How do you use dreaming to be creative?

I've been around for a while now and I think one of the things I see that contributes most towards being a successful with lucid dreaming, from those with thousands to those with a few is someone to be excited about Lucid Dreaming! So I questioned what it is something that makes the excitement in dreaming, what is the attraction to lucid dreaming at it's core. Creativity! The opportunity to flex our creative muscles and express ourselves and our human desires and emotions, through the creation of new dream experiences that push our understanding. Flying for example is something that every lucid dreamer has an attempt at eventually. I think the motivation behind something like flying, the desire to create the new and previously impossible is an amazing driving force.

So I ask, how do you use your lucid dreaming to be creative? What is appealing to you about having a dream where anything is possible?

I just use dreams in general for ideas for characters and stuff. Then with lucid you could just be very vague about what you are summoning and see what the result is.

When it comes to creativity, obviously I just like anything my subconscious comes up with. Teleport to a place that I don't know what will be. Ask a dream character a question, or ask them to show me something interesting. Attempt to summon/morph/create something and see how my subconscious will help me with that. There's absolutely endless possibilities, and they always end up with the most interesting results.

My name is Max. I write ambient music and play video games.

The funny thing is my LDs are actually very boring in comparison to my normal dreams. I would say most of my normal dreams have a story, a background story for my character and a whole world all built and very cohesive! I've had dreams where I was a martial artist fighting in the mountains, a lot of dreams where I'm on some sort of quest, it might be through a jungle, or a complete fantasy world (think LOTR / RPG games) or sci-fi and sci-fi horror (for some reason most of my horror dreams seem to be more sci-fi).

I get the feeling that this might be because I used to play a lot of video games, especially RPGs and I love anything with a well thought out story and plot, my brain just seems to have adopted all that and now almost every dream I have is like half a book already written for me. :yumdumdoodledum:

So basically I can take most of the dreams from my DJ, add some sort of beginning and ending and I have a short story all done.
