How To Have Your First Taste Of Dream Control

A few nights ago, I was able to have a low level of lucidity, but higher than my previous ones. I was finally able to express some control (no flying yet)

What worked for me wasn't thinking or expecting it to happen. At one point I wanted some weapons to appear in the grass. I simple said out loud: "I want a gun and a knife" both items popped up!

      A few more examples were:

      "I want zombies to appear"
"I want that fence to fall over"
"I want to appear in Denver"

So if you're having some trouble with your first control, perhaps trying this technique will work for you! It certainly did for me!

If this post seems out of format at all, it may be because I typed this up on my iPhone.

      Thanks again!

That's a great way to initiate dream control. Sometimes I like doing that too, when all else fails. I like yelling and commanding things (I'm not a demanding person irl ). I would yell, "Give me a chocolate cake!" or "Disappear!!"

      Haha it's fun too

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I have found verbalizing my intents very reliable as well, for a lot of things.
Especially getting somewhere specific. Teleporting was a struggle for me, so now i just find a door and say out loud where its going to lead me to

Its also fun to tell dream characters what they are doing and they always listen lol
      Silly dream characters

I have merged your 2 posts. You can use the Edit post button to add something to your post, if it's something like in this case.

I use two other noob-friendly techniques that worked everytime on me and anyone I know that tried it.

      1. Using a pocket/bag/box/about any type of container. This technique works for newbies because it tricks the mind of an --unexperienced to lucid dreams-- person to project items without much self-convincing. This works so well because in real life, items come out of containers, so little altering of the dream world is required. You simply grab the first container you see, or your pocket perhaps, and put your hand in visualizing the item you wanna get. This works greatly with items like food, guns, lightsabers really does work and this kind of stuff, but I once managed to get a DC (person) out of the bag, by simply visualizing holding their hand and pulling them out.

      2. Real life reference. This is also great for noobs. It includes items that are placed in a room you are almost sure you will visit in a dream, most probably in your house, that will help you out on controlling the dream. This is mostly photos, of people and items that in a lucid dream you can poke your hand through and get what you want. I discovered that accidentally in a lucid dream where I woke in my room, reality checked and realised it was a FA and decided to play with a guitar poster I had hanging above my desk. Surprisingly effortlessly, I grabbed the guitar through the picture and played! After noticing that, I thought of a way to teleport effortlessly, and that was doors. I usually find it hard to beam in a desired room from a different door than its own, but that's just me. So I did it with my real life reference technique. At that time I was obsessed with getting laid with a girl from my school, so I took a full photo of my class's door and printed it in 12 splitted pictures and sticked it in a 3x4 A4 paper grid. It became a poster which I sticked on a wall in my bedroom. It was hanging there for a week or so when one saturday of DILD I was in my bathroom. It came to my mind instantly, I ran to my bedroom and opened the door through the picture. I saw my whole class standing there and my physics teacher asking why I was late. I told her to go fuck herself, grabbed my girl, went back to the room, wasted my poster (in my dream of course) and locked my room's door because as a noob then, I was worried that my thoughts would affect DCs to come into my room and spoil my fun. I finally got laid In my bedroom like a boss and woke up like a winner.

Of course those tricks are kind of useless to me now that I have an improved dream control, but they do the trick for most people and they sure helped me a lot until I obtained a good dream control

What's impressive is that even the simplest methods work and I believe it is a matter of believing that you're able to do it and celebrating all the little victories.

What's funny is that when you tell people the noob way of dream control is just expecting it to be there its's all easy, then when you tell them the way to become omnipotent in a dream is to use focus and expectation all of a sudden it's the hardest thing in the world.

It is more like you are asking for it to happen, and not really believing it will happen. It seems to work for me

Yes, in the world of dreams, different things work for each one. Some people can do extraordinary things which are almost impossible to others with little effort. For example, I can fly effortlessly in dreams, in any kind of dream, even in some WILDs that I lately have poor dream control (I just started WILDing after DILD/DEILD mixups and the vividness of WILDs is wasting my dream control) my abillity to fly is still amazing. Some people get really frustrated at this point, but thats just me.

The key is to find tricks that work for nearly everyone, so noobs won't be discouraged that maybe my technique or your technique doesn't work for them. As the topic suggests, it's about getting the first taste after all!
