happen to be the same kwikdraw as from postitdrawit would you?

Nice guide!
Well for the not having water around there is a easy technique to summon water. Just open your hands and imagine all the air moisture collecting in your hand. Pretty simple

I find that using electricity is easier if you look towards the sky and "snatch" a lightning bolt out of it. I did that in my first lucid ever and it worked really well. Just expect lightning in the sky and it'll happen, then grab it.

But that's just me.

Thanks for using my method for the electricity.

Really you can do any of them just by purely visualizing what they would look like, and then feel like, etc. But it is kinda cool to learn then through different actions and motions.

Don't forget about manipulating Time & Space and Shapeshifting. Those are my two favorite things to do in dreams. Freeze time, teleport around, and werewolf-out. Just a regular Saturday night.

A technique I use for electricity:

I imagine my heart is an outlet or battery and it is beating electricity where I want it to come out.

I tried this last night. I read this before bed, so it was in my subconscious, and I actually saw a DC shoot electricity before I tried it. I shot white-blue rays out of my hands pretty successfully. Next I tried fire, but I wasn't able to produce more than a thin flame, like a stretched-out candle. There's another power that I've found be super difficult, which is reaching through things, melting through walls, etc. I don't know if that's classified as an actual "power" since you don't shoot things out of your fingers or something. If I'm flying toward a wall I can melt through it easily, but if I'm stationary and feeling the wall underneath my fingertips, it's very difficult to convince my brain that I can reach my hand through it.
