      Stabilizing Techniques?

I'm having LDs more frequently, but most end soon after I become lucid, so I'm wondering about stabilization techniques. So, what method do you use?

I spin around , use voice command and boss the DCs around or just focus some objects on the dream. Even though everyone is different and you have to find the methods that fits you. i hope I helped ^^

I try to laugh when I realize I'm lucid.

Thanks, If I become lucid tonight I'll try spinning, and I was looking around and saw crawling was good so I'll try that too.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

The most reliable way for me to stabalize my dreams is to rub my hands together and stomp my feet on the ground. this makes me more aware of my dream enviornment and body. the more sensation in your dream body the less likely you are to sense your real body layin in bed wich would wake you up.

I closely examine my hands and then touch my arms and legs and bend my joints. I use my voice sometimes. I like the stomping your feet one and examining some object up close.

My first five or six lucid dreams ended as soon as I realized I was dreaming. My first long lucid was due to continuously stabilizing the world around me. It lasted 30-45 minutes and would've been longer had it not been for my phone alarm. Experiencing a LD for that amount of time or more is absolutely incredible. I woke up to my eyes watering and goosebumps due to how chilling an experience it was.

But anyways this is what I do:

-Once you realize you are dreaming, relax and don't let everything overwhelm you. If you do become too excited, you will likely snap out of it.

-Looking and examining my hands (this is usually my reality check but works with stabilization)

-Changing the scenery every so often (if you don't know already, spin around in a circle. the scenery will begin to blur and become grey. once you stop spinning your mind should have created a location from scratch, or you can think of a location you have been or want to go with as much detail as you can. hopefully you will arrive there when you stop spinning in circles)

-If your scenery begins to get blurry I've done two things. Rubbing my hands works. Also, look at your surroundings. As they blur just concentrate and focus on something around you. Really study it and the rest of the scenery should become more vivid. (i was in a store in a LD, things became blurry and I just stared at some bags on display for five to ten seconds while really taking in the details of the bags. everything else around me became more detailed and realistic again)

Hope this helps a little. I know I mentioned a bunch of stuff that was already posted.

This is my biggest problem as well. Becoming lucid is fairly common for me, but staying in the dream without waking is difficult. I've tried most of the techniques above, which tend to help a little. Spinning has definitely saved me a few times. I've never tried stomping my feet though. I'll be sure to try that next time.

One thing in particular that has helped me is consciously trying to stay calm. Initially, my immediate response to becoming lucid is excitement. Now, as soon as I become lucid, I try to remember to tell myself to calm down. Then I start my stabilization techniques.
