Question Lucid dream last 6 years. Need help to learn to control/change it.

Hello. I hope I have selected the correct directory.

I very hope you can suggest something to my friend. He need to change that dream to another one or learn to control so he can finish/change it.

Where to begin... Every his dream is lucid one and he did not study this intentionally.
Six years ago, he noticed that every dream continues the previous. i.e. each new dream continues the story of the previous. Writer, however, a huge bitch.
He realizes that it is a dream i.e. every dream is lucid, but he can't control anything there. He can't change plot or landscape and don't have any more abilities than IRL.
Yes, forgot to mention that he has only REM sleep phase. All his sleep time is one big REM phase.

Dream plot is complete shit. It's about war. All those six years.
He and his allies have to fight every night. There were about 10 millions of them, only 3 left,
If there is someone is killed in that lucid nightmare, it's forever.
If he dies in his dream, he just wakes up, but he told me that wounds from his dream hurts as hell, so he tries not to die.

      --------------------------------------------------------

I really want to help him, but do not know how.
In truth, I do not even feel sorry for him as much as the rest of the creatures there. Because they too think, love, feel pain and so on. I feel terribly sorry for them...
I even talked to pull one of them here as a tulpa.

The only thing I could think of was to advise him to kill himself in a dream, if he understands that the next moment someone of his friends gonna be killed.

He tried to hug his enemies, it doesn't work. He tried to get superpowers, but his enemies (the alliance) learned to ignore them.
Magic there, unfortunately, does not exist.

The alliance... They are those with whom they are fighting.
Well from what i know, they are cyborgs in generals. They smart tactics, but don't speak in our language at all (I proposed to capture and interrogate the prisoner.). Also there's no speaking officers to make peace. They tried to find the command center and destroy it, but the enemies anyway rod somewhere.
He tried to record dreams and somehow finish "story." Says tired in the seventh volume.

      ********

tell me if you need more information about something that can help.

Please advise how to finish this nightmare or learn to control it.

      Hi,

I feel sorry for your friend aswell
It must be quite terrific expirence
Hopefully i'il be able to help somehow

Our dreams are built on something called schematas
For example a dream is being created: A first prop that appears for in a dream is the tree
Brain is searching for something related to tree in it's huge database.
It finds forest and therefore creates forest
And things related to forest are animals so therefore animals are created

Your friend can try changing dream scenery
Since this nightmare is probably basing on one schemata changing scenery could work

I can advice him to read some Dream Control tutorials aswell
Those tutorials are quite good ones:

      Hello, it's me again.

He read everything and tried, so far nothing, but he will keep trying.

I would like to clarify one thing.
The fact that there are VERY stable dream.
Topography, geography, demography, everything is stable, every single detail. All the trees in the forest in its place, every single creature has his own history and so on. Even the text in the book will be the same every time, there's even a archives reports.

Can anyone tell me how to "break" this stability?
I thought I advise him to use alcohol, drugs or hallucinogens to that world "floated" and changed, but it may be very dangerous because he has schizophrenia.
In the dream, drugs do not work. Even painkillers do not work.

Need some way to violate rules of that world.

      Expectations do not work either.
"That is all. Quiet, quiet after a massacre, I expected to return. And you hear so familiar rumble from the sky.
Or with doors. That "seeing" as you open it, and it's locked."

We discussed and decided to try to sleep under some music that does not fit into the battlefield at all. For example, ambient or Mozart. Perhaps it has something to affect the story.
Perhaps there are some more ways to influence dream through the actual sensory organs that could be used?

He can try maybe cheating himself aswell
Example: Close eyes and try to trick himself into fully beliving that he's in different place
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

He tried to convince himself that he can turn the water back, did not work.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

I think, i found it. Ahh damn, i cant post links =( add site adress be4re link.

      blogs/hyu/persistent-realms-other-lucid-dreaming-techniques-i-use-39218/
      dream-control/149222-persistent-realms. html

Now we need to understand what to do and how to change.

who watches this topic - please, if you can suggest something or do you know someone who can - write.

I think we should try to make "Creating a fully persistent realm" (from 1st link) in the reverse order.

From your first post, I'd like to say that he can't possibly be ALWAYS in the REM stage of sleep? Wouldn't that make him very sleep deprived? Sorry, I can't really help you, but MisakaMikoto's advice should.

Agreed, from what I understand, the human body requires a certain amount of deep sleep every night in order to rest and repair itself. Maybe this person subjectively feels as though all they are getting is REM, but that really isn't the same thing.

      I don't know for sure...
The idea is that a normal person should see about 5 different dreams per night, and he has only one.
Also, he says that he never gets rested at all. As far as I know, in deep sleep phase, body get rested, and he always wakes up tired.

BUT GUYS WE HAD HUGE SUCCESS! That's the whole story, if you are interested. Ahh i still can't post liks. This story is abit too big to post right here...
Okay the link is pastebin *dot* com *slash* R6WJ3isQ
Please don't blame me for bad translation.

      In two words:
He decided to try not to command the world (like "am a god and i can control it"), he decided to try as if begging. Like "would be cool if..."
AND SUCCESS! Artillery shells just appeared out of nowhere!
This never worked before! But now first step is done!!!

This is not a victory, but hell happened, something happened! I was sure that something will turn out!!!
I am sure that soon he will be able to change all there!

      *******************************

Now he think of trying to create UAV's to gain an advantage and just finish off the enemy.
UAV's instead of something more powerful (like Death Star), because he seen them and thinks that they will be easier to create.
So far nothing, perhaps this happens in the same situation as it was then.

Not sure if it's the very best idea though, but he thinks to start with small things.

      I'm glad

I have one more hint for you Nerin
This might be kinda tricky but you should maybe try convince your friend that when he defeats those guys the nightmare of his might (or will) end forever and that he will have normal dreams that he can fully control

If he defeats those guys Belief & Confidence might solidify fact in his subconsciousness that nightmare has ended and it will never appear again

There's still a chance for this to not work but it can increase chances i hope

      Hmmmm.

To me it sounds like the schizo is causing some sleep disorder in which REM-cycles do not stop but continue after starting so being sleep deprived = worsened situation.
Also why was he trying with big control at the start, always go with the basics. Learn how that world functions and then use that knowledge to build up from there.

Good thing he is finally able to midly contrl it, like the idea of Misaka a lot. Although I am not sure he may want to get rid of the persistent part, it may have been hell till now because he couldn't control it but I assure you its something awesome.

I too keep my own persistent worlds, and yes its annoying when controlling them is hard but it is also very worth it when you learn the tricks to it. Maybe it is the incredibly bad schema he's built up till now that is making it hard to control too. I mean... 6 years!

Yes he's going with little things now. Like boiling a cup of coffee by will power.

About getting rid of this realm...
Truth to be told, he's not suffering physically for 2 years now. His first tulpa somehow saving him from getting killed for last two years.
And... He was accustomed to the suffering of others. It was hard to understand him when he calmly told about it, but he really did not get to do. I would call him unfeeling, but...
Probably, I would have become so, if I had seen such things for many years, and nothing I could do...
It would be better to change the world, and not run away from it. Because it would end the suffering for all the other creatures there.

I think that now only a matter of time and effort when he gets full control.

      Well... Thanks you guys.
