      Creating Music?

Anyone managed to do this, like set a background music for your dreams, no iPod or anything I mean making your mind think your listening to music?

Not in a lucid dream but I had a dream where I was working out and listening to Opeth. The freaky part is that it was the same song(I think) that my alarm played to wake me up a minute later.

I have a few times. It's surprisingly easy. You just start with a small idea, or pattern, and then it just unfolds. No effort at all. I've had one or two dreams where I had background music play without my intending it, but that happens less often for me.

Maybe try listening to a song you want to hear in the dream while you relax or get ready for bed. It worked for me one time. In fact I'm gonna try that again in the morning.

Also, sometimes songs just manifest themselves in my dreams, and these ones are almost always directly related to my mood. I got "Nowhere Man" when I was aimlessly wandering corridors alone, and the Twilight Zone music during a scary episode, for example.

This is a pretty cool thing to do although when the music stops the silence is horrible

^ Is a preset in my LDs , I can't help the music. Maybe I should study music and try to reproduce it haha.

I got "Sweet Home Alabama" this morning, pure awesomeness Although it was degraded a bit by me not remembering the words! The song just played on by mix'n'matching from different verses.

I've actually just read something saying you can create music or poetry in your dreams and even ask your subconcious to make it for you... sounds interesting

Yeah you can generate music, it seems to happen randomly, or when specific events are triggered ie. sex.

Sure--the easiest way is to just find or create a radio, then turn it on.

I'm actually planning to put a soundtrack into my next LD, I wonder how it'll be like.

Sounds exciting, I'll try that tonight!

I've always wanted badass music playing while I'm owning some guy.

i tried this when I had an LD last night, but nothing happened. I tried to 'hear' the song in my head to see if it would start playing in my dream, but it didn't work.... I'll try something else next time.

Well, building machines, atleast for people like me that trust technology: You could build a radio that could play any music you wanted!

Or, if you know theres a radio in your house, turn it on

Or, if you play games with cool soundtracks like Half-life 2, just wait for some music to play!
Sometimes having a fitting landscape works! I hear Deep Purple once, and my dream was America themed!
It your fucking world! Do whatever you want to it.. Its fine, as you cant do it in the waking world, you will never think of doing it in the waking world, if its something wrong like blowing up the world or raping a cat..

WILDs: 1 DILDs: 2 DEILD: 1(Maybe more, because many times i i figure it out while exitting the dream..)

Just create a radio, and press play with the understanding that when you turn on the radio music will come out, whatever comes out may not sound like music, but it would be an interesting "song".

The problem is with creating music in a Lucid Dream is that the song will feel completely familiar. As if you have heard it before a thousand times over.
I often leave dreams asking myself which song was playing and if I have heard it before.

The other day, my dream ended with some completely random song. I found myself for the next few hours having this song stuck in my head, I even sang it aloud a few times.

I turned a radio on once. The song kept lagging, so I had to turn the English words into random words for the song to play smoothly. Pfft.

I've done this a few times. Always quite amazing. Though, I never remember the tunes when I wake up.

You mean while in the dream? I almost always have music in the background of dreams (not a conscious creation though). I even once wrote a song from what was playing in the back-ground and recorded it.

      This is the creation:

I've been wanting/trying to do this for some time, like say: 'Play Enigma' and have it play over my dream as I explore around. Sort of like a custom playlist inside my mind.

This is on my to do list. I want to fly through the sky with Joe Satrianis "Flying in a Blue Dream" playing in the background.
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...
