      Mirror trouble

Hi people! if I look into a mirror in my Lucids, it looks like when you look into those funny twisted mirrors in amusement parks. I can manipulate the weird reflections, but they never look natural! I know this is normal in dreams, but dies anybody know a way to make mirrors more real?

Well, the only way you can do that is to believe it will look real, but it's definitely possible.
You can fake belief by making something happen which will in turn give you your goal.

      Hope this helps

It's not the only way, that's a very restrictive comment Arch. And you should know lucidity is the opposite of restrictions.

You can try smoothing out the mirror or stretching it so it is a normal mirror shape. That way the mirror will show your reflection, or you will at least expect it to one you make it smooth and less like those fairground mirrors.

A common solution to problems like these is belief, but also practical solutions that would work in real life.

Why do you want to make them more normal? I think its interesting how I create a new image every time I look into a dream mirror.

Although once in a non-lucid, I took some ecstasy and then looked at the mirror and my reflection was normal. But then it suddenly became angry and sprinted at me. I spent the rest of the dream running from me. Apparently someone laced my dream drugs....

I stay away from them. I see some messed up things in there.
Know it is your dream, you're in control. If your mind thinks "If I look in the mirror ____ will happen"
Then your mind is set for that.

Mirrors are interesting. The first thing, which you seem to have done, is to get past the fear most people have of mirrors in dreams. A fear I find completely understandable, mind you. You just need to look in the mirror with a set mind. If you need to, stay in front of the mirror as long as you can and try to get it to change into a realistic image. It just takes time and control.

I personally have never been able to get mirrors to work like they do in the real world; but I believe it changes for each person, so it could be just how your dream mirrors work.

Could try believing that what you will see in there is you, but then that could cause you to see what you THINK is you, and that isn't always realistic.

I fear mirrors in my dreams. The last time I looked into it, I could see a bucket on my neck instead of head. It sounds funny, but it frightened me.

Lol, I see a more muscular and handsome version of me that has abs. I sometimes use mirrors to to travel to other places. In my dreams all mirrors are connected and I can travel anywhere in the dream universe that has a mirror.

My reflections are always being weird in dreams, even lucids! They don't do what they're told! And half the time, they don't look anything like me! I hate that. Stupid reflections. Once I looked in a mirror and I was translucent blue with dreadlocks. Wtf.

I'm pretty surprised at most of these replies, every time I've looked in a mirror in a lucid or non-lucid, I always look virtually identical to my waking self

Mirrors are a good RC because they dont act as they do in real life. But the belief that the mirror will look real works too. Once in an LD i tried flicking a distorted mirror with my fingers, saying to myself that it will appear normal, and it worked.
The mirror felt like water, it was cool
