I'm not sure what you mean by "sleep pattern", but I know that I have more dream recall when I get a decent night's sleep, so for me more than just a few hours. I also notice that if I use substances before bed (in my case MJ or alcohol) that my dream recall is significantly weakened, to the point where I can't remember a single detail about a dream. Like last night, I had two beers before bed and although I wasn't drunk I still cant recall my dreams from last night. |

It is amazing, isn't it? Trying to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day is actually one of the hardest things to do! |

I have a pretty regular sleep schedule and I think it helps me remember dreams better because on days that I sleep late, it's really hard to remember dreams even though I can sense that I've had them. For me exercise is what makes me able to fall asleep at around the same time every night. I just play some energetic music on my earbuds and jump around inside for a few songs. It's really easy to do because you don't have to put on shoes or go outside, so weather never stops me. |
